The In-Game Team Advice Thread

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

OK, where should it be?

And what else would it need for it to be competitive?

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Well, it's close, but you'd want the following things:
Natures already listed: If you gave us the natures, we would get an idea of it spurpose and we could usggest alternate natures.
The format, which is given in this thread.
ANd finally, with the format, Comments! They help us udnerstand what the team is for, and your strategy.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Eh, what format? That way I can get the roles done.

EDIT: Aw, crap. Didn't see the link. Sorry about that.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Alright, it's been edited. Any ideas on how it can work?

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Better, but you are going to have to be able to change the natures to reach your maximum output.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

How so? And what Pokemon need the natures changed?

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Their natures need them to be inferior to other pokemon around, they aren't hitting as hard as they can, they get hit harder than they should, and they are slower than they should be. The entire team needs a revamping in general.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Aw, damnit. I'll work on it again. Any suggestions?

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Go to Smogon.com and look up some pokemon you are using. It'll give you an idea of an optimal set, but at the same time, you don't need to copy it down to the wire.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

There should also be more synergy between your teammates. I don't notice the team working as a whole, you want to have them built around each other.

Re: Complete My Team!

Not sure if this belongs here, but...I'm trying to make a team to beat my friend. He always uses all legendaries and forces me to do the same, and this is one team I tried to use against him.

Zekrom
Nature:Brave
EVs:100 Atk/100 Sp.D/50 Sp.A

*Outrage
*Fly
*Zen Headbutt
*Bolt Strike

Zekrom is a relatively versatile Pokemon, and a semi-good lead. Outrage is a filler since I couldn't find anything better to put, Fly is used as an alternative to switching, Zen Headbutt is a decent physical, and Bolt Strike kills anything that needs to be dead.

Darkrai
Nature:Bold
EVs:100 Sp.D/100 Spd/50 Sp.A

*Roar of Time
*Spacial Rend
*Dark Void
*Nightmare

This is the exact Darkrai that my friend uses, minus the nature. Dark Void and Nightmare ensure lots of damage with no retaliation, and the Roar is used with Spacial Rend to deal even more pain while the enemy is asleep.

Landorus
Nature:Mild
EVs:100 Atk/100 Spd/50 Sp.D

*Stone Edge
*Earthquake
*Sandstorm
*Fissure

Landorus is kind of a filler, but he's a good Pokemon. Sandstorm is used for him and Dialga to keep chipping at enemies, Earthquake is a powerful STAB attack, and Stone Edge is mainly there for damage. Fissure is a filler, but it's been a good desperation move.

Giratina
Nature:Docile
EVs:100 Sp.A/100 Atk/50 Spd
Item:Griseous Orb

*Shadow Force
*Dragon Claw
*???
*???

I got a cool shiny Giratina that I really want to use against him, but I cannot figure out a good moveset for it.

Raikou
Nature:Rash
EVs:100 Sp.A/100 Sp.D/50 Spd

*Thunderbolt
*Aura Sphere
*Extrasensory
*Weather Ball

My Crown Raikou does surprisingly well as a sweeper, and it outspeeds almost everything my friend has. I tried to give it a diverse movepool, but it's definitely not the best...

Dialga
Nature:Gentle
EVs:100 Sp.A/100 Sp.D/50 Atk

*Flash Cannon
*Dragon Claw
*Roar of Time
*???

Dialga is my tank, plain and simple. He just soaks up pain while delivering vicious damage. Flash Cannon and Roar of Time are good STABs, and Dragon Claw is an alternate STAB attack for when Roar of Time's recovery turn would mean suicide. Still can't figure out a good fourth move...

On another note, the team he always uses against me is:

*Manaphy
*Darkrai
*Giratina
*Zekrom
*Reshiram
*Dialga

Could someone please help me with this?

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

I moved your post into this thread. AFAIK, the "Complete My Team" thread is for unfinished competitive teams. This team isn't a true competitive team because it is intended for use in a friendly match rather than in ladder play on a simulator.

That being said, I think you should at least take a look at some information on Smogon before you proceed further in making your team. I'll link you to their beginner's guide as well as their Ubers analyses.

Introduction To Competitive Pokémon (D/P) - Smogon University
Uber Analyses - Smogon Community

Please note that your Pokemon can have as many as 510 total EVs and a maximum of 255 in a single stat. For some reason, your Pokemon each only have 250 total EVs.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Thanks for the links. As for why there's only 250 EVs, I really suck at EV training, so I just use the vitamins.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Actually, vitamins will only give you 100 EVs in a stat.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Oh, oops..I'll fix that...

Both of those ghost type pokemon are good, it just depends on if you want a more offensive (banette) or defensive pokemon (dusklops)

They both have similar move sets, but dusklops can be taught through tutor, or TM a lot more moves than banette and thus it can be turned into an offensively strong pokemon, while still retaining it's defensive stats and maybe a move or two

So having said all that I think I would choose dusklops if I were you
