Umbreon: yet to decide
???: ???

Okay then yeah, Grass type would be good. Personally, I would recommend Whimsicott or Lilligant, but any of the Pokemon I listed in the last post would work.

Re: B2W2 Pokemon team

Added Umbreon's moves and last Pokemon (yeah, screw Grass-type, forgot I need a HM Slave lol) Please rate the team.

Re: B2W2 Pokemon team

I hope I don't come across as rude or anything but here are my criticisms:

Azumarill: Defense Curl and Rollout are way too unreliable to be that effective. Just grab Rock Slide in Mistralton Cave if you don't mind going out of the way; if you do, just stick with your Rollout strategy. If you grab Rock Slide, teach it Brick Break or some other fighting move.

Lucario: Let's face it, the AI is retarded. Me First is way too luck-based in my view, and really just... bad. Grab Calm Mind instead; it raises Special Defense, which is useful against Fire types or something. If you would prefer another offensive attack, I would advise Shadow Ball; the TM is by the house on Reversal (???)

Crobat: I get what you're trying to get at here with Crobat, but I have always found poison to be a bad status. I would advise Cross Poison instead, although I'm honestly not sure when it learns it.
Ninetales: Solar Beam - Sunny Day = Bad. You're a sitting duck until you fire off the blow. While your speed kinda helps, you still effectively lose a turn. Take advantage of Ninetale's odd ability to learn Energy Ball; heck, the TM is in Aspertia! (You need Surf, though). Also, Flamethrower is worlds better than Heat Wave; it has more accuracy, slightly lower power, and more PP. Replace Heat Wave with it once you get the TM (in a house on the way to Victory Road)

Umbreon: Healing moves are awful in-game since potions exist, and Swagger I've always found way too risky, although YMMV with that. To be entirely honest with you, though, I have no idea what else you should learn. Perhaps you could switch Toxic from Crobat to him? Maybe another attack would be helpful, especially on special attackers, which Umbreon is best at defeating.

Also, as a general statement, I'm going to have to recommend getting a Pokemon that can learn Surf. I've honestly always found slaves to be a waste of a (permanent) spot, although that varies from person to person.

Re: B2W2 Pokemon team

* Azumarill: Rock Slide and Brick Break too are good alternatives, although I was hoping to OHKO the Elite Four with Rollout :p
* Me First is there for further type coverage and I like the notion of the foes fainting from their own attack. Shadow Ball is pointless since I have Dark Pulse, they are effective against Ghost and Psychic, so picking both would be almost like having the same move twice.
* My strategy with Crobat is to get foes to 50% HP with Super Fang, use Toxic and then finish them off with either Fly or X-Scissor.
* The Ninetales is with its hidden ability Draught. For Heat Wave, it's essentially a Fire-type version of Surf, isn't it? I don't mind 10% risk of missing, really... makes the game more interesting, for example I always pick Thunder over Thunderbolt. It's even more rewarding if I get lucky and manage to hit with Thunder 5-6 times in a row. Heat Wave is far from such an extreme, it's 1 miss 9 hits on average, that's a good tradeoff imo for increased power and area of effect move.
* If you insist, I may replace Moonlight with another move. EDIT: decided to go with Guard Swap and Substitute.
* Well, considering I need Cut, Strength and Surf, yeah, HM Slave is a must, sadly. Something to hate about the Pokemon games I guess.

EDIT2: Switched Lucario's Me First for Magnet Rise. I think it's more or less final at this point, thanks for suggestions.

I'm looking for a 6th Pokemon... I don't know whether to use giratina, zekrom, salamence, dragonite, latios or mewtwo.. Or if you have any other suggestions throw em into the bag of contemplation. But I really need help on my 6th Pokemon...

do you have a badge

since im assuming this is your first playthrough

if not, noivern plz

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Im really not fond of poison types.. Its poison dragon right?

Noivern's a Flying/Dragon type. I've used one before and it's really nice to use(has stats similar to Crobat, though with a higher Special Attack over Attack and it's a touch slower). It also learns Boomburst, an extremely powerful(140 BP) Normal type move.

On a side note, is Avalugg any good? I seldom use Ice types due to their weaknesses, but I've been giving Avalugg some thought.

Ok, I've picked my team for ORAS but I'm stuck on my last one. Need the pros and cons of each of these. Victrebel and Leavanny. Which one is better? Will have a mega zard y for sun set up, and they both have chlorophyll.

Bolded words are the moves I replaced for better ones. Also, I didn't edit Kyurem because he should be in Black or White form. And if this is for in-game, then use a non-legend; it feels much more satisfying. About your movepools: You simply are using whatever high power moves are available and not choosing coverage. This is especially apparent in your Rayquaza, where you had Hyper Beam and Giga Impact, the two worst offensive moves in the game (IMO). I hope I didn't sound too harsh there. Enjoy building your team, and I hope my criticisms help.

Victreebel is a mixed attacker and has much better defenses. Its stats are a little lower, but only by 10 points.

Leavanny specialises in being fast and physically hitting hard. However, it has many weaknesses due to its terrible typing, including a horrible 4x weakness to both Fire *and* Flying moves.

Personally, I'd go with Victreebel. It's a lot less squishy and you can do more with it in terms of movesets. Although its Poison movepool is actually kinda weak, so you may have to rely on TMs on that side. It does learn Leaf Blade and Leaf Storm at level 47, though, so make sure you've evolved it before then!

Anything Else: Would it be a good idea to take out Flabebe for Azurill because I heard Azumarill is pretty good now with it's fairy typing. Second, after evolving into Floette what's a good level to evolve Floette into Florges?

