<Doesn't have a grill (well, < has a "fire bowl," if that counts...), but wonders what grilling food is like

Messy.
Like Charcoal? Like ashy bits of things flying about? How about searing hot rippling flames inches from your face? Love the smell of charred bits of food laced with tangy smoke? The payoffs great, but that's the heart of what grilling entails. I've only seen a firebowl in use once and that was for roasting marshmallows. However, I'm not sure if the firebowl can get as hot and build up convection like a closed grill can (do they have sealable lids?) but if I'm wrong hey, that's practically a grill right there!

Sounds like what I do (or did; I'm not that interested in burning stuff anymore), but with food and higher temperatures.

No. It does have a lid, but it doesn't form a seal and it's meshy.
