[Infinity Storm]

Throughout the Pokemon world, there are few occupations as prestigious as the Gym Leader. The title alone exemplifies power and expertise. Instrumental in teaching the next generation of trainers how to work alongside Pokemon. However, the process of becoming one is extremely difficult. Many Gyms are family-run, and other Gym Leaders have maintained their jobs well into their elderly years. As a result, the number of people hoping to become new Gym Leaders greatly outnumber the amount of Gyms. Just getting noticed can seem impossible. To give prospecting Trainers an opportunity to gain recognition, the Pokemon Association has decided to host an event for talented individuals from all over the world: The Kalos Invitational. Taking place in Luminose City’s own Gym, this tournament will give participants a chance to showcase their abilities to talent scouts and influential figures from all over the world.

• Try not to tennis while your character is not in a battle. A little character development is fine, but be moderate.
  
• Be reasonable while your character is in a battle. It’s no fun if your character’s Pokemon somehow manage to miraculously dodge all attacks.
  
• Give your opponent a chance to react to your attacks when battling. Try not to say your attacks land immediately before your opponent can dodge or fight back.
  
• If your character is due to battle and you do not post for three days, it will result in disqualification. If youre going to be unable to post, let me know in advance so I can try to accomodate.
  
• Your character will be allowed to use three Pokemon in the tournament, with four moves each. They cannot change their moves during the tournament.
  
• No Legendary Pokemon or Mega Evolutions

Appearance: Michael is fairly well-built, measuring around 5’6 in height. He has tan skin, jade green eyes, and somewhat short blonde hair. Hes in pretty good shape, though this is more due to running around in his travels than active exercise. On most occasions, his attire consists of khaki pants, a white t-shirt, a bright green jacket, and white tennis shoes.


Backstory(Optional): Michael was born in Solaceon Town to a humble family. He had a good childhood but was doomed to grow restless of the small town. He was driven by curiosity and a desire to learn. These yearnings would gradually become a desire to travel the world, and a couple years down the road he was ready to embark on his journey. He’s still driven by the same ambitions, which raises a question: why on earth would he become a Gym Leader. He’s never shown any interest in settling down, but apparently his battling skills made someone think otherwise. He’s mainly participating in the tournament to test himself more than anything else.


Personality: Michael is fairly restless by nature. Most of the time, he comes off as impatient and somewhat blunt, but he usually means well. Once something catches his attention though, there’s not much that’s can break his focus. In other words, its difficult to motivate him, but once he decides to do something, he shows a surprising amount of ambition.

(Physical): She has a height of 6'03", sun-kissed blonde hair that she keeps in a ponytail, pale skin, a 32C, long-shaped face, broad shouldered, has a muscular build but nothing too specialized, covers her left eye with eye-patch with a jagged scar running down her left cheek, with her remaining eye being dark brown in color.


(Clothing): She mainly wears a white version of a runner’s outfit with black sneakers with a black long-sleeved shirt that has many forms of fruit symbols on it.

She also has black eye-patches marked with different emblems on it, taking on the form of a sunflower seed, a pinecone, a walnut, an acorn, a muskmelon, a pineapple, a strawberry, a orange, a banana bunch of 3, a bunch of grapes, a watermelon, a mango, a durian, a kiwi, a lemon, a pair of cherries, a peach, a cantaloupe, a dragonfruit, a metallic orange, a circle of various fruits, a red bunch of grapes wreathed in green fire, a sakura blossom, a red rose, a dandelion flower, a red tulip, a sliced blood orange dripping blood, a golden apple, a silver apple, a black apple, a dark red apple, and a circle with a half moon design. The creepy part is that the more spherically-shaped emblems seem to "move" much like how a normal eye would.

Backstory (Optional): Touko was born in a traditional family in Ecruteak where “might make right” and a “stern tree makes a most formidable opponent to even the forces of winter”. Raised in this cold environment, Touko prospered, trained herself to become a formidable warrior in her own right and to raise her Pokémon to follow suit. Because of passing down her training regimen to her Pokémon, Touko became soon became known as a formidable trainer by 16, facing any opponent without fear, touring the world to show her cold finesse at 14.

