I have now beaten the water totem (I was disappointed I didn't get to fight Lana, thought we would get to fight all of them).

Actually you can fight Lana after you complete the trial - at her house. You have to battle her twin sisters first.

I completed Pokemon Sun for the most part. I captured all the Ultra Beasts (you have to catch them - otherwise you wont complete the mission. Making them faint doesn't advance the story), and I found the battle tree to be boring. All those battles to only win 1 battle point isn't worth my time unless I'm just flat out bored. Looker gives you a 1,000,000 reward when you complete the UB mission btw.

Now to capture a ditto so I can breed some Pokemon for my walkthrough of Pokemon Moon. I'm going to spend more time exploring in that game and less about wondering what Pokemon live where. The lack of a national dex in the game kind of eliminates the postgame quest possibilities.

I actually haven't been able to lay much these past couple days, with Thanksgiving, and yesterday I spent the day with my mom and my sister. But after seeing Moana in theaters last night (it was beautiful, go see it. You won't regret seeing it's amazing!) I really felt in the mood to play Pokemon Sun and Moon.

So I got up this morning and started off with playing a bit on Moon. I still only have one solidified party member, my Popplio. I tell you Popplio is the most adorable thing. I love her so much. I have a Yungoos, a Pikipek, a Metapod, and an Alolan Meowth though that I'm training alongside Popplio so that she has someone to back her up till I can go catch a few new members for the team. I think that will be at Melemele Meadow, when I can start the hunt or Shiny Cutiefly. I went through the Trainer School, and got a new hair cut and a new outfit. I wanted to make my trainer look different from my Sun trainer, though I really like my Sun trainer's hairstyle (the medium and wavy) so I might cut my Moon's trainer's hair to that if I don't like this Long and Wavy look.

I've also done some more exploring on my copy of Sun. I'm taking a little break to just go back and go to different places I haven't explored yet. I looked on the map and realized I hadn't even been into Seaward Cave, or out to Melemele Sea on Melemele Island, so now I'm going to that. I was just in the Melemele Meadow using the Pokefinder spot to get to Versian 3 on the Pokefinder. Loving this exploring thing, Alola is just beautiful. I'm glad I'm taking a little break from the journey to go back and see the beauty Alola brings.

I finally captured a Ditto and bred my Inceneroar. Turns out the Pokemon nursery gives you an egg the first time you visit, and the Pokemon that hatches is an Eevee. The one that hatched for me in Sun was female. I'm not going to level her up or evolve her. She's going to used strictly for breeding.

Got to the League last night and beat it. Lemme tell you, it was definitely more difficult than the last couple generations. The League was rough, yet satisfying. Really good lineup. Despite having around 10-11 Pokemon in rotation, I finally settled on 6 for my League team:
-Decidueye
-Ribombee
-Raichu (A)
-Cloyster
-Minior
-Salazzle

Pretty good team overall. Fought through till the end and became champs. Overall, I can easily say SM are the probably the best games in the series yet. Starting the post-game content now.

Not sure if I'll bring them back onto the team in rotation, but I also wanna give some spotlight to my other team members who weren't in the final cut:
-Primeape (definitely #1 favorite out of all these--would've been my next choice if teams had 7 slots!)
-Umbreon
-Ninetales (A)
-Metagross
-Dugtrio (A)
-Persian (A)
-Zygarde
-Solgaleo

Well, yesterday I was curbstomped by Mimikyu, so spent the day grinding and finally got the other members caught up to my starter. We ended up taking the victory against her in the rematch, so we've moved to learn about Zygarde Assembly from Sina and Dexio and it's all pretty cool hearing about and assembled us a Zygardoge~ Gonna continue moving along Route 16 on the way to the next location with my now completed team!

Team:
Jongdae = Incineroar, Kyungsoo = Ribombee, Yixing = Comfey, Minseok = Tsureena, Se Hun = Lurantis, Baekhyun = Mimikyu; THE FULL SQUAD'S HERE!!! X3

Finally got a Castform in a S.O.S weather battle. Continuing to catch pokemon to fill pokedex. Level up Decidueye after a wild battle and then leveled it up again with Rare Candy.

