So its been 5 generations, but no Dark-Type Gym. So I was wondering, if it were up to you...what your Gym be!?

~Which Gym Number would it be?
~What Pokemon would be used? The Signature Pokemon?
~What kind of Gym Leader? Male/Female, Age, Back Story?
~Which Region, City, or something entirely original?

What are your ideas?

Gym Number: 8
Pokemon Used: Absol, Tyranitar, Bisharp, Greninja, +Gen VII Dark types.
Region: The region that Gen VII introduces.
Gender: Male
Age: Late 20s - Mid 30s
Back Story: I don't know yet, but its something awesome.
He's the kind of Gym Leader that gets involved with the story.
Appearance: Looks like a cooler version of Grimsley, or a cross between Grimsley and Lance.
Personality: like Blue's.

Back Story: Used to be a the bassist on Roxie's Rock band, but a break up happened due to the other 2 members joining Gen VII Criminal Syndicate and Roxie is just an NPC on the city that Slater is Gym Leader from.
Personality: Cocky and confident
Appearance: He has red hair, his hairstyle is like Volkner's and he has a black shirt and jeans.

Now The Female
Name: Ribelle
Pokemon Used: Weavile, Absol, Bisharp, +Gen VII Dark Type
Age: 19
Back Story: She is a nerdy girl who hides her interest from everyone, she loves a Little Girl's show that is similar to MLP, but is called My Little Ponyta.
Appearance: She has straight black hair and has Gothic Lolita Style Clothing
Personality: She might look like she has a rebellious personality, but she is ratter shy.

When I've thought of Dark-type Gym Leaders in the past, the same image tends to come into my mind every time. My ideal Dark-type Gym Leader would be a very cute young girl wearing Gothic Lolita-style clothing who would be rather quiet, shy and delicate, but the moment a battle begins she would be the opposite - loud, harsh and sadistic. Once a battle ends, she would revert back to her usual self and have no memory of what took place. Umbreon would be a good choice for a signature Pokémon, as it evolves from the adorable Eevee.

In fact...I think I want to write a fanfic about this character now....

Here is an idea for a dark type gym:
Age of Leader: 16
Gender: Female
Name of Leader: Caroline
Gym Number: 7
Pokemon: All of Caroline's underlings use Froakie and Frogadier, but Caroline uses three Greninja.
Back Story: Caroline was a behaving little girl, until she discovered a Froakie in a box. She had been having fights with her parents, so she decided to run away from home.
Location: The gym is located in Kanto's Dark City.

Drapion, Krookodile, mega absol, Tyranitar (coz Absol sucks so may as well have that as the mega) and I guess a new dark type from that gen

Appearance: Looks like Sycamore, but dressed all in black.

Gym leader: Little girl in a cute outfit.

I like the contrast of a little girl using intimidating pokemon (they would all have the Intimidate ability).

He uses dark types because he believes in order to track down a criminal you have to be sneaky and think like one, plus it helps on his ghost busting job whether it involves ghost pokemon or something far more supernatural. Has white hair, blue eyes and wears a black trench coat with a fedora (which he throws off when battling someone he takes seriously).
Personality: Calm and confident but a bit quirky. His eyes tend to constantly dart around because has a habit of trying to analyze everything he can see within his line of sight even while talking to someone which makes it look like he's not paying attention.

Gym Leader: Devlyn is a 22 year old androgynous Dark-type Gym Leader. He/She is very mysterious coming from a different region.
Devlyn will also hint that he/she was an executive a villain group known as Team Rocket in Kanto.

Gym: Devlyn's Gym is casino-themed as an homage to the Celadon game corner once owned by Team Rocket.

Post-Game:
The Detective Looker will recognize Devlyn, and you'll have a rematch with him/her in the Lumiouse Train Station.

No. I refuse to use an existing character and I don't like Rocket Executive Archer. After all this is my Dark-type Gym Leader lol
Houndoom is not exclusive to just one Rocket executive.

No. I refuse to use an existing character and I don't like Rocket Executive Archer. After all this is my Dark-type Gym Leader lol
Houndoom is not exclusive to just one Rocket executive.

If it's in a Kalos 'sequel' type game, which would have to be at least 7 or 8 years after Kanto, wouldn't Devlyn have to be older? Else he/she would have been an executive at only 15 years old. Not saying it isn't possible, but a tad unlikely. Other than that, I really like the sound of the Gym Leader!

Appearance: Unknown, he wears a thick black cloak and has a metal mask with a T-slit visor to see out of. Red accents are found here and there on his attire.

Gym: Generally considered to be most suitable for challenge after acquiring 7 badges, it is found in Slateport City in Hoenn representing a great deal of industrial growth. Long thin pathways suspended by what appears to be nothing over a deep and cavernous steel ravine. Gym puzzle will be related to battling your way to a complex elevator system that represents a Tower of Hanoi.

Team:
3v3: Spiritomb, Craudaunt, Houndoom (Mega)
6v6: Spiritomb, Craudaunt, Houndoom (Mega), Krookodile, Scrafty or Inkay, Hydreigon

I've actually created a character for one of my Nuzlockes that's a Dark Gym Leader.

-It would be Gym #6
-The Gym Leader would be a man in his 30's that has two daughters. The Younger would be the final battle between he and the challenger as his youngest took an interest in Dark type Pokemon.
-His Primary Pokemon would be Zoroark, but his team would also include Sableye, Malamar, Tyranitar, Drapion, and Zweilous.
-The City would be Castelia in Unova a few years short of the Gen V games.
