The Summary Game
Hey, you! Wanna plug your fics? Wanna practice writing summaries? Want to find the true meaning of life? This thread will satisfy at least two of your needs!Here's how it works: I'm going to write a summary of a fic that's not mine. After that, someone else (a player) will post a summary of one of my fics or fic chapters. The next player writes a summary of any of the most recent player's fics or fic chapters (they can request a specific fic or fic chapter, but you don't need to follow their request (it's polite though)). Play passes to the next player until the end of time/no one wants to play anymore
Simple? Here's the rules:
• All posts must contain a summary of any of the last player's fics or fic chapters. That way, the person below you knows whose fics to summarize. If you'd like to comment on someone's summary of your fic, edit your previous post or give a like.
• Write as if you're pitching your own fic. Even if you hated the fic, pitch it the best you can. Even if you loved the fic, gushing isn't a summary (though definitely give the author private kudos!). This is not a review thread; if you want to solicit reviews, check out the official Review Game.
• No spoilers! Summarize the fic, but don't give it away. Minor details such as canon type are allowed, but don't give away anything specific.
And that's it! You can summarize fics however you want. It can be any length, any quality, any tone; whatever you think is appropriate. But in the spirit of the game, do your best to write an accurate summary that best reflects the fic.
