Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 20 Posted)

Chapter 21: Of the Battle of the Mountis (Part 2)

Now, you may be wondering; where is Terra? Well, I should let you know that he is completely fine. Sure, the Mountis tears up any stone or earth it trods upon, but Terra was safely away by the time it was going to crush him. You see, just as Xhoen left, Terra hopped inside of his Infinite-Space, and is currently snacking on a small stock of gravel he saved from the Ancient Pebblezog’s cave. He was enjoying himself, as the Infinite-Space was unaffected by physical environments.

Outside of this safe haven, however, it was madness. The crazed Mountis was relentlessly pursuing the foursome of misfortunate adventurers throughout the Mountahill. Serea was nearly out of her precious Time Dust, while Xhoen and Efrexa assisted Krain by lifting him with themselves. The eerie tunnels of the mountain whizzed by them as they all are attempting to escape the lithe Mountis.

Serea’s magic sputtered out yet again, this time with there being a longer pause between the comeuppance of magic from her Magik Stone. After this, she exclaimed, “Xhoen, teleport us out of here! We can still make it if you use that blasted staff of yours!” Xhoen quickly retorted.

“I can’t! The magic would take too long, and we can’t have anything else going on during the incantation!” Xhoen yelled back. Just as he finished, the Time Magic of Serea’s finally gave out for good, and so she slowed down tremendously. Krain quickly snagged her and put her on his back to support the exhausted tracker.

After another shriek from the Mountis, Krain then exclaimed, “Xhoen, we can’t go on like this! We need to get out of the mountain! I- whoah!!” There was a cave-in in front of their path, and so, with a boisterous screech, Xhoen and Efrexa halted their movement. They dropped off Serea and Krain, who walked over to stand alongside the others.

Efrexa then said, “How are we going to get away from it now?” There was a loud screech from behind them in response. The Mountis would be here soon, and not at all happy to meet his meal.

Krain looked around frantically for a solution, when he had an idea. he whispered it over to Xhoen, who was just to the left of him, and Xhoen’s eyes rose with agreement. Efrexa was curious as to what the plan was so she leaned in a little closer to grab what information came up. By the time she did, the two were done conversing, and so moved apart.

Efrexa was a tad peeved, and so asked annoyedly, “What were you two talking about, who to serve up to the Mantis first? Could explain what you just talked about?” Krain then whispered over to Xhoen again, then moved back, running over to the mound of rubble blocking the tunnel.

Xhoen looked back over to Efrexa and simply responded, “Let me ask you something: What happens when lightning strikes a mountain?” Efrexa was about to answer when there was a large flash, then a sound of thunder to accompany it. Efrexa leaned to the left of Xhoen, and saw that Krain was holding the Shocking Cube, and it was flashing as it released the electrifying power. The tunnel was now clear, with there being a large pile of rubble all littered throughout the floor.

“Did he just-” Serea managed to get in before another shrill roar came from the Mountis, this time with the Mountis in view, in its all ugly glory. Xhoen quickly grabbed hold of all three of the other Magicians (with Krain being grabbed on the run to continue the tunnel) and so Xhoen turned into a flash of light yet again, with more cargo in tow. The Mountis stared at the meal while dashing as fast as its long legs could carry it, the crazed mind wanting nothing more than to chase the smaller creatures.

Efrexa, through the whooshing of fresh air breezing through her nostrils, asked “So this is what you were talking about? But wouldn’t we want to find a quicker way out? Like maybe make the lightning strike through the side of the mountain and create a new tunnel?”Xhoen craned his head back to talk better with Efrexa. He was really straining to carry all the extra weight of his passengers.

“Urgh…there is no need to…Efrexa… huff…this tunnel leads…to the outside…pant…as there was a strong...wind coming from the…blockage…hurgh…” Xhoen answered. The blue sky was finally visible, though it was a nasty dark blue rather than the light most are use to. When Xhoen’s feet finally met soft grass, he stopped his magic from exhaustion. The weight was simply too much to handle for long.

Everyone tumbled down the base of the mountain, with the Mountis almost doing so as well. The beast quickly stopped itself, however, and began climbing up the side of the mountain for a better view of the land. It will not stop until the Staff says so.

Out of sheer luck, the Mountis spied over to see his prey, and e gave a victorious shriek. There was no way they could run now. Xhoen was knocked out and the others coldn’t use their magic. All except for Krain at least.

Krain wasn’t ready to give up so easily. While his comrades might be out of commission, he took the Shocking Cube from its hiding place, and with a blast of light, he struck the Mountis. The lightning struck its target, making a raucous boom in response. When the dust settled, Krain saw that the Mountis was unfazed, saved for a scorch on its face. Krain’s own face fell long, as the Mountis shrieked, and began running closer to them, the jaws clacking for a new meal.

~~~~
Not so far from this location, Vason began speeding over to the brawl area. He saw the flash of light coming from Krain’s artifact, and knew that was his friend’s location. He right now only hopes he can make it in time. Krain doesn’t use his Artifact for target practice after all.
Chapter 22: Of the Mountis Battle (Part 3)
The Mountis came steadily closer, salivating as it finally has its prize in reach. Krain, his face cringed with fear, fired lightning yet again, but to no avail. The Mountis was completely undisturbed by the powerful force. There was no one else to protect his fallen allies however. Xhoen had fainted from exhaustion, while Serea and Efrexa both were knocked unconscious by the tumble down. There was no one to save them now.
When the creature came close, it halted its pace, glaring at its meal as it chose who to eat first. It lowered its claw, with the smaller one coming apart from the larger yet again. Krain attempted to run away, but just as he was nearly out of reach, the claws grabbed him, and brought him closer to the gaping maw of the Mountis.
Krain was unable to see the Mountis for a time, but when it turned the claw so it could see the victim’s head, he saw what a horror it truly was. The face was full of scabbed wounds that never seemed to have healed from the initial shock of the Staff of Destruction. The Staff was embedded thoroughly embedded in the head of the dishevelled Mountis, glowing crimson with magical energy. This was the root of the beast’s state, the wreaker of havoc.
The creature lifted Krain a little higher, then positioned him above its mouth. Then with a simple movement, it dropped Krain fro mthe claw, with him falling from the claw to the head. Krain was helpless to stop his descent. He was going to die as Mountis feed, unlike what he was hoping for. He wanted to die peacefully in his sleep, to be satisfied with his life. But he would never get to meet this.
That is, until he heard the words “Fire the cannon!”, and felt his drop interrupted by a blast more powerful than his lightning.
~~~~

Vason had made it just in time to stop the Mountis from devouring his companion. The Magikanos had a superpowered cannon that was designed for heavy warfare. It was positioned in an Infinite-Space Room on the underside of the ship, so it could be commanded to be brought out at any time the captain wished.

