Well, Universal Pictures have been distributing the more recent movies (although from the looks of things, they only have movies 10-14, as the recent movie 4-5 blu-ray and the movie 7 DVD are distributed by Studio Canal, while movie 6's DVD is Paramount Home Entertainment). At least America receives the TV show on DVDs eventually...the most the UK ever received was season 1 on VHS years ago and Chronicles on DVD. MangaUK said on their Facebook tried to get the UK rights, but TPCi said they had "other plans"...yeah, like what? >>
That's mainly due to universal pictures being the uk publisher of pokemon
Depending on the companies involved, rights for shows and their respective movies can be separately or sold as a bundle. With Pokémon's case, I haven't seen anything to suggest that Universal also have the rights to the TV anime; in fact, if they did, MangaUK probably would have just stated that someone else has the rights (As they have in the past for other shows).
