Sean Chrisoburg was, insofar as he could be, rather pleased at the moment. He’d left Terracotta Town a mere hour ago. The path he was using now, winded through several forests and other such locales. Currently, the path cut through a sparse patch of deciduous trees and plants. Trotting alongside him was a Houndour with a look of practiced calm on it’s face. In contrast to it’s trainers somewhat laid back stride, the Houndour’s walk was plainly practiced, disciplined. Sean spared the Pokemon a glance, and pondered *where* exactly Bast had picked up that walk, it certainly wasn’t from his family.

Sean suddenly paused in mid-step, they’d set out in the late morning and, consequently, the sun was going to be in his eyes quite soon. With a slight grin, Sean reached into his backpack and withdrew a pair of black sunglasses. Wasting little time, them on. Then, without missing a beat, turned around to present himself to the Houndour trailing behind. “So, whatta ya think?”

The Houndour, for it’s part, merely sat down and sent his trainer his patented ‘you-just-asked-a-dog-how-your-glasses-look’ stare. Sean sighed, he really should have gotten used to that stare. Suddenly, a female voice broke the silence.

“Will you stop fooling around? We need to get to Viridian before nightfall. At *least*”

Sean sighed, his parents had forced him to travel with his cousin, Juliana for the duration of his journey. Safety in numbers, they said. They obviously didn’t know the first thing about safety or, for that matter, his cousin. Sean turned his gaze to the other side of the path and thus, to his red-headed cousin and the Growlithe, Leo, which was running in circles around her feet (that pup had energy…lots of it). Juliana, who had already equipped her sunglasses had lowered them to gaze incuriously at her cousin and what she regarded as extreme foolishness on his part. If he kept this up they’d have to make camp and sleep in the wilds instead of a nice little room in the Viridian Pokemon center…and who would want that?

Sean, for his part, merely grumbled and started plodding down the path. Juliana looked after him for a moment, before walking after him. One thing was certain, they both supposed, things were going to be…interesting. That was the polite word for it at least.

Name: Sean Chrisoburg

Age: 17

Appearance:
picture.php

Hometown: Terracotta Town

Personality: Headstrong and equipped with a hair-trigger temper that would do a Mankey proud, Sean is quick to anger and lets his emotions fly the minute he feels them. This is a….bad combination, to say the least. Sean has gotten in more then a few brawls, and cheerfully recounts them for anyone who is interested. Despite his temper and his tendency to brawl at the drop of a hat, he is basically, a good person with a strong sense of honor. Which is somewhat lost beneath the haze of anger he sometimes wears.

History: Sean was born fighting, or so his mother maintains. Although, she hardly has room to talk, as she met his father by throwing him through the window. The two are happily married to this day. Sean was raised with loving devotion and care, meaning he know how to fight by age seven. His family was a bit well-off, as his father, after he was set straight during his first encounter with Mrs. Chrisoburg, became a lawyer of small renown. Sean, after attending school and seeing to his education (and being bailed out of trouble by his father) has, with the permission of his parents (and with the condition of bringing his cousin with him…) has set out towards Pallet town, to begin his Pokemon journey.

Name: Bast

Species: Houndour

Moves Known: Leer, Ember, Howl

Personality: The exact opposite of his fiery trainer, Bast is very much like a monk of old, calm and collected no matter the situation…or rather, he seems to be. He does have emotion, normally disdain for Sean’s antics or frustration at his bull-headedness. Despite this, Bast is very defensive of Sean and his family and will fight like the devil when they are in danger. As a side note, he has a distaste for poke balls, having been in the family since he was a pup, he never really got used to the concept.

Name: Juliana Chrisoburg

Age: 17

Appearance:
juliana.png

Hometown: Olivine City

Personality: Juliana appears distant and quite dry at first. Her sense of humor is quite…deadpan at times. This is a façade, like most Chrisoburgs, Juliana feels emotions quite stronger, but she prefers to keep her emotions bottled up, hidden. She throws up a façade of stiff indifference to hide this fact. But this façade has broke in times of stress. These times of stress often resulted in a brawl of sorts-giving Juliana more then a few scars, including one highly visible scar on her left cheek. However, despite her façade and rare loss of temper, she is, like Sean, a good person at heart…if more pragmatic.