Regardless, he ordered the cannon to be brought out and fired as soon as possible when he saw Krain in the clutches of the Mountis. Good thing the crew was abnormally active that day, or else Krain would have been dinner.

The Mountis fell with an explosive thud, with earth flying everywhere as the magical bullet of the cannon hit the beast. Krain was thrusted out away from the Mountahill, where he landed in the soft earth. He came out shortly after, looking up and seeing the source of the blast, which was his good friend Vason. He was about to yell out when he saw that the Mountis wasn’t finished yet. It came up slowly from the point of impact, the Sector of Staff embedded in its head glowing more furiously than ever. The power inside was going to be unleashed.

With a flick of its head and roar much larger than any before, the Mountis blast a current of energy at a nearby mountain, and after a few moments, the mountain suddenly exploded, blasting bits of dust and gravel everywhere close to it. The Magikanos was flooded with this dust, causing it to sink lower towards the ground. In its rage, the Mountis focused on the ship, and charged, with power brimming back into the Sector of Staff.

Vason roared into the speaker, his agitation projecting for all the crew to hear, “Bring this blasted ship up! Up I say!!” The men immediately acted, heightening the jets to full power, bringing up the ship. The Mountis swiftly came closer, and after just a few more seconds, it stopped, and released the explosive magic.

The ship rose just enough to where it wouldn't be affected by the blast, but only the main body. The enormous cannon on the bottom was sadly blasted off and unusable, now lying on the ground below. Vason sighed with relief, although it was for naught. The Mountis swung at the Magikanos with its scythe-like claws, and landed a stunning blow, knocking the ship into a spiral in the air.

Xhoen stirred from his place in the disheveled earth, with Serea and Efrexa passed out around him. He noticed that the Staff of Timien was no longer in his grasp, so he sifted the earth around him, attempting to find his source of power. After moments of panic, he finally found the Staff, unweathered despite the fact it was in a tumult of soil.

He stirred himself from the resting place, and stood up with the support of the Staff, aching with the bruises and cuts he endured. After getting up, he examined himself for anything broken. There was nothing, save noticeable patches of missing fabric in his clothing and clods of dirt stuck in places. He figured he could continue on, and limped over to the main action, still tired from his ordeal.

The landscape he saw while trudging on to the other side was desolate. There were more mountains than ever destroyed, and he even saw the battered hull of the Magikanos in the distance, with crewmen swarming over it like Fruiants to repair it. To the left of this wreck was the Mountis, slowly coming closer to the wreck, figuring that it would make a nice meal of men for tonight.

Out of nowhere, a voice called, “Xhoen, over here!” Xhoen turned around and saw Krain, half buried in earth, and waving his arms to catch his attention. “The Mountis used the Sector, and blew off the top of the mountain! Can you help me out of here?” Krain continued. It was a fair distance away where Krain was buried, and so Xhoen jogged as well as he could towards him. Afterwards, Xhoen steadily pulled Krain out, mumbling under his breath about how heavy he was.

Xhoen, after tugging out the Sage, remarked, “The Mountis is going to devour the crew, including Vason, unless we stop it. Any ideas Krain?” Krain leaned back a bit, stretching out his sore muscles. He then continued,

“Well, we can’t exactly hit the beast itself, we’ve tried that plenty of times. Maybe there is somewhere else where we can strike it?” Krain wondered. After some thought, he perked up his head, as it was leaning down, and opened his eyes wide. “The Staff! The sector lodged in its head! It is sure to be a weak point for the creature!” He yelled. But then, he let his head fall again. He continued, “But how could we get up there? It is far too high to strike with anything really…”

Xhoen put his hand on Krain’s shoulder and replied, “I know how to deal with that problem. Just go to Serea and Efrexa and take care of them. They are just around the other side of the Mountahill.” He then began walking off towards the slowly approaching Mountis. Krain nearly blurted out another question, but Xhoen cut him off and warned without turning, “You do as I ask Krain. I cannot have you near me when I deal with the Mountis.”

Krain continued to Serea and Efrexa, who were now stirring themselves from unconsciousness. There they saw what catastrophe had befallen them, withthe ruined mountains and even the wreckage of the Magikanos. When Krain began helping them out of the soil, Efrexa asked, “Where’s Xhoen? He was with us when we were tumbling down the mountainside.” Krain finished up bringing them out before he replied.

“I know where he is: At the fool’s ploy of killing a beast.”

Chapter 23: Of the Mountis Battle (Part 4)

Vason groaned as he drove himself out of unconsciousness at his place at the steering wheel. The Magikanos was not totally destroyed, but the wrecked solar panels, thrusters, and even a breech in the hull proved that the ship had seen better days. Vason overviewed the flashing lights and panels at his command deck, knowing that it won’t fly until some major repairs were made. That could not be accomplished until the looming Mountis was out of the way.

He brought out the Quake Mallet, which was glowing a dull brown at the head, and had the handle extend out to where it was his height, ready for smashing anything within reach. Of course, it doubled as a staff of sorts, and so he used it to support himself as he walked along the hallway, hearing orders coming from adjacent rooms from the crewmen. One such crewman, named Creven, ran forward from a hallway to the right to meet with Vason. He then saluted and stated, “Sir, engines 1 and 3 are down, the hull has been smashed open at the starboard-bow, and the Mountis that brought us down is only about half a mile away. What are your orders?”

Vason thought carefully about their position. The Magikanos landed on the side of the mountain they crashed into, but height will be no difference considering how high they were. There was only the side turrets on the ship to protect them, but they needed time to charge their blasts, so they would be useless. There was only one option: “Creven, get all of the men to the artillery room, and give them all a set of Blastrons, specifically for large ships. We need all the might we can get to take down the Mountis. It will be useless to get this tub off of the ground before the Mountis is lying on top of it. Am I clear?” Vason ordered. Creven saluted once more, and ran off to relay the message. Vason simply sighed and walked over to the stairwell to the top deck, where he would be waiting to face against the Mountis. He hoped he had enough strength to stand a chance…

~~~~
Xhoen limped as fast as he could towards the Mountis that was approaching his only way back home, needing to protect the crew and Vason. The Staff was powerful, but it may not be enough to destroy the creature and end its reign of tyranny. There was only half a mile or so before he was close enough to begin battle. Would he make it in time?
~~~~

The Blastrons were on deck, being handled by a turret stand, the three-foot long cannons filled to the brim with magical energy, primed and ready for launching. These mighty weapons were designed to go against militarized aircraft, but they would do well enough against the Mountis. The only downside was that they took a while to recharge, but not too long that they couldn’t land a blow or three against the beast.