During her time in Unova’s Pokémon League Tournament, she suffered a horrifying accident that robbed her of her beloved Scyther, Murakumo’s right blade-arm and her left eye. Despite this gruesome accident with facing a Mega Metagross, Touko pleaded with all her might to continue the match, and almost died from the blood loss despite her close-call victory.


Now missing an eye, Touko stepped down to train herself to compensate for her lost eye. Years later she stepped out to accept the Kalos Invintational

Personality: Hard as nails, Touko is a woman of few words and action. Cold and aloof, she is not one to to be crossed with, as she can be really vicious in a fight. That being said, she does have a code of honor and ideals, and refuses to stray fron them. She softens up around certain people after awhile.

Name: Rin Tetsuya

Gender: Female

Appearance: A rather petite girl, she has a doll-like complexion with porcelain-hued skin and short blonde hair. Her eyes are a light cerulean color, and she is often seen smiling. Rin always wears a large white bow on her head, along with several hairpins. Her usual clothes are a standard seifuku-styled outfit with two necklaces; one resembles a bass clef, and one resembles a treble clef. She also notably carries a trombone case on her back, suggesting that she's an avid musician.

Backstory: It's not really something she's interested in sharing with strangers.

Personality: Rin is typically a bit shy when meeting new people; she's generally identified as an introvert upon meeting her for the first time. However, around friends, she can be quite a bit of a loudmouth, and extremely sassy to boot. However, she's extremely loyal to those that earn her trust, and she's a rather sensitive person. She happens to have chronic insomnia, and is quite literally a zombie in the mornings. Rin's considered to be a prodigy in both academics and battling.

Side note, do not argue with her on music. It'll turn ugly pretty quickly.

Name: Freya Norden
Age: 32
Gender: Female
Appearance: Freya is a tall woman with a light complexion. She has dark hair kept in a bun, aside from a strand which remains loose and frames her face in a curl. She is rather formal in her attire, with a black and white business suit (think Mia Fey, but with matching pants). She wears a rather ornate pair of glasses, don't be fooled by their overly flamboyant appearance though, she does actually need them. There's actually a camera hidden in the frames though.
Backstory: She grew up in Nimbasa City in the Unova Region. She first discovered her ability to successfully analyse a trainer's battling styles when spectating battles in the Nimbasa Gym, where she figured out Elesa's strategies and later defeated her with her Kirlia using those observations. This caused her to realise her capabilities and travel the region gathering the Gym badges. She eventually challenged the Pokemon League Tournament, she eventually lost to a woman and her Scyther. When she received a Kalos Invitation, she decided that it would be a good idea to enter, feeling that the concept of helping trainers to hone their skills appealed to her.
Personality: Calm, calculated, cunning. These are all words that can be used to describe Freya. She often keeps a level head even in the greatest stress, ad it's gotten her out of jams before. She tends to avoid other people most of the time, preferring to keep to herself. That's not to say she's incapable of forming bonds, just that she doesn't go out of her way. She is a force to be reckoned with in battle, constantly watching what the opponent is doing and trying her best to disrupt them. Whenever she witnesses a battle, she always turns on the camera in her glasses, watching the recording later and analysing strategies and formulating counters. It is due to this analytical aspect of her personality however that will cause her to lose her cool for a moment if an opponent that she has watched repeatedly suddenly does something strange and unexpected.

Gender: Male

Appearance: Dressed up in a dark gray jacket and khaki pants, Blake wears a dark gray hat with a half-Poké Ball on it. He measures in at 5'05" and has moderately long brown hair. He also has blue eyes, and brown shoes.

Backstory (Optional): Recently setting out to conquer the Pokémon League, Blake is relatively new to the world of Pokémon but has already taken great steps in understanding it. 13 years after being born in Treebark Town he finally received his first Pokémon - a timid Fennekin. Blake has raised her well, and she has really opened up. Now, setting out from the Jakkus region, he has agreed to partake in the Kalos Invitational as a way to train up his already quite formidable team.

Personality: He loves his Pokémon with a burning desire to battle and train more every day. As you might guess, he loves battling, and he has huge dreams of beating the Pokémon League one day. He is, however, a bit of a slow learner, and while he has come a long way, he doesn't understand everything about battling yet.

