Also has anyone ever won as a Serial Killer or is that role just a death sentence? I've been in and read several games in which there were a Serial Killer (actually every game I've been in has had a Serial Killer) and not once have I seen one win.

Serial Killer is a very hard role to win with. There's a lot of stuff that can go wrong, and they have no teammates to fall back on should things go awry. You generally need some kind of bonus power like a deathproof or ninja or something.

I won as SK once, but it was a very unusual game and I'm not sure it's representative.

Indeed, a SK without any additional powers is pretty hard. In general, indeps can be tough to play, but they are extremely fun.

The Serial Killer won in Periodic Table Mafia, much to my chagrin, because I had to sub out of that game, and Elieson told the Town not to trust the Indep claim after D3, but he was killed preventing follow through.

The worst part is, had I not subbed out, I had a plan that would have led town to victory, and the hosts confirmed (after I subbed out) that my plan would have worked.