Vason overviewed the situation, rapidly issuing orders so that they might stand the slightest of a chance against it. The Quake Mallet grew to a blinding shine of light, the energy inside ready to burst out of the casing of the Artifact. Vason was priming himself for the worst, knowing what his plan would require. The Mountis was nearly here.

~~~~
Xhoen hurried, now seeing that the deck was filled with Blastrons, all with men behind the barrel. That many Blastrons out at once could take out a battleship with triple layered magical iron after all. What would it do to the Mountis, or worse, what would the recoil deal to the mountain the ship was perched on? There was only oh so much that the Magikanos could handle in a period of time after all. What could happen? There was not time to worry. There was a few hundred feet left.
~~~~

The Mountis was now next to the ship, its jaws salivating and the claws sharpening. The Blastrons were charged and ready to fire. Vason was going to give the order when a crew member yelled from behind the trigger “Captain, if we fire, the energy stores inside the ship will be all used up! Should we fire?” Vason did not need to think.

Vason responded, “What use will energy stores serve if we’re in the belly of a beast? Fire!!” As the beams of magical energy shot out of the cannons, Vason swung the long-handled hammer in his hand, and with a great whoosh, he went flying with it, towards the spike embedded in the cranium of the Mountis. “Is this what you would consider being a dunce, Krain?” Vason thought in his mind as he braced for impact.

~~~~
From Krain’s vantage point, he could see a blinding flash of light, and a great cry of agony in response. Serea and Efrexa had drove themselves out of unconsciousness shortly beforehand, with Efrexa asking, “Where’s Xhoen?” When the flash came, Serea responded, “Most likely, over where that flash was. Krain, am I right?” The three were all with each other behind the ruined hill, with Krain assisting with what he could with the wounds on the two women. Krain didn’t really know, so he remained silent. Xhoen could be anywhere between, here and the Afterlife for all he knew.
~~~~

Xhoen had made it not quite in time. He was nearly blinded from the flash, and after it ended, he saw the Magikanos flying into the sky, and then as fast it had went, it came down, rapidly growing faster. He sprinted to where the landing site could be, hearing wails of fear coming the supposedly stonehard crew. They wouldn’t survive the impact if it landed.

As the ship grew closer, Xhoen repeated the same chant over and over again, wanting the massive structure to simply stay in that same place in the air. As the ship was massive, it would take a lot of magic; magic that Xhoen might not have the capability to use. But he tried anyway, wishing that everyone would be fine after this ordeal. There was a sound of intense wind, and all was still.

Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 23 Posted)

Chapter 24: Of the Aftermath

Xhoen was expecting to be dead. He was sure that his Magik Stone had been pushed to out of its limits, and so, he would have died. But that wasn’t the case, as when he opened his wearied eyes, he saw the casing of the Magikanos drifting slowly down to the ground, landing with a soft thud. After his elation, he smiled, and dell to the ground in a heap, now unconscious yet again from an overuse of magic.

The crewmen were expecting the same thing as Xhoen, to be dead from impact. But, as they noted their slow fall, they cheered for the mysterious Mage who had saved them. When the ship landed, they all went to the firm ground and assisted Xhoen onto the ship, forgetting of the threat of the Mountis.

Serea, Efrexa, and Krain walked on to the ship, with Efrexa using her magic to speed up their travel. The Serea and Efrexa loaded into the ship, with the crew assisting them, knowing that all were shaken by the attack. Everyone needed help. Krain, however, looked over to where the Mountis was before, where there is now a large crater. He then slowly stepped over towards that area, feeling as if there was a part of his identity missing in that area.

~~~~
Xhoen awoke, in his cabin, that was disheveled from the first crash of the Magikanos. Everything, from his charms to his book, were scattered on the floor, the wardrobe was tipped onto its side, and even his beloved armchair was punctured by a knife that fell. He groped around for the Staff of Timien, finding it conveniently at his side. He gripped it, and put the end to the ground ,and lifted himself up to stand. He started, but then fell back to the bed, feeling all sorts of aches and pains from his ordeal, and also far too tired to move.
Soon afterward, a familiar person came walking through. Xhoen looked over and smiled, asking in a tired tone, “Hello Efrexa. How is everything going on the ship?” Efrexa, herself covered in bruises and scrapes, smiled as well, sitting herself down on the punctured armchair, carefully removing the knife beforehand.
“Oh I’m not doing too bad. But if you’re thinking you’ll be supervising the reconstruction of the Magikanos, think again. You have had enough wear and tear for today.” Efrexa replied. Xhoen chuckled, but he then fell to a deep frown.
He then asked, “How is Serea, and Krain, and even Vason? Are they alright?” Efrexa opened her mouth to make a response, but then closed it, looking to the floor with a crestfallen face.
She did reply however, saying, “Serea is fine, in fact, she is the one overseeing the rebuilding.” Xhoen sighed with relief. Efrexa then continued, “But there’s no sign of Vason anywhere, and Krain walked off to the crater where the Mountis was obliterated. One man even said that Vason threw himself onto the head of the beast, just as the beams were firing, aiming for the Sector of Explosiveness.” Xhoen perked up, feeling newfound energy coursing through his limbs. He then stood up without difficulty, walking out of the room with Efrexa following him, advising that he shouldn’t go for Krain. But he went anyway, storming off of the ship and towards the crater.
He went off, following the tracks of Krain that were left behind in the soft earth. There was no doubt that they were Krain’s, as he was the only one known to have walked off from the ship. He went on, Efrexa loyally following him. The crater loomed closer and closer, showing every rock that fell loose from the impact, and even showing some remains of the Mountis, no doubt showing that it was surely destroyed.
When they finally reached the outer rim of the crater, they saw a covered shape in the center, shaking with what looked to be sadness. The two then ran down the steep slope, seeing that the figure in the center was none other than Krain, with his back turned towards Efrexa and Xhoen. Xhoen stepped closer slowly, Efrexa staying back. He then put his hand on Krain’s, feeling the shaking of fear and loneliness from the Sage.
Krain the quivered out, “The fool…he…he’s…” He then turned around revealing three things that he held: The glowing Sector of the Staff of Destruction, the cause of all this pain; The Quake Mallet, now shorter and now black, no longer the vibrant brown it once was; and finally, a pair of electronics, one a complex mechanism, all charred and burned, and a remote, equally so as the mechanism. Krain was revealed to have been crying, and he then said, “He’s dead.”
~~~~

The Enginerex had finally made it back to his main office, panting with exhaustion and anger, anger which came from the fact that he had lost his prize of the Sector of Infernos. He had to find another Sector, and soon. But where was the question…

There was a notification coming from his helm, and he clicked a button on the side, revealing a news bulletin from a screen in his visor. There was a picture, showing the Corlock with the Sector of Disaster in his hand, with bold letters stating ‘Leader of the Magi Discovers Legendary Forgotten Artifact!’