Started off today by defeating Kahuna Olivia and completing Akala's Grand Trial. Fairly straightforward battle, though Lycanroc was actually harder than I anticipated. Chinchou and Stufful evolved afterwards, which really could've helped. Went on a tour of Aether Paradise and met an alien UB-01, after which I returned to Konikoni (great bgm btw) to battle Lana. I then arrived in Halie city after almost losing to Hau, explored the gardens to meet with Kukui, went up the library to meet with Lillie and Acerola, then went up Mount Hokulani.
Totem Vikavolt also gave me a fair bit of trouble, albeit not as much as that Charjabug and its Thunder Wave spamming. Collected Z-Crystals from Sophocles and Molayne then went back to Malie. Fought Guzma, and might I add that his sending out Golisopod first took me off-guard. Apart from that, I carefully whittled down its HP to take advantage of Emergency Exit, then KO'd both Ariados and his now weakened Golisopod.
Took a break to catch some Pokemon in earlier areas before progressing through Ula'Ula. Arrived at the Tapu Village and Aether house, after which Acerola escorted me to the supermarket for her trial. Also Dartrix evolved so that's a plus. I'm just about to fight Totem Mimikyu.

Party:
Decidueye lv.34
Ribombee lv.34
Salazzle lv.34
Lanturn lv.34
Bewear lv.34
Kommo-o lv.46 (temporary, obtained via GTS)

Didn't do much today due to other engagements, but oh well. What can you do.

I arrived at the Aether Foundation for the first time. I just want to say that I like how they cannonically confirmed the character's age during the conversation with Wicke. I feel like its been forever since the characters ages have been officially brought up.

I nearly lost my mind when UB-01 showed up. Also I've avoided pretty much all spoilers related to the Ultra Beasts, so I had no idea what was going on or what I needed to do. I'm also quite surprised to hear the Ultra Beasts being referred to as Pokemon, as I was still under the impression that they were an entirely different species all together. Also, Lusamime creeps me the hell out.

I made it to Malie City on Ula'ula Island finally. Hau challenged me in a battle that I nearly lost because I was super under leveled. I wanted to grind a bit beforehand, but I still wanted the challenge I've been having so far, so I decided against it. I noticed that Hau had his Z-Ring again, but fortunately in my case, he never used a Z-Move.

After narrowly beating Hau, I went to the Apparel shop. Unfortunately, I didn't care too much for the selections and only ended up buying some pink Camo Over-the-knee Socks. I know the girl in my avatar doesn't have said socks, but I wanted to get something and I thought they were cute. Plus I can take them off at any time.

So I guess Kukui doesn't care about spoilers since he more or less told me that the Kahunas are going to be the E4 in his league. I'm also surprised to hear that he's the one who wants to build the league. I guess we can all guess what that means...

I was super thrown off by Sophocles' trial. I had no idea that it would happen so quickly. I was completely undrepared since most of my team got K.O.'d in the battle against his cousin directly beforehand. Fortunately I had my Torracat (Abysunnyan) and Lycanroc (Helios) in perfect health to battle Totem Vikavolt and for the first time ever, they were both equal to the totem level wise. Helios ended up doing most of the work with his new Continental Crush Z-Move and Accelerock which allowed him to take out the last bit of Vikavolt's health while he was still paralyzed. So oddly enough, the totem I was least prepared for ended up being the easiest.

I caught a green core Minor upon leaving, and my Steenee, Solaris, evolved into a Tsareena. I'm still not to big on that species much either, but honestly, I don't think she would have done so well if she didn't evolve. It's only been recently that she's been able to hold her own and usually that's due to the assistance of Bloom Doom:/

I'm also at the point where my team members have gotten so much affection in Refresh that they're beginning to fight off status and survive attacks they would have been KO'd by. Hasn't been anything really game changing yet, but its just nice to see my buddies so attached to me:)

And now I'm heading back to the garden to meet up with Kukui again.

Hopefully, I'll get my next team member tomorrow.

Caught Solgaleo. The story that preceded it, damn! Was not expecting that. It's nice that Game Freak is taking this route in making the game more story-telling oriented. Also, this generation really amped up the difficulty. Very enjoyable!

Current levels of my team: level 65 going on 66. Hoping to get them all to level 70 before I move on.

Day 3: The Kiawe Trial
Have to admit I did not realize about the Sudowoodo blocking the pathway and then running scared of the Water Z Crystal. Should have really checked this route beforehand. Tried out the Red Card on good old Gumshoos and it's fairly useful to exploit the Stakeout Ability.

Battle Royal is a quite a treat to enjoy although it lags a bit. But why do they include it here when virtually it'll be impossible to compete when your opponents are all at Lv. 50? That doesn't make it fun. Should have had a contest or athlete sport here where levels don't matter.

The Royal Avenue is fairly nice and it has a Celadon-esque PokéMart. Wonder what the Hypno wants in the store? And what do you do with its begging of money? Discount coupons are nice and apparently you can them every time you enter the shop. Morning rises and I get to go to the Volcano for Kiawe's Trial. Caught myself a Cubone and named it Loneson after noticing that nobody came to its aid when it initiated the SOS call. So sad and its nature is even Lonely. Luckily I had given Loneson love it deserves.

