In general, Venusaur is better for competitive battling. If the two were to directly square off, then I'm pretty sure Glaceon would win. Other than that...

Venusaur, since its design is a lot more original than Glaceon's. Plus, Grass-type > Ice-type.

Venusaur. Like, Glaceon's cute and all, but I find Venusaur to be much more interesting design wise. And I'm quite a fan of amphibians, toads included.

Would you pit a big toad against an arctic fox?

Design wise, I like both for fitting their type aesthetics (Venusaur being a Grass/Poison toad, while Glaceon being an Ice-type arctic fox). Although Venusaur was designed to be a toad, his design is way too complex compared to Glaceon's arctic fox design.

Stats wise, this is where Venusaur wins, given his dual-type and higher base stats. Glaceon could win by his type-advantage, but Venusaur wins by most other things too.

If I were to pick between two, even though I love Glaceon alot, I would pick Venusaur over him, since I like dual-type Pokemon more.