He first grimaced, then finally let out a roar of fury, blasting the nearby table with a powerful jet of flame. He then yelled, “I will kill him for that!” He then clicked another button on his visor, exclaiming, “Ravio, get the airship ready for flight towards the current location of the Corlock! We’re going hunting for Magi!” Ravio smiled with silent glee while he gave the order. The war has begun.

~~~~
Shadien happily smirked as he placed his second Sector on the pedestal, the Sector of Disaster to be exact. The little piece was stolen by one of his followers of Shadow, and replaced with a fake. Afterwards, the fellow went for a Judge of Darkness and got sent to Shadrax, successfully delivering his precious cargo to his master.
Shadien sighed with relief, and calmly stated, “Two down, three to go. Let the War ensue”
Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 24 Posted)
Chapter 25: Of the Ceremony of Memories
Krain continued to explain, “He must have jumped off to hit the Sector, embedding it further into the Mountis’ brain. That caused it to go unconscious from too much power, and so without it bracing for the impact of the beams, it was pretty much obliterated…” There was no doubt that there was no more of the Mountis, or any other Mountis really. The Life Sage will eventually make more, if they don’t come back to rebuild the Mountahills.
As the three walked back to the ruined wreck of the Magikanos, Efrexa asked a question bothering her mind, “Krain, with Vason…gone, who’s going to command the ship? Right now Serea is, but she doesn’t know much about airships.” Krain had thought for a bit, after he had calmed down of course, but the only suggestion was to either have him command it (which he may be a machinist, but he doesn’t really know how to use them) or to have a semi-trustworthy crewman take control.
“We’ll find someone aboard the Magikanos to take control. There is surely someone who knows how to pilot.” Xhoen answered for Krain. The rest of the journey was rather quiet, with short conversations quickly dying of silence. They did make it back, with Serea waiting for them impatiently on the deck. Instead of an angry outburst this time, she immediately felt sympathy when she saw what was left of Captain Vason.
She then closed her eyes, leaning downwards towards Krain, and solemnly stated, “I am truly sorry for your loss, Krain. We will hold a ceremony for him as soon as we can. Again, I am…sorry.” She then walked off to her cabin for a somewhat obvious reason. The crew quickly took notice of Vason’s trademark remote, and so all gave their condolences as well. They really enjoyed Vason’s lightheartedness at the best of times.
The ceremony took several weeks to ready, as the majority of the crew were hard at work to repairing the Magikanos, as the energy stores were slowly filling back up with solar energy, and the engines and hull were greatly damaged as well. There was nothing amiss, save for the looming flock of Cravens around, shadowy birds that enjoy stealing anything that shines, or that their master wants them to take…
When the Magikanos was finally airworthy again, and after much discussion involving the location of the next Sector of the Staff of Destruction (among more lighthearted personal conversations to help shake the sadness of the death of Vason), the preparations were all set, and so the Ceremony of the Fallen Captain proceeded. This was a very special occasion as the fallen captain in this case was also a Sage, so there was double importance to this.
This took place in the darkness of night under a full moon, with candles fueled by crystals glowing many colors. The crew each held one, with solemn faces for their captain, all humming in a low tone, perfectly to the beat of each other. There would normally be a group of them carrying the coffin of their honored, but as Vason was, well, disintegrated, his mechanism that once kept his molecules together was what was used instead, carried by Efrexa in a long black dress. Xhoen, Serea and Krain followed behind her, each holding a candle as well. How saddening…
When the mechanism was set on a pedestal, the four took the place, with Serea and Efrexa taking to the right of it, and Krain and Xhoen taking the right. The humming then stopped, and now was the time for the testimonies of the friends of the fallen one. The crewmen didn’t really count, as they were only his subordinates.
Serea came up behind the pedestal first ,and she then testified the following: “I may not have known Vason like Krain or Xhoen does, but I can say that he was a great companion for what I had known of him. He was wise, albeit not as wise as some, but still so. But he was full of life despite his condition from millennia ago, and was most well known for his good humor and no lack of mercy. I say these things unto you under my experience with the Earth Sage, Vason Ewrenend.” She then walked back to her place next to Efrexa, and the girl then walked up to the pedestal.
Efrexa then stated, and I quote: “I probably have even less experience than Serea has, but with what I do know of him, he was just as Serea had said: A wise man with good lighthearted humor. He was an expert pilot, making it so we could kill the Mountis, and obtain the Sector of Explosiveness from the beast. I can only say so much from my experience, and I say these things unto you under my experience with the Earth Sage, Vason Ewrenend.” She then took back her place just as Serea did. Xhoen was next.
Just as the two others before, he testified, “I may be the most biased of this audience here before I came to know Vason. WHen I was only fourteen, he was one of the two generals of the cursed Lord Darcius, along with Krain. After I purified them with the Orb, I left them until after the Lord was defeated. When I did meet them again, I was braced for battle. But instead, they were forgiven for their mistakes, with Vason being the quickest to do so. He is quick to forgive others, and to be forgiven. He even used to be a big dunce, hence his old nickname Duncen, but he had made that name forgotten by getting a higher education ,and even becoming the Sage of Earth. I had held a new respect for him ever since then, and feel sorrow for his loss. I say these things unto you under my experience with the Earth Sage, Vason Ewrenend.” He took back his place, the Staff clomping along the steel-plated deck. Krain, hte last but surely not least, stepped up to the stand.
“My life will never be the same after I saw this little piece of metal I designed for him” Krain stated, gesturing towards the mechanism used in Vason’s place, “I used to have loathed him for his dumbness, but when he was close to death, I realized how close we had grown on the battlefield, and at peace. I constructed it as quick as I could when the medics kept him sustained, and just as he would have faded away, I linked it to him, and gave him a new gift: transformation. In the bad years of the rule of Lord Darcius, I exploited that gift, changing Vason into a variety of things to assist our bounty hunting. But after our purification, I immediately wanted to make amends, by first letting Vason take control of the remote that transformed him. Then we began righting our mistakes and made it so we could be forgiven of our crimes. Me and Vason had been together ever since that fateful day in Shadrax, and ever since our Sagehood we have been together. If I had been with him when he had lunged…I may... I’m sorry.” He then proceeded to walk off, nearly ready to burst from despair. Even if it was unorthodox, the ceremony continued.
Afer this, the pedestal was set to glow, and it began to rise slowly into the air, rising higher and higher towards where the Afterlife was believed to begin, giving safe passage for the lost one’s body. Vason’s spirit would at least accept this, as his body was gone for other means. The ceremony had now ended and the last phrase that was said by the congregation was “Let Vason, the Old Sage of the Earth, live on forever in the Afterlife.” They then dispersed to ready the Magikanos for its next flight into the sky.
Xhoen walked back into his room, leaving Krain to let out his feeling for Vason. He set his staff next to the doorway, and sat on his repaired armchair. He looked up to the shelf above, just to check on the Sector of Explosiveness. He then gasped, stunned to see it was empty. e stood up abruptly, and looked into the crevice. All that was there was a few nuts.
The Cravens are sort of like Pacrats in a way, where they leave behind nuts in exchange for an item. In this case, the Sector of Explosiveness. Now they were delivering it to their master, all claws in hand on the Sector. Their master: Shadien.
When it arrived from a special tunnel open to all creatures of Shadow, Shadien cackled vilely. He then set it down on the pedestal central to the two other Sectors he had. All of them were glowing a fierce green now. All that was left was the tip and top of the Staff until it was complete. He then muttered under his breath, “Three down, two to go.”
~~~~

