Curious question, but when game hosts post the midday vote count tally, do people actually read it?

Yes, because it shows voting patterns which can be helpful for scumhunting.

I keep tabs of the votes myself, usually, since I'm OCD and a numbers guy, but I use the midday vote counts to confirm my numbers...or check of any abnormities in voting that might have been revealed.

@Soulmaster; glad I went back and checked to see if there were any hidden responses at the end of the previous page.
Anyway, your post was somewhat unclear, but if I am understanding correctly, you currently have a sockpuppet mafia thread that you could have up within a couple of days, correct?

Yup, thread, roles, rules/mechanics, the whole shebang. It was from Halloween 2014 but it never got off the ground due to things happening(don't remember what exactly it was but it was something). It would simply be a matter of changing the date in the banner and pasting everything into a new thread. Also seeing if CF would want to cohost again but that's minimal. So yes, that is exactly right.

Pretty much this. I like to keep track separately, but having a second informed source is always good to check my findings.

Masters of the Whoniverse is on schedule and should be up this evening!

The link in my signature will change when I have posted the thread. (The words will change too, so you should be able to notice, although I am occasionally sneaky and change the link without changing the words...)

EDIT: MotW is now up and running...well, not literally running, but you know what I mean.

I was sad to see that the Sockpuppet Mafia didn't work out originally, Soulmaster! I was really looking forward to that game, plus I liked the account that I made. D: If you try hosting it again I'll certainly sign back up!

@AussieEevee; Indeed, I do.

Definitely. Makes it easier to verify my numbers and who voted for who. Wish that is more widely adopted.

Of course people read them.
Some make them themselves just because they are very useful.
Voting history is also a thing elsewhere. Because rather than the mid-day and final votecounts, ALL votes that are added and removed, alongside their timing, are important in scumhunting.

I agree with Zexy. When I play a mafia game and actually survive beyond Day 1, I always keep a chart on hand that I update with votes and vote history, including changing votes.

For example, let's say on Day 2, person A voted for person B before anyone else did. Then, a lynch mob forms and person A backs out, sparing person B. That's good to know, because it could be indicative of scum trying to distance themselves from each other by voting for themselves, but not letting each other die. If I was the cop, I'd check person A. If he was scum, I'd get two scum checks for the price of one.

Granted, this is all hypothetical, since I alway die in Day 1 before getting to do anything...

One day we'll get a mafia game where you don't die day 1.

It it time for ME to break his bad streak!

Besides, I said that and now I'm playing TPP and subbing for MotW... and I'll probably change to player if it hasn't started by the time I'm ready.

...

You might like what I'm planning next anyway.

You haven't been quite as unlucky as ME, AE...I basically trip over my own two feet and die as soon as I enter a mafia game.

It's not fun to keep dying pointless deaths.

...I thought I was going to co-host Chaos Mafia II: Electric Boogaloo with you, Flop.

Although, I suppose in Chaos Mafia it may very well be possible to kill the hosts...
