Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Edo Kun: you need another grass/electric type to beat him, or calm mind up with gardevoir, who is your only hope. Thus, reflect support, as posted above, will be very helpful. Switch mightyena's item for the battle. It might seem crazy, but bite is rather bad off mightyena, even with STAB. Use something else

Flamealex: personally, i'd give Rotarius a Big Root, to amp the healing from Giga Drain, and swap Gyrados's splash for Blizzard

I ended up doing exactly that (Calm Minding with Gardevoir, that is)...hooray for Luvdisc being abysmally weak. Yeah, Mightyena's item was just left over from traveling, and as for Bite...I've been looking to replace it. It's Hidden Power is Fighting (since Hidden Power is physical this generation), or I was thinking Return.

Platinum Dude, Cradily can't learn Rock Tomb in Gen 3 :-/ I tried. And I don't know how to get AncientPower on it. Confusion was only there so I would have a Psychic move to fall back on if Psychic's PP ran out, but I'll see about getting Light Screen, Reflect, or Double Team back on it.

Then how come I was able to teach my Cradily Rock Tomb in Sapphire?

Cradily learns AncientPower at level 48; I seem to have forgotten that it was at level 44. :-/

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

flamealex: i'd swap out the HM Slave for a Tyranitar or Nidoking, as both have diverse movepools and pretty decent offensive and defensive stats. alternately, if you wanted to spend some time finding Clefairy with magic guard (it can only be hurt by direct attacks) and then training it, then evolving it into Clefable, they can learn several moves which take advantage of the various weather conditions

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Please rate the following pokemon and their movesets:

Lucario
Lvl 63
-Shadow claw
-Iron tail
-Close combat
-Swords dance

Togekiss
63
-Shockwave
-Flamethrower
-Sky attack
-Yawn

Whiscash
62
-Zen Headbutt
-Surf
-Earthquake
-Rest

Please help me complete the movesets of these pokemon:

Houndoom
61
-Crunch (hoping to replace it by "Dark pulse")
-Flamethrower
-Sunny Day
-(Can't decide between "Nasty plot" or "Solar beam")

Abomasnow
57
-Ice punch (be replaced by: ______?)
-Blizzard
-Wood hammer
-Hyper beam

Venomoth
50 (currently in training)
-Poison Fang
-Signal beam (not definite)
-Psychic (will be learned)
-Roost

Please feel free to propose pokemon or moves instead of the last three (the first three are definite (you can rate them though)) please realize:
-I won't use stater pokemon in my team
-I won't use legendaries
-I won't repeat the same type in my team

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!!

By the way, as soon as i will have found the perfect team, i will breed my pokemon and go into EV training

Iron Tail? NEVER. But the rest of the set seems okay. Swords Dance and Ghost/Fighting.

Togekiss
63
-Shockwave
-Flamethrower
-Sky attack
-Yawn

I guess Shock Wave is somewhat reliable when it comes to PP. But on Togekiss, Sky Attack is just not right. Low Attack, a charge-up turn... Air Slash over Sky Attack.

Whiscash
62
-Zen Headbutt
-Surf
-Earthquake
-Rest

Seems acceptable enough.

Houndoom
61

-Flamethrower
-Sunny Day
-(Can't decide between "Nasty plot" or "Solar beam")

Dark Pulse over Crunch. That would be smart. And yeah, Nasty Plot is attractive for big power boosts, but you need SolarBeam's coverage.

Abomasnow
57
-Ice punch (be replaced by: ______?)
-Blizzard
-Wood hammer
-Hyper beam

Let me get this straight: NEVER USE HYPER BEAM!! What if it fails to KO? That could mean Abomasnow's doomed. Replace with Shadow Ball, maybe? And Ice Punch could be replaced with Earthquake.

Venomoth
50 (currently in training)
-Poison Fang
-Signal beam (not definite)
-Psychic (will be learned)
-Roost

Never use Poison Fang. It's weak. Sludge Bomb is much better. And you could replace Signal Beam with Bug Buzz. You don't need Roost in-game, so... Toxic, maybe?

Please feel free to propose pokemon or moves instead of the last three (the first three are definite (you can rate them though)) please realize:

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Thank you very much! i followed your advice for Abomasnow. And it seems quite good indeed. As for Houndoom, Nasty plot seems like a good move to up the special attack, but then there's Sunny day that potentially links with Solar beam. Please judge for me:

-Flamethrower
-Dark pulse
-Nasty Plot
-_________

-Flamethrower
-Dark Pulse
-Sunny Day
-Solar Beam

As for Venomoth, its in training so i dont know really what to expect for its moves...
maybe the following (note that they may be used for online too):
-Psychic
-Bug Buzz
-Solar beam
-Roost
(in offensive poison isn't that great, so one can forget about it)

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Like I said, Nasty Plot is nice, but Sunny SolarBeam might be better.

As for Venomoth, in-game + Roost = unnecessary, as I stated earlier. Toxic can hurt high-defense foes, and SolarBeam might not be good if Abomasnow's Hail is up. How 'bout Energy Ball?

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

as a suggestion for abomasnow, one could teach it Giga drain (to cover the recoil from Wood Hammer), as well as Ice Shard (to finish someone blizzard, wood hammer, or giga drain failed to completely KO)

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Sharking: i understand your reasoning for anti-Hyperbeam, but Abomasnow is fairly bulky (in my experience), and could probably take the damage from a would-be "revenge kill" and survive.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

I see a little more clearly now. Giga-drain, you think? it isn't very good except against weaknesses, besides an item can compensate for the recoil damage. About Houndoom, what do you guys propose? And btw, about roost and venomoth i mentioned that it wasn't only for the in-game.

Abomasnow
-Shadow Ball
-Earthquake
-Blizzard
-Woodhammer

About Lucario's Iron Tail, should i replace it for Stone edge? (see above)

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

yeah, i'd personally use it (as long as you have an item like Big Root or a grass-move enhancer to increase its usefulness)

as for Lucario, i'd choose rock slide, as its a smidge more accurate, and hits both enemies in double battles, at the cost of a little power

I agree with sharking for houndoom, definitely go with dark pulse over crunch, and solarbeam takes advantage of a weather condition you appear to plan on using anyhow, and gives you better coverage to boot

but, these are your pokemon, and therefore your decision

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

For a Team battle:
Gliscor
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Sky Attack or Aerial ace
-Screech, Rock Polish, Sword Dance or Defog

Magnezone
-Discharge or Thunderbolt
-Flash Cannon
-Mirror coat or Light Screen
-Magnet Rise

Any Suggestions?

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

GAMEARTIST: for your gliscor;
definitly Swords Dance as its attacks are all physical
and use Aerial Ace, Sky Attack isn't worth the trouble^

and magic1636,
why have so many different attacks for the same type, try to diversify! And counter your weaknesses, such as for magmar: he could use a solar beam to counter water, ground, and rock

3 of your pokemon have multiple moves of the same type. You don't need that.