“Is the housing ready for the newly Corrupted?” the Shadow Sage Farn asked the Council. There was a tension in the air as more Corrupted were coming in every day. The population is getting gradually closer to where Shadien can leave Shadrax to initiate the summoning of Vien.

“All is set for the newcomers. We hope that we can make it before the Time Magicians can populate their cursed continent.” Councilor Reve stated. Wait, what? Why would this be a concern?

“Oh, right. If they get ahold of the Continuum Knight…” Farn shuddered after stating that. The Continuum Knight? Is that...

Chapter 26: Of the Dream from the Future

Hole in the Sky, ignoring everything going on around me. The Continuum Knight was an anomaly of even magical nature, and I needed to think. What does it have to do with the healing Timezonia?

I had conducted many experiments with trying to figure out what the Continuum Knight, and its companion, the Shade Warrior, for almost fifty years after its first discovery. Just what from I can guess, the Knight and the Shade Warrior are long time enemies, and when they disappeared off the radar for those few minutes, it was unknown what had happened wherever they were. Afterward, when the same flash of light appeared, Lord Darcius and Kaeomaeus appeared in the two’s stead. There was something very suspicious about the battlers and the fate of Magika. But what?

There was also the matter of TImezonia. Xhoen had to get there soon, for it is only weeks away from being ready to colonize. But, there is also the matter of the Staff of Destruction…just from my pop-ins to Shadrax, Shadien is nearly there to having assembled all the Sectors. And what can I do? Nothing, I am simply a recorder at this instance.

After further thought, I casually walked back to my desk, and, as usual, dodging the usual madness of the Hole in the Sky. The pen was there as I had left it, still dripping with ink. Where were we? Ah yes, Xhoen’s predicament…

~~~~
After the discovery of the Sector being missing, Xhoen almost grabbed his staff and sprinted out the door, relaying what he saw. But the crew needed the day off to prepare for flight tomorrow, and it would ruin the solemnity of the funeral for the late Captain Vason. Beaten by his own logic, Xhoen simply fell asleep in the soft armchair, having restless nightmares in the void of his mind…
~~~~

It was a peaceful, bright new day. The Time Magicians were all working their way into Timezonia, which was newly cleaned from the continent’s own magic. There were cheers of joy as the homeland of Time was repopulated, with many dances danced and songs being sung. Today was the day known as the Colonization of the Time Continent.

Xhoen was alongside Efrexa while watching the procession of Timezonians marching forth from the Temporal Tower, newly reconnected to Timezonia via a great bridge, and seeing the tents being pitched down to the ground. Efrexa looked to Xhoen and smiled, saying, “Today is the best day in history!” Xhoen agreed silently, ginning underneath his gruff exterior. Today was the best day in history.

There were camps being pitched, when there was a sudden boom in the distance. All activity stopped to stare over in the direction it came from. Xhoen glanced over to the area it came from. There was nothing to note, until there was another large boom, sending out a jet of pitch black dirt. What was happening?

In another moment, a crowd of dark shapes coming flooding from an enormous hole in the ground, each one vaguely familiar to Xhoen. When they began to come towards the camp of TIme Magicians, there was no doubt what they were when they came into view: Corrupted.

He ran down the hill he was on top of, and ordered, “Everyone, prepare for battle! Corrupted are coming!” The Time Magicians paused their pitching and readied their Stones for intense magical combat. Corrupted were nothing to sneeze at.

The horde was sprinting towards the Magicians, intent on destroying the Timien People once more. All of them brandished some sort of MagiTeknical weapon, or were glowing fiercely with Shadow Dust. These were not newborn Corrupted. These had been trained for battle, unlike the Time Magicians.

When the two fronts finally met, it was clear who would lose: the Corrupted, surprisingly. The Shadow Magic was retreating from the Time, which caused the Corrupted to weaken under the might of the Time Magicians. What was odd was that there were personages above the armies in the form of two knights, one a light blue, another a dark violet…

When the Corrupted were about to retreat, there was a deafening roar coming from the pit the Corrupted came from. Then, a massive flying shape came from it the flapping of wings making a great whoosh of wind every time they moved. When it flew high enough, it fell, falling behind the crowd of Corrupted. When the dust settled from the impact, the shape was now visible: Shadien, holding a dark red staff.

Shadien laughed, holding the point of the staff towards the army of terrified Time Magicians, which were tiny compared to him. He then announced in his sly voice, “Prepare for your kind to die yet again, through the Staff of Destruction!” The Staff glowed mroe fiercely, and with a massive jolt, it fired a fiery ball of fire, obliterating the last of the Time Magicians. Except for Xhoen.