The Trial was funny with all the dancing and ridiculous poses. The Salazzle was a pain to deal with since it was fast and nasty with its companions, especially after two previous battles. But I defeated it and got access to the roads as well as Charizard Ride. Now I can get more Pokémon beans.

There is more that I have done, but I'll cover that in the next trial with Mallow.

I just cleared Mallow's trial and battled Olivia. I suppose I will go to Aether Foundation next?
I am rotating my team which is something I had never, ever done in any game (it's too much hassle to grind) but whatever
my team so far is: Brionne (lv 30) Dartrix (lv 31) Mudsdale (lv 31) Torracat (lv 28) Ribombee (lv 30) Raichu (lv 30) Crabrawler (lv 30) Toucannon (lv 29)

Captured the Tapus, battled Kiawe and received Cosmog; going to switch out Pokemon from my box to train up next. Current team: Primarina, Solgaleo, Toucannon, Magnezone, Hariyama, Mudsdale.

I lost my Pichu. :( I could've sworn I saved before closing the game, but...

Anyway, on our way up Route 2 we encountered a Cutiefly. Only one nickname came to mind for this girl: Fluttershy.

I'm pretty much done with the Ultra Beast storyline, with every UB now captured.

Here's another crazy encounter: I saw a Dex entry for Dragonite, so checked its location, and found I had to fish for it - so I checked for bubble spots. I reeled in a Lv. 12 Dratini from one, and wondered if it could call a Dragonite out. Apparently, it did just that, and caught it.

...It was severely underleveled at Lv. 29

Oh am I laughing hard right now! :ROFLMAO:

Got through a lot of story today~ I know some people like to read others' adventures casually, like myself, so I'll use spoilers for anything like that~

Anyway, got to Po City and got rid of the Grunts terrorizing there. Have to say, the Grunts are really playing off their comic relief role much better than Team Flare. They've got some hilarious dialogue. (Two male grunts waving at each other, one trying to get the others' attention and the second thinking it's because the other thinks he's hot; LMAOOOOOO) LOVE THEM!

Moving on, took on Guzma with not too much trouble~ Gladion wasn't really an issue, either. Acerola's uncle afterwords was unexpected, but not too difficult (side note: Acerola's design is adorable). Don't get me wrong, it's anything but a breeze though the park.

So Lillie's been kidnapped and it's off to save her when he get to the big news~

As expected, the Aether Foundation isn't as good as we thought and is the reason for Team Skulls' doings, being the real big bads. Meaning, one, we finally have a female evil team leader in Lusamine, seeing as she's technically above Guzma. And boy is she anything from a disappointment. Chick is psycho! Her expressions in game are A++ and really make the mood.

As soon as I remembered Lusamine saying she was in her 40s, I knew. Not Lillie's and Gladion's sister, but their MOTHER! Who had Cosmog and Type: Null taken from her by her kids. The opening scene makes so much sense now; it was Lillie taking Cosmog from Team Aether! And all she wants is her Ultra Beasts and even Nebby's potential death won't stop her. This game is taking the severity of the plot XY tried and turing it up to 11 and I'm loving it!

She successfully releases the beasts across Alola and we see Hala and Tapu Koko ready to protect Melemele~ So the battle with her is REALLY intense. A full out battle with her having 5 mons, THANK GOD, not 3 (was getting disappointed with Guzma)! It was tough, but we managed to pull through. But now she's following her UB into the Ultra Wormhole and Guzma follows~ Meanwhile Nebby seems to have evolved somehow during the process of summoning the beasts~

Crew heads out and Wicke seems to not be as loco as the rest. Fortunately, Gladion and Lillie are still Lusamine's kids and want to save her. So after taking a night's sleep, we're set to make our next move

Planning on continuing on from this point tomorrow! Things are looking so intense and I'm loving how things are going so far! Moon is shaping up to rival Diamond and Platinum in terms of story for me! :3

Haven't had much time to play sadly, cause I've been very busy and had to work. Just reached the first trial yesterday, after 7 hours of playing ^^;

Taking my time to explore every corner and catching every mon, so I can complete the regional dex and get that Shiny Charm as soon as possible. My team right now is:
  • Raz the Torracat (Lv.18)
  • Ciel the Trumbeak (Lv.15)
  • Flim the Cutiefly (Lv.7)
As much as I disliked Torracat's design when it was first revealed, I have to admit now that it's pretty cute and I might keep it a while longer. Still boxing it eventually, when I get a Salandit.

Now deciding if I'm going to train Cutiefly a bit first, or if I'm taking on the trial first and train it afterwards...