Gender: Male

Appearance: He has short black hair, blue eyes, wears a black cap, a blue shirt and blue jeans.

Personality: He loves Pokemon more than anything else, whether it's his own or wild Pokemon. Because of this, he can be reckless in order to protect them. Towards people, however, he is rather shy at first. He is very intelligent. From one glance at a Pokemon he's battling against, he can easily determine which of his Pokemon's moves are the best choice.

Backstory: At the age of 10, he began his journey in Kalos, having chosen Froakie as his starter. After his journey in Kalos, he traveled to the other regions, capturing Pokemon there as well. He has his Pokemon use moves of different types in order to make as much use of type effectiveness as he can.

Secondly, you need more than one sentence fragment for description and personality. Right now you've left me to think he's a floating set of clothing. Third, if you don't wanna flesh out the backstory you can leave it blank. And lastly, and this is a personal request, could you fix the grammar so you're using whole sentences instead of fragments?

@Max1996 Better but still needs a little more work. You've fixed the grammar, now expand upon what you've already written. For appearance, there's more to describe than just clothing. Is he pale/tan? What color are his eyes? What color is his hair? Is his hair long, short, or somewhere in between? Does he have any scars? Stuff like that. Look at the sign ups I've accepted for more examples.

Personality also needs more details. Ýou've got a good starting point, but there's still more you can describe. How does he act towards other people? Is he charismatic or is he more shy when it comes to meeting new people? How does he behave in times of stress? How does his mind process information? Those kinds of things. Also, you've said he's been reckless at times to protect his Pokemon. You could expand upon that as well. Would he feel the same way about protecting a helpless wild Pokemon or is it just the ones he has bonded with? Would he act in a reckless manner to protect human friends? Asking questions like these can make building a character's personality much easier.

Name: Thomas Stanley

Age: 18

Gender: unicorn Male

Appearance: Thomas stands around 6'3", with an average but slightly thinner build. He sports blonde, shaggy hair that is purposely unkempt and long. For clothing, Thomas is usually seen with a tucked-in tank top, baggy jeans, and simple belt, with pure-white sneakers. He also carries around a simple blue backpack, with a headset almost always around his neck wired inside of it, connected to a music player. When he's not conversing with people, he usually has the headset around his ears, visibly moving to whatever music he happens to be listening to at the moment.

Backstory (Optional): To be revealed IC.

Personality: Thomas is as laid back as they come, always willing to strike up conversation and be the life of the party. This extends not only to people, but to his pokèmon as well, forming strong bonds with them relatively quickly compared to others. This has allowed him to become a rising star of sorts among trainers, partly due to his luck, and partly due to the lack of challenging trainers. Though he's had a late start, he swept through the Unova pokèmon league challenge, managing to place among the top ten in the league.

The only thing that prevents Thomas from reaching the top is himself. His laid-back nature causes him to be somewhat lazy in his training, relying on his friendship with his pokèmon to carry the battle alone. His eye for tactical battling is not as keen as it could be, but nonetheless, he shows tremendous promise. If he applied himself, there's no doubt he'd be one of the top pokèmon trainers internationally.

Appearance: Volo is fairly short and has a frame that could be described as "wispy". He has slightly pale skin and fair blond hair, a light blue hoodie with a similarly coloured shirt underneath, and baggy jeans of a darker blue shade.


Backstory(Optional): Born and raised in Mistralton City, Volo's had his Swoobat since he set off as a trainer after raising it from an Egg. He holds a borderline interest in becoming a Gym Leader and had initially arrived in Kalos from the Unova region to look at the possibility of him getting into Sky Battles but decided to try the Kalos Invitational first, interested in seeing how he stacks up against the competition. Will reveal more specific pieces of this backstory in character.


Personality: Volo possesses a somewhat airy and lighthearted personality which is befitting when one considers his preference towards Flying types, but this is married together with a careful and calculating battle style. He prefers to go along with the flow instead of fighting against it and is quite good at masking his surprise should his plans in battle be stymied or ruffled by unexpected circumstances such as a move from his opponent's Pokémon that he hadn't anticipated. He also holds a friendly side and could be quick to strike up a conversation with people he finds likeminded.