After the people of TImien were killed, XHoen was ready for war. But, there was a strange buzzing in the air. Shadien then looked up, and beheld the great legs of an unknown being. He chuckled, and greeted, “Welcome to Magika, Great Lord Vien.”

“Prevent this future! Find the Continuum Knight!”

~~~~
Xhoen stood up, panting heavily from the horrid nightmare. He then said aloud, “It was al la dream…a dream, yes…” He calmed himself down by taking deep breaths, and thought about what the strange voice said at the end. “Prevent this future! Find the Continuum Knight!” What could it be?
The was a loud buzzing noise, and he noticed it was coming from his Viewer. He clicked the button ,and out on the screen appeared Ilian and Kexa. “About time you called. What is it about?” Xhoen asked.
“We’ve been trying to contact you for over a week! We were you?” Kexa exclaimed.
“I’d rather not mention. I am sorry to say that we have so far not been able to obtain any of the Sectors of the Staff of Destruction, and Vason has died…” Xhoen replied, his voice trailing off. Kexa looked a little heartbroken at the news ,along with Ilian next to her. But he shook his head, eliminating the sad thought.
Ilian then replied, “I am sorry for our loss, but there is something of great concern. Timezonia’s barrier is failing. It is nearly time to go back.”
Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 26 Posted)
IMPORTANT NOTICE!!
I am sorry to say dear readers that I have Writer's Block, and since I don't browse the forums like I used to, I have left my thoughts to wander on the subject on finishing the story. What I will tell you is that I am doing the bst I can to finish the War of the Logi and Magi, and when it is finished, I will post the rest of the chapters. And if I so choose to make a new book, then I will wait to post it until it is finished. Until then, here is one last chapter before the long wait begins.
Chapter 27: Of the Timezonian Recovery
“W-what? Are you absolutely sure? It isn’t supposed to be ready for another few months!” Xhoen exclaimed. Kexa shook her head.
“Apparently the estimates were wrong. The barrier is failing, we can see it from out of the window.” She turned it towards a window in the Tower, towards the crescent continent of Timezonia. There, it was clearly seen that a dark blue light was fading in and out, brightening and dimming. The barrier was indeed failing.
The camera turned back towards the twins, and Ilian asked, “We need you back here to organize the colonies! The Staff can wait!” Xhoen indeed knew that he was needed in the Temporal Tower. But without him, the next piece of the Staff might not be found.
He sighed, at the brink of indecision. when the strange voice echoed in his head yet again: “Prevent this future! Find the Continuum Knight!”. The Continuum instantly reminded him of the continent, Timezonia. Maybe he could find something there?
He then replied to Ilian’s plight, “I cannot abandon the Magikanos right now. The Staff could mean the destruction of the world right as we know it. But if the barrier is failing, it might be safe to go into it.” Kexa looked at him wide-eyed as if he was crazy.
“What are you, a crazy-head? You know what Jeremaeus did in there, he caused it to where hundreds of years passed in a minute!” Kexa yelled. He knew it would be indeed dangerous, but there was a loophole.
“I know very well that is what happened. But remember, the amulets. We are considered to have eternal life because of them. If I go in there with Efrexa, Krain, and you and Ilian, we can go in without anyone turning into dust.” Xhoen replied. He knew it was certainly a risk, and who knows what had happened to the continent in that time, but it was worth the risk. If they can find the Continuum Knight, that was the best place to start.
Kexa thought about it carefully noting the details. She sighed, then replied, “Alright, you’re the Sage. We’ll get everyone ready for departure. We’ll await you to come.” The Viewer fell dark, and with another click, it turned off.
Xhoen then got off of the armchair, grabbing his Staff, and walked out, noticing the faint hum of the engine. The Magikanos was getting ready for departure, with the crew all running about making last minute repairs. He narrowly dodged everything, just as I do in the Hole in the Sky, and made his way to the Captain’s cabin, where Krain, Serea and Efrexa where there waiting.
“Well, you sure took your sweet time, where’ve you been? It’s nearly noon!” Serea annoyedly asked. She must not have felt at peace with Vason for very long.
Xhoen glanced over out the nearby window, and sure enough, it was nearly high noon in the Mountahills. But he forgot that thought and went straight to business. “We need to head straight back to the Aerodocks.”
Krain had an immediate concern with this. “Um, aren’t we forgetting something? We need to find the other two Sector before the War of the Logi and Magi begins.” Confused, XHoen had no clue what that was about.
“Excuse me, War?”
“Yes, the War of the Logi and Magi. The Logi’s leader, the Enginerex, had discovered a Sector in the Willowoods, but lost it there. At the same time, the Magi’s leader, the Corlock, narrowly avoided death with a Thundsark, retrieving another Sector. The Sector was replaced with a fake soon after, and it is unknown where it went. The two groups blame each other for losing them ,and so declared war on each other. It will be in about four weeks before the first shot will be fired, each giving each other sufficient to get prepared.” Efrexa explained surprisingly detailed.
Serea was quite surprised at the attentive young woman. She had thought Efrexa had slept through half of it, but nope. Anyways, Serea continued, “Exactly right Efrexa. We need to find the other Sectors before the War begins. Why should we go back to the Aerodocks?” Xhoen could not explain what had happened to him in his dream, or with Kexa and Ilian for that matter. There needed to be another reason. Of course…
“The rest of the Sectors are inside Timezonia. I have felt it, and the barrier is failing there, I have seen it before my eyes when I was speaking with Kexa and Ilian about colonizing. The Sectors must be disrupting the magic of what the Seer had put in place.” Xhoen half-truthed. Wait what? Pause this instance…
~~~~

I willed the world to stop in its tracks, and behold, it did. Everything, from the tiniest speck of dust to the largest of fish, nothing was moving. I needed to find out if the last two Sectors were truly in Timezonia.

I walked from my desk, walking past the still figures of Pladias and Imps, and made it to the Hole in the Sky, the actual thing, not the location. The window was the gateway of view to the world below, and so I needed to use it to find out if Xhoen is right. I mean, he doesn’t often lie, you know.

“Hole, go to Timezonia, and scan the surroundings for any Sectors of the Staff of Destruction.” I declared. The Hole gave a slight hum ,and it gave a bird’s eye view of the crescent continent, now turning green from the healing. Ah, what a wonder it was to see my home.

