What parts did you not like about the main series games and remakes while you were playing with them? Here is my example:

In Black/White version, I didn't like how Backers Ami and Eira were rude to the player every time the player interacts with them before their battle and then they say how it was the player's fault after they get defeated (this also happened when the player only has one Pokémon with him/her).

I hate the arbitrary 'you can't go in this area for a lame reason'. And now they're just putting up orange cones!

I really hate going through Wayward Cave. Fortunately it's optional, but you still need it to get Mira as a tag team partner.

Yeah. I really hate Wayward Cave. You need Flash, too. Without flash, it may take minutes, hours, maybe even days.

I really hate when there isn't a good place to level grind such as HG/SS as a whole.

The dissapponting plot in BW. If I want an linear game, it better have a good plot, not a trashy one.

Re: Parts you dislike within the games while playing with them

Caves you have to use Flash in. And Rock Smash. I'm really glad Black and White got rid of that.

Switching out in Triple Battles is also a lot harder than switching Pokemon out ever should be. I've gotten stuck doing that before.

Going through Route 118 in Emerald. They're so many trainers, and Mossdeep Gym. To this day, they're still the most difficult Gym Leaders.

Re: Parts you dislike within the games while playing with them

I hated all the speed bumps in Sapphire. I loved doing speed runs at that point in my Pokemon career, but it's so difficult to do that in that game because of all the Team Aqua road blocks.

This. Man, does that ever bug the slag outta me. Oh, you don't have (insert name here)? Tough. You're stuck!

And don't get me started on using Flash or Strength in a cave. Gah, what a slagging nightmare. :banghead:

I hate PC always saving the world. For once, just once I want a game where the player is simply challenging the League for his/her wish for glory and/or money.

No evil teams, maniac leaders, time and space f**ked up and idiotic ideas of destroying the universe. And then the PC becomes the Champion but realises true values along the way.

Going through freakin' Chargestone Cave and Mt. Moon in Gen I.

Mossdeep Gym.

MOSSDEEP GYM.

THAT FRICKIN' MOSSDEEP GYM.

Seriously, though, memories of that gym still haunt me. Sunny day, solar beam, and the strange ability of theirs to ALWAYS take out any super-effective Pokemon you have first.

i hate that they removed the gaming casino.. i heard it was because the uk has a law against gambling in games, but the US doesnt, and neither does Japan...

Re: Parts you dislike within the games while playing with them

After beating the game in Black & White and going to all cities/towns, there are not that many places to battle trainers to train pokemon, especially because of the lack of the VS Seeker in the games. The only places are the stadiums in Nimbasa City.

Having to beat 20 pathetically wimpy trainers to challenge each Frontier Brain/Subway Master for the first time. Seriously just let me fight them damn bosses, you're not going to stop me with your Starly, Bulbasaur and Mareep :\

I used to play and beat Pokemon games quickly before I know about Bulbapedia. But now that I learned all the game mechanics from the site, I can't stop myself from soft-resetting to get Pokemons with the correct Nature. I also can no longer fight the urge to check the Bulbapedia article about a certain Pokemon first before I start catching and training that Pokemon. Everything became a lot more complicated.

Ignorance is a bliss, really.

It's not just the UK, it's the European Union as a whole. I imagine it was removed in the U.S. versions due to increasing worries about gamblings and kids, and also to help discourage importing. Then, there was no game corner in Unova to make it fair on everyone.

Now onto the thread...

Unova has no old Pokémon at all...until you cross a bridge. That's right, they're not even on a different island like in DPt - they're.over.a.freakin'.bridge.

I'm actually saddened by the lack of early route bugs in BW. I know it's good to shake things up but it's just something I was so used to (and we still have our two stage normal rodent and our normal/flying bird pretty early). With the wonderful selection in bugs I decided to do a monotype run. But if I want to do it without any of them being traded (even as eggs) I had to trade something to surf to Route 18 to get the larvesta egg and then rely on that one pokemon until after beating the second gym, since the first time you can get a bug without any trading at all is the inside of pinwheel forest.

I hate the arbitrary 'you can't go in this area for a lame reason'. And now they're just putting up orange cones!

The first set of twins you run into in Black and White (the ones near the day care) won't let you pass at all if you only have one pokemon with you, instead of just ignoring you like most double battle teams do.

I believe she says something to the effect of, "You only have one pokemon? What kind of trainer are you?" I'd really rather they not discourage our self imposed challenges, especially when you barely actually need HMs and having the moves is more of a convenience now.

I really hate when there isn't a good place to level grind such as HG/SS as a whole.

Once you get the gym leaders' numbers you're mostly pretty set actually. As long as it is the right day and time you can call them, beat them, call them again, etc until it is no longer the right time frame. Yes it relies on it being a certain day and time but most days and times are covered by someone.

I've never quite understood this. I tend to do it with teams I'm training for post game things but natures and IVs are largely irrelevant in the game itself.
