Sarazanmai is a 2019 anime set in the Asakusa district of Tokyo, Japan. It follows the adventures of three middle schoolers -- Kazuki, Toi, and Enta -- who are transformed into kappa by Kappi, the prince of kappa, after destroying a kappa statue in Kappabashi-dori. As kappa, the boys must defeat zombies created out of desire by the Otter Kingdom, by removing the monster's shirikodama -- a ball-shaped organ containing the soul and housed in the butt. They do all this while navigating the issues of love, family, morals, and meaningful interpersonal connections.
Sarazanmai is currently simulcast between Japan and North America. The subbed simulcast is licensed by Crunchyroll, and the dubbed simulcast is licensed by Funimation. The dubbed simulcast is on a slight delay. Please do not discuss content from episodes that have been subbed but not yet dubbed!