Psyduck
Ability: Cloud Nine
Nature: Sassy

Water Gun

Honedge
Ability: No Guard
Nature: Brave
Level: 13
Stats: 31/33/16/16/11
Pursuit
Swords Dance
Fury Cutter
Metal Sound
Anything Else: What level should I evolve Doublade once I get there?

^ you could swap out Flabebe for Azurill. But you need to catch one with Huge Power, Azumarill sucks without it. You can also swap out Psyduck for something else since Azumarill is a water type to make room for something else for better coverage like a good fighting, electric, ground or dragon type. You can evolve Doublade when you get the stone if you're comfortable with its moves until you can get to the re-learner since Aegislash learns all of Doublade's attacks by re-learning. Be careful though since Aegislash won't be able to stance change without king's shield, hit and run tactics will be effective until then.

So would a Pancham or Mienfoo be pretty good fighting types? I was thinking more on Pancham because it's a new pokemon unlike Mienfoo.

^ I would shy away from Pancham since Pangoro is very slow and only has mediocre durability so you'll find yourself buying lots of healing items for it, its Fighting type STAB also leaves much to be desired having Hammer Arm as its best option. Evolving it may also be tricky since no one on your team is a dark type. Mienfoo is a good choice since it's caught early, U-Turn is effective for breaking through sturdy opponents, regenerator saves you some healing, Mienshao is very fast and hits extremely hard with High Jump Kick. Be aware though Mienfoo does not have Fighting type STAB early; learning Force Palm at level 29 may put you at a disadvantage for a while. I personally went with Lucario so I could mega evolve it and Close Combat everything to oblivion but there are other good choices too.

I actually looked on Bulbapedia and saw that you can catch Axew pretty early so I went with Axew instead

So...I'm playing SS again...

And I'm thinking about 100%...as much as I can between HG and SS. Kinda crazy, but enjoying it. However there is one thing that is looming over me and that's the Battle Frontier...specifically the Battle Tower. When I first heard of it, being the casual noob I was, I'd always get crushed by Palmer, but now with my knowledge (slightly more amped with stuff about Team Building and EV Distribution) I'm ready to conquer!

So this is kinda a thread about what Pokemon I should use or sets for 4th Gen success! I know there are successful teams out there but I want to try my own. So...I'm starting out with a Snorlax for one, than expanding. Snorlax will be my starting pokemon. It's capable of weakening at first glance and stalling with a Physical and Special Sweeper waiting behind it. So...thoughts?

Snorlax
Thick Fat with Leftovers
Impish
252 DEFENSE/252 SPECIAL DEFENSE/ 6 HP

Toxic
Earthquake
Brick Break

What do you guys think so far?

This is my current Alpha Sapphire team. I want to know what you guys think of it and see if anything needs improving. I'm currently at Route 118, trying to fish up a decent male Carvanha without triggering the Southern Island event just yet, as I want to set up a few things first. Here's what I've got. Note that none of these guys are EV Trained and such, but they do have Pokerus.

Blaziken (Infernox)
Gender: Male
Ability: Blaze
Level: 40
Item: Wide Lens
Nature/Characteristic: Impish/Likes to run
Attacks: Shadow Claw, Aerial Ace, Blaze Kick, High Jump Kick
Notes: So far I'm satisfied with him, though I plan to replace Aerial Ace with Rock Slide when I get it.

Gardevoir (Lora)
Gender: Female
Ability: Trace
Level: 34
Item: Bright Powder
Nature/Characteristic: Modest/Mischievous
Attacks: Draining Kiss, Charge Beam, Psychic, Moonblast
Notes: Plan to replace Charge Beam with Thunderbolt and Draining Kiss with Will-O-Wisp, but since both won't be available for a bit, making due with what I've got. Pretty happy with her regardless.

Swellow (Skydiver)
Gender: Male
Ability: Guts
Level: 30
Item: Leftovers
Nature/Characteristic: Gentle/Thoroughly cunning
Attacks: Brave Bird, Aerial Ace, Steel Wing, Secret Power
Notes: So far so good, though I'm not sure if I should box him as the Soaring feature will ultimately replace the need for him, but on the flipside I don't like using Legendary Mons in main teams. Feels a bit unfair even though I know it's perfectly legit, but still doesn't feel right to me. Plus I've worked pretty hard on him, so I'm torn between the idea right now.

Roselia (Thorn)
Gender: Female
Ability: Poison Point
Level: 30
Item: Black Sludge
Nature/Characteristic: Relaxed/Quick to flee
Attacks: Giga Drain, Venoshock, Round, Grass Whistle
Notes: Plan to replace the Black Sludge with a Big Root when I can find one. Also need to acquire a few more TMs to complete her moves. Note sure if I should keep Venoshock (as she has Poison Point to boost its power) or go with Sludge Bomb instead. Also, not sure if should I evolve her now or wait a bit longer, as I traded over a spare Shiny Stone from Y. Any suggestions?

Manectric (Volt)
Gender: Male
Ability: Static
Level: 30
Item: Magnet
Nature/Characteristic: Lax/Highly curious
Attacks: Bite, Strength, Discharge, Spark
Notes: Plan to give him Flamethrower when I can access it (though, according to Serebii, that won't be for a while), along with replacing either Discharge or Spark with Thunderbolt. Have to keep Strength for obvious reasons. Any suggestions for him would be appreciated, as I'm not too sure what else to give him atm.

As I said before, I'm trying to catch a decent male Carvanha for my team for my Surf/Dive/Waterfall slot (though will ultimately remove Dive and maybe Waterfall, depending on what I get or need at that point). Hopefully I'll catch one soon, so I can update my team and get the show on the road. Also plan on getting a Glalie when I can access Snorunt, so that'll mean boxing one of my teammates (it's a tie between Volt and Thorn atm). What do you guys think? Anything needing improvement? Thanks in advance.
