The In-Game Team Advice Thread

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

For a subway team, it's OK. The best way to learn is to play the Subway and learn from defeats.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

It's solid I suppose. You don't have a lot of coverage on your moves though.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Like what should i add then, personally, im thinking of replacing thunder on my lapras with thunder bolt, and giving rock slide to one of my pokemon. also, the perpous of adding so many dragon type moves and ice moves was so that i would have almost complete coverage over lance's and clair's team. (Which i have)

I like your team a lot but just one comment about umbreon. I made umbreon on my game a very key member to my team because it takes hits like its noones business and can slowly damage an opponent. I find that even in game it can't really hurt anything too much other then with dark pulse but its not that great. try putting toxic and flash and get it leftovers. flash is great against pokemon that give it trouble because in game there is not too much switching out at all and it will help you against opponents with tough pokemon.

what move should i get rid of for flash, because i was going to replace dig with toxic anyways. and i want to keep psychic as i have no other psychic user on my team, so should i get rid of shadow ball, i never use it.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

I'm working on an all-poison team because poison is my absolute favorite type and because I'm doing a Homika cosplay later this year. <3 So what do you guys think? I'm having trouble putting together a moveset that I like...

SCOLIPEDE (Poison Point)
X-SCISSOR, ROCK SLIDE, EARTHQUAKE, POISON JAB

CROBAT (Inner Focus)
FAINT ATTACK, ZEN HEADBUTT, CONFUSE RAY, WING ATTACK

TOXICROAK (Anticipation)
ICE PUNCH, FAINT ATTACK, ROCK SLIDE, BRICK BREAK/LOW SWEEP

DRAPION (Sniper)
THUNDER FANG, CRUNCH, FIRE FANG, TOXIC/AQUA TAIL

TENTACRUEL (Liquid Ooze)
SURF, GIGA DRAIN/TOXIC SPIKES, HEX, ICE BEAM

NIDOKING (Poison Point)
BRICK BREAK, EARTHQUAKE, FLAMETHROWER, THUNDERBOLT

I am actually doing a Harley cosplay, but not this year. :3 The team I think I'll have for that is in my signature.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

I'm playing in game Pokemon Black for the first time, and having trouble picking out a sixth Pokemon for my team. I tried to go for Cryogonal, but it's about as fragile as... well, as a snowflake. So, I need one more, and I'm open to ideas!

My team as follows, currently:

Samurott (Lv. 41) @ Mystic Water (Torrent)
- Surf
- Slash
- X-Scissor
- Razor Shell
HP - 135
ATK - 114
DEF - 80
SPATK - 88

Archeops (Lv. 42) @ No item (Defeatist)

Krookadile (Lv. 41) @ Rocky Helmet (Intimidate)

I'm currently making my way through the Twist Mountain, and I plan on picking up a Durant at the Victory Road, but I can't decide on a sixth Pokemon. It would also be nice if you could let me know of any glaring mistakes on my team! Thanks! (If you think of a better replacement for Durant, do let me know, though I like it a lot)

EDIT - Just something in mind; if it's possible to get a Pokemon that has no evolutions for the sixth, that would be great! I have personal reasons for this, being that I have Krookodile and Samurott, 3 stage Pokemon, Lilligant and Archeops, 2 stage Pokemon, and Durant, a one stage Pokemon. Obviously I won't hold myself to this if it compromises my team, though.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

@Dr. Slavic ;

Because your team has three members weak to Ice and only on resist, I'd say go with something that resists Ice. If you don't want Cryogonal, there still is other Pokemon like Heatmor available. But if you don't mind getting something that does evolve, go with Darmanitan or Bisharp

Girafirig and alakazam work better as special attackers. Especially Alakazam, why even put false swipe and giga impact on it? Try hidden power. Luxray is pretty good for ingame. Does your game have access to a move tutor that teaches superpower? if you are able to get it try putting that on luxray. As for other pokemon, can't really say much because there are so many. What other ones have you been thinking of using?

- because you have acrobatics maybe you can search for some flying gems for archeops. With acrobatics it becames real deadly. Do you really need focus blast on krokodile? See if lilligant has a useful hidden power and teach it that because it's coverage is pretty bad. Cryogonal's special defense is almost as good as skarmory's physical... if you had a pokemon (maybe your 6th?} that has very high physical defense then you can just switch it out if you are up against a hard physical hitter.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Hey, this is my Platinum party just before going into Victory Road and then to the elite 4. I have not caught Giratina, but i do have Uxie and Azelf. I will not be training them up yet as i wish to get through victory road first, so that i can be rid of my 2 HM slaves when i do.

Luxray (Blurr) Lv 54

Crunch
Shock Wave
Charge
Spark

Torterra (Sola) Lv 57

Earthquake
Crunch
Leaf Storm
Rock Climb

Rapidash (Vitesse) Lv 49

Take Down
Flamethrower
Bounce
Fire Blast

Staraptor (Horizon) Lv 46

Aerial Ace
Defog
Close Combat
Fly

Buneary (HM Slave 3) Lv 16

Quick Attack
Rock Smash
Cut
Endure

Gyarados (Draconis) Lv 20

Strength
Waterfall

I've been using this team since Eterna city, and they have beaten everything that came their way, but now that i'm nearing the elite 4, i want to know what other two pokemon i need to replace Buneary and Gyarados. Anyway, any help would be awesome :p

Stuck on Movesets? [INGAME ONLY]

Hey there. I have seen many Pokemon Black and White playthroughs on YouTube, and I have noticed that a lot of people are stuck on what Pokemon to use and what move sets they should have and if they're any good or not when it comes to the elite four. So I feel like helping you guys with problems involving movesets, as I think I have a fair bit of knowledge in the 5th gen ingame area. I have played Pokemon White with every starter, so I think I know some good ideas with them.

So what you need to do is just simply name a Pokemon who you are having trouble with or just curious about, and I will give an in-depth analysis of them, give them a grade based on what moves they can learn, their stats and how/when they evolve, and give some possible move set ideas for them.

TEH RULEZ
Only five requests per day, so if five people have posted before you in a day, please wait until tomorrow.
Only one request per day per person.
The Pokemon can only be 5th gen Pokemon.
Please don't troll, it just wastes time and it's not worth it.

I am open to any feedback, good and bad.

Also, if there is a thread like this, mods, lock the thread.

Bye for now.