I noticed it wasn’t getting any lower, so annoyedly, I ordered, “Hole, go down to the surface and allow me to investigate.” The Hole unwillingly zoomed in, knowing of the enchantment I set upon the place. It doesn’t like wandering through enchantments, as it messed up its gyroscope for a while, making it think up was down and vice versa.

Anyways, it zoomed in, and I my eyes met the dark green grass, sloping mountains, and deep blue lakes of the Time Continent. Oh, how long it has been since I saw this! But, there were no signs of any buildings left intact, as all of them have been worn to dust by now. What a shame…

Immediately after musing, there was an alarm blaring from the Hole. Concerned, I asked, “Hole, what is that alarm for? We couldn’t be under attack, could we?” The Hole hummed in a rushed manner, and it moved upwards, revealing the barrier that surrounded Timezonia. Instead of a blue like it had been, it was turning an increasing dark red. “What is happening? Hole, scout along the perimeter of the barrier.” It moved as I willed it, and it whisked around the edges of the magical fence, seeing nothing wrong. That is, until a dark shape flew by ,emitting dark magic. “Hole, slow down., and go back!” I yelled. The Hole obeyed, and after seconds of reverse, there I saw something, that broke the very laws of time itself thanks to my enchantment, I saw a mutated, I am sad to say, a mutated Junkta, and embedded in its back was a Sector of the Staff.

Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 27 Posted) Important Announcment!

I am glad to say that I have now overcome my writer's block, and have continued with the story. I now have a plot planned, and now just need to write the chapters. I expect to have fifty or more chapters when I am done, and so wil lgladly post this chapter, which marked the start of my writer's block midway through writing.

Chapter 28: Of the Final Sectors

I… I am lost for words at what I am seeing right now. The Junkta, a normally peaceful but mischievous creature, was at least seven feet tall and was converting magic! It shouldn’t have even survived the time period within the continent, let alone the explosion! But after further observation, it had not one Sector, but two! The last two sectors were inside the Junkta!

I was excited and stunned at the same time, but this quickly turned to fear as I saw the head of the Junkta turn towards me. There was a single red glowing eye in the middle of the junk that made up the creature, and it was not the mischievous creature it once was in a bygone era. It had an aura of darkness around it, but worse still, how did it know I was there?

Suddenly, one of its hands had let go of the wall, and came towards the window of the Hole in the Sky. I felt the draining of magic, as if it was getting sucked into a void of some sort. I suddenly realized what the Junkta was doing with the wall: It was vacuuming all of the magic that was used to create the wall. And it intended to do the same with the Hole in the Sky.

“Pull up… pull up Hole!!” I quickly demanded. The Hole hummed raggedly, feeling its lifeblood draining away. It zapped quickly to the safety of the atmosphere, and it stopped. The Junkta was not something to be messed with, especially for one who only lived thanks to magic. I could not go against it, nor anyone who needed magic to survive. There was a thought that came into my mind just then, so I left the Hole, saying “Recover, dear Hole in the Sky. YOu have done quite enough for now.”

Time had restarted in the Hole in the Sky, and everyone was perplexed as to what had happened with me and the Hole in the Sky. “What was that?” Yewmaeus asked, and “What was taking our magic?” Urimaea asked. I ignored all of these queries and went straight to the circling Cores, who were glowing back and forth, as if in conversation. I cleared my throat, and readied my piece.

“Timien, what had just happened. According to what you seven had said, the Sectors of the staff had the listed abilities: Massive infernos, immense natural disasters, explosive energies, the power of destruction by attraction, and the ability to age things to dust. Am I not right?” I questioned in a sincere tone.None of the Sectors were supposed to steal magic, so I needed to make sure.

The Cores bristled with light, and out came the seven holograms of the great and benevolent Dragons, with Timien at the forefront. He had his eyes closed, and he had folded his arms in claws as if disappointed about something. He then spoke, retaining the same posture, “All of that is true, except for the last. The final sector we were unsure about, as we had never seen its powers used in our battle with Vien. For all we know, it could have the power of the elimination of enchantments. Essentially, the destruction of magic itself. Junktas do not have the ability to do such a thing, so that would be the only option just from logical reasoning.” There was murmuring in the crowd, all speaking of what use they could be against suc ha foe.

“But, that does not mean it will absorb magic that attacks it. As said by Timien, it can only absorb enchantments, such as the ones that preserve the Pladias here in the Sky.” Aquien continued. There was a more settled down atmosphere in the room. “But, a lot of the materials of Magika are enchantments, and due to the fact that only battle magics are not enchantments, it is still extremely hazardous.” he continued. Another question buzzed around in my head like a swarm of Moonflies, needing to be answered.

“But what about Timezonia? If the spell that I used to heal it was being sapped away, does that mean that it is not ready to inhabit?” Timien smiled slightly at my question.

“It is only recently that the Junkta began to steal away the magic. Do not worry, only a smidgen of the magical waste created by the Oilic Catastrophe remains in Timezonia, and that will fade away quickly. It is ready to colonize.” I happily thought of the TIme Magicians coming to the continent to finally return home. but then there was the dream (in case you are wondering I can record anything including the events in dreams).