Tried the Ghost-type trial, and that sure is creepy. Glad that I don't live in the Pokemon universe, lol. Came back to the Aether House after that just to found out that Plumeria is waiting. Apparently they've already snatched some Pokemon and I have to go to Po Town alone to save them. Acelora said that someone in Kimono can help me go through route 15 to Po Town, and I'm surprised to find a familiar face once more (I love this game for the cameo appearance). They gave me Sharpedo for PokeRide, and I immediately went to route 16.

Caught Huelo the Finneon at route 15. I went back to the abandoned supermarket after reaching route 16 to try to caught Mimikyu, but mostly I only found Golbat and Haunter there. I encountered Klefki once, caught it and nicknamed it Cle. Honestly, it's so crazy that some of gen VII Pokemon's encounter rate is so low. I mean, I want to get used to the new Pokemon by encountering them in game.

Anyway, I failed to even encounter Mimikyu and went to Konikoni Town afterward to challange Lana. Go fishing for a bit to find Corsola after defeating her and reeled up one after my nth try. Didn't count, but it's not that long, probably just around 15 minutes. Used adamant orb to lure out my true pray: Mareanie. Caught it and named it Atrate. Now I'm heading to Po Town for my big battle with Team Skull.

Day 4: Mallow, Greninja and Wormholes.
It's becoming increasing difficult to write down a log as there is so much stuff to do and so little time to write. So I'm going to highlight a few things as well as note selections and evolutions for my team.

Right after completing the Kiawe and enjoying the benefits of his Charizard ride (namely accessing the islands with all the beans and berries from Mohn), it was time to head out to the route and train some Pokémon, namely for Cubone to evolve into Marowak. That didn't happen as Cubone was caught relatively late and good old EXP would have all of my Pokémon end up over Lv. 30 before that happens. Meet Colress on the route, surprised to meet him this early. And there is also some guy who wants to build a Pokémon Jurassic Theme Park. Never thought I meet Gladion in the Motel next to the center, but it's funny to see him there and saying get out.

Rockruff Rebeka evolved into Lyncaroc Midnight Form. Not sure if Counter is the best way to go, wish it had an exclusive signature move. Cutiefly and Cubone have become part of the established team rotation squad (might be permanent once they evolve). Caught a Fletchinder and Crabrawler. Fun little creatures, though I wonder what the Aether Foundation employees at that trailer is looking for exactly. Trumbeak also gets to learn Flame Charge and hold the Fire Z-Crystal. Also caught Wishiwashi and called it Ann Chovy.

Started the Mallow Trial and it was fun collecting the little ingredients with the Stoutland Search mount. Then bashing it with A. My Alola Meowth also evolved around that time and apparently the evolution has a unique sound for nighttime evolution. The Totem Lurantis was simply monstrous in terms of speed, its cheap shot Solar Blade first usage, Trumbeak aid and worst of all, Synthesis. My Trumbeak's Flame Charge and Z-Move went to waste because that last one. It only took Pikachu's Thunderwave to slow it down and then Dartrix's Pluck to finish it off. Managed to beat it thankfully. And morning no less. But I can see why it's a pain to face.

Afterwards, got all of my demo stuff with an Ash-Greninja that has Timid (originally Naughty, then Calm through resets) nature. Disobedient due to being a level higher than the obedience cap. Loafing around. Went to the lab and discover Kukui's wife working on wormholes and interdimesion stuff on Ultra Beasts. Also explored the GameFreak building. Found out that Bronzong can summon portals. Didn't know that.

Current Team:
Artemis (Dartrix, female. Lv. 29)
Pearl (Trumbeak, female. Lv 27)
Pihau (Pikachu, male. Lv 28)
Hala (Makuhita, male. Lv. 22)
Ohana (Cutiefly, female. Lv. 21)
Loneson (Cubone, male. Lv. 24)

The ghost type trial is up next, I'm just taking a detour to train up a Wimpod I just bred. I decided I'd be kicking myself if I didn't take the chance to use Golisopod and Mimikyu on my story team so unfortunately that means Ribombee is taking a break for now. I put her to work training on her special attack on Poke Pelago though so I'll probably swap her back in at some point. (maybe during the post-game story if there is one) I'll probably spend the rest of the story training her through Festival Plaza and Poke Pelago.

Team right now:

Dartrix lv 30
Mareanie lv 31
Drampa lv 30
Mudsdale lv 31
Wimpod lv 1 (he just hatched a few moments ago, he has a brave nature which is pretty funny)
[Mimikyu] (when I finish the ghost trial)

and that'll be my team locked down. (aside from maybe rotating in Ribombee if I need her)

:ROFLMAO:

You can also use the same method to find a level 10 Salamence on the first island.