History: Born and raised in Olivine City by two loving parents, who happen to be Sean’s aunt and uncle, Juliana always disdained the outbursts of emotion that her family was known for, people regarded her as they would a dormant mine. At a young age, she took action against this and threw up a façade that gradually separated her personality from that of her relatives and parents. Who, for their part, were a bit bemused. She did get into a few fights during her school years, but nothing notable for a Chrisoburg. As a result, these fights were commonly overlooked. Now, however, she has gotten a mite bit bored with her lot and life and, thusly, she struck a deal with her parents, she would travel with her cousin Sean. This was her parents way of ensuring her security, two Chrisoburgs is a force not many petty criminals and thugs would go against lightly. It is also more then enough to strike fear into the souls of shop clerks everywhere.

Name: Leo

Species: Growlithe

Moves Known: Bite, Roar

Personality: Energetic and exuberant, Leo is very excitable and is prone to running about any new buildings he is released in. Indeed, one of the few times Juliana shows any positive emotion is when she’s cooing to Leo. However, if his master or those she cares for is in danger, the joyful pup is replaced by a snarling ball of terror that will defend it’s loved ones no matter the cost.

Lloyd stepped quickly off the ship onto the dock South of Pallet, catching himself as he swayed uneasily, leaning on a nearby post as he became accustomed to standing on land once more. Gastly exchanged a confused look with his trainer, clearly unaffected by the change in environments. "It's easy for you," Lloyd said in a joking tone, smiling at the ghost pokémon.

Lloyd stumbled uneasily over to a bench and sat down, leaning on his fist; Gastly floating over his shoulder, squinting in the uncomfortably bright sunlight. "Now to wait for Lillith..." A dubious look crossed Gastly's face at this name, as though the pokémon had forgotten the subject of their arranged rendezvous.

Sean sighed for roughly the hundredth time, the trip had, thus far, been uneventful and silent. If it had been up to him, they would have explored a few forests and crannies. But, most unfortunately, it was not up to him. He’d been instructed to look after Juliana and she had adamantly refused to stray off the path. Sean didn’t like that, he didn’t like that one bit. He’d came out here to explore, maybe challenge a gym or two, but mostly, to explore. That had been his main objective. He sighed once more. Evidently, that wasn’t happening.

Juliana for her part, was equally annoyed, although she did not show it. She simply couldn’t understand why her cousin was damned insistent about straying from the set path, she had an objective that she had made quite clear, she intended to challenge and beat the pokemon league. Not bumble about in the wilderness. There was little challenge in that. With a muted sigh of her own, Juliana craned her neck to regard Leo, who had run ahead of the group. She smiled, slightly. Leo was good pokemon, strong and energetic. She had full confidence in him.

Lloyd heaved a sigh, exchanging bored glances with Gastly as he continued to wait. What was taking so long? The sun had begun to sink in the sky, fast approaching the horizon, and still Lloyd sat at the docks, waiting. Frankly, he would have preferred to embark alone as it were, but this was not the arrangement that had been made.

Gastly started as a glint of light flashed across the dock, Lloyd glancing up to see a Skarmory circling above, the pale evening light reflecting off the Pokémon's metallic wings as it slowly descended.

Sean sighed, night was starting to fall and Juliana still insisted on continuing onwards instead of stopping and making camp like any remotely reasonable person would. Of course, as he had learned, she was not reasonable. Insofar as she seemed to be concerned, they would be at the next city within an hour, or be dead from exhaustion.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" Lillith demanded, an irritatingly cheery smile adorning her face as she brushed her brown hair out of her eyes, gazing down at Lloyd with one eyebrow raised, tapping her foot as Lloyd stumbled to his feet, sore from sitting so long waiting for her. Gastly glared at Lillith, clearly annoyed.

"Don't give me that look, Gastly," Lillith shot back, rolling her eyes, "I thought we were meeting in town!"

Sean groaned for roughly the one hundredth time, he’d thought that Bast had mastered the art of unpleasant stares, but now, after a few mere hours with his cousin, he’d learned that the Houndour was a rank amateur. His cousin was a master of the art, a true master. Above the…strained…group, the sky was painted a shade of deep scarlet, night would be falling soon and they were still quite a ways away from the city. It look as though they would be camping after-all.