I then asked yet again, “It is safe to enter, yes, but what of the Continuum Knight? Is there-” I was cut off by a sudden whoosh coming from the Hole, and everyone turned their heads to see what it was. I carefully snuck over to investigate, and there was a metal tube emitting a faint blue glow just at the foot of the Hole. I picked it up, noticing the familiar signature of Time Magic. Then, a symbol appeared on the tube, which were two triangles inside a circle, forming the shape of an hourglass. Within the symbol, there was the letter ‘C’.

~~~~
Alright, before we get farther, let me, Quill, give you a recap on what was happening in the Magikanos:
“Really, the last two Sectors are there, I can sense it!” Xhoen claimed yet again after hearing the others disagree with the plight.
Krain massaged his head from hearing what he would consider ridiculousness, and while doing so replied, “We can understand that, Xhoen, but until we get some substantial proof, I’m afraid that we cannot make such a foolhardy decision!” Just after this was said, a portal opened in the back of the room, dropping a metal tube, with two triangles within a circle, alike to the symbol of Time.
The portal had closed, but no one had noticed it yet, so the conversation had continued with Xhoen questioned Krain, “Well, I hear no one else giving any suggestions as to where the remaining Sectors are currently, so why not just go with my enhanced instincts and go there!” As if the sentient power was peeved, the portal opened yet again, and it had a small pebble float out, and whoosh by, hitting Efrexa on the back of the head.
“Ouch! What was that for?” Efrexa exclaimed while rubbing her head from the pain, and also looking back to see where the stone had come from. The debate had paused, and would have started again soon had it not been for Efrexa.
Serea questioned in a perplexed matter, “I didn’t see anyone throw anything towards you, Efrexa, but it might have been some pranking crewmen.” Krain continued on with his own statement, oblivious as to what Efrexa was retrieving.
“Yeah, I figured they weren’t the most trustworthy of Magikans, but they know their way about the ship. Anyway, about Timezon-”
“Efrexa, what is that in your hands?” Xhoen asked as he saw Efrexa retrieving the tube. Serea and Krain redirected their attention over to where Efrexa was, in the back of the room, stooped down and with her back towards the other three.
She stood up, turned around, and was turning around the tube to see what exactly it was. She then noticed a slip of paper bound by a string attached to the tube, labelled, ‘From the Seer’. She slipped it off, and held it up for everyone to see. She then stated, “I think we have a delivery from the Seer.”
Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 28 Posted) Block Overcome!
Just so you know, I am currently finishing up Chapter 44, so it will not be too much longer before the story is finished and ready for the final posting. Here is one to pass the time.
Chapter 29: Of the New Strategy
Alright, time for me to take over. Move aside, Quill. And you, George, stop eating him!
“The Seer? Who is the Seer? Have I missed something important while I was stranded on that island Xhoen?” Serea questioned peevely. It can be quite tiresome for the fact that not many people on Magika remember me as the Seer of the Hole in the Sky. In fact, very few even know about my living space. They really only know that the Dragons exist, except that they are currently Cores.
Efrexa handed the tube over to Xhoen, and he inspected it for any sort of enchantment, for which there was none. I made sure of it when I read it. Wait for a moment, you will know soon enough what it says.
He then popped open the tube from the side, and pulled out a scroll, which looked to be brand new. On it, there were glowing symbols, which only people from the era of Lord Darcius could read. Thankfully, Xhoen was one of these people. He cleared his throat, then began to read from the scroll:
“Greetings, Sage Xhoen, leader of the Time Magicians and Wielder of the Staff of Timien. I bid you good luck for the future ahead, for I know all of it. You do not know me however. My name is the Continuum Knight.
I gave you a special vision of what could come to pass unless you come to me in Timezonia. It is a grim fate not just for you and Timien’s followers, but for all of Magika. I must tell you information that is far too sensitive to be written on this scroll. I will now tell you where to find me.
In the changed lands of Time, there are great plains to the far east, and in the south there are many lakes. The north, a plentiful forest, and the west contains ideal shoreline for many cities. Find the crack in the veins of Timien in the center of these many biomes to find me. And you may also find the exact objects to prevent the desolate future: The last two Sectors of the Staff of Destruction.
I await you and the Seer of the Hole in the Sky to come here. I do not care when, but it must be soon. Lord Vien will soon be released from his prison, and you must know what I will tell you. I bid you farewell until we meet in person.
The Continuum Knight”
Xhoen stopped reading and pondered as to how the Continuum Knight knew about him and his dream. But now, if there was vital information from the Knight, it must be retrieved.
“Alright, I will ask again, who is the Seer? And who is this Continuum Knight? I have been really out of the loop for many years.” Serea exclaimed yet again. Xhoen turned towards Serea once more.
He then replied, “For the Seer, he is someone we can trust. Nothing more on the matter” How aptly put. He then continued, “For the Knight, he was someone that I was told to find in a vision from the future, and unless I find him, disastrous things could happen.”
“How disastrous?” Krain asked. He was paying attention throughout the entire reading, as was everyone else, but he was particularly interested.
Xhoen with a heavy heart replied, “The destruction of the Time Magician population.” The enormity of what lay at stake aside from the Staff of Destruction was clear to Serea, Efrexa, and Krain now, and so felt in their hearts to-
“We will go with your plan, Xhoen. We will set a course directly to the Aerobor, so that we can go without a crew. It would not be wise to bring them with us to Timezonia, with the war starting.” Serea interrupted. I was going to write that! For myself I mean!
Ugh, anyway, Xhoen smiled slightly, but knew the risks. Without a crew, the Magikanos would be harder to manage, and Krain particularly would have to handle the engine all by himself. Serea and Efrexa would have to handle all of the other work while he himself steered, as he was the only other capable of doing so.
But he looked to the future, and hoped for the best. Orders were given out to steer the ship to the Aerobor, and so in but moments, the Magikanos was out of the Mountahills, and in the skies.
~~~~

Back in the Centrien, the remaining Sages of Flamien, Lifeien, Aquien, and Aerien were desperately trying to make the two figureheads of the Logi and Magi, the Enginerex and Corlock, reconsider this declaration of war. But no statements so far have shifted their minds.

There were seven large wooden chairs, seated around the walls of the circular room. Each was intended for each of the seven Sages left in Magika, and four of them were currently seated. The Corlock and the stood in the center of the room, constantly arguing their point.

“We have been on edge ever since the Magi formed, Magic must go and the pieces of the magical artifact must be handled by me, the Enginerex, and no other!” the Enginerex exclaimed.

The Sage of Aerien, Remes, replied back, “I will not argue the motives of the Logi, just the fact that war will endanger everyone in the world, including the Xhoenists! We cannot have war in this time, it would endanger ourselves and the rest of Magika!” The Corlock snorted in reply.

“So be it then. The Logi must fall, and as long as the Enginerex and his followers live, I will not stop the War.” The Enginerex let off more steam in rage.

“I will not die so long as that head remains attached to your body!” the Enginerex roared. He nearly had made a move to attack, but breaking the rules of war was hazardous. He must wait the four week period, or else terrible things would happen to himself and his people.

Before the debate could continue, one of the Enginerex’s assistants came through the door and whispered into the Enginerex’s headpiece. The Enginerex grunted with approval, and announced to the rest of the people in the room as the assistant left, “I am sorry to say I must leave to an important activity. I promise to be back after the War begins however. I will not miss that. So long…” And so the Enginerex left, to the as-of-yet unknown activity, leaving the Corlock and the four Sages by themselves.

Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 29 Posted) Nearly ready!

The story has now been completed, and I will do my best to post every so often. With a vacation coming up, it will be difficult. But I will post this next chapter for you to enjoy.

Chapter 30: Of the Plan in Action

In the Magikanos, things were not much different than before, except the likeable Vason was gone, so the crew were not as joyful as they were before. Also, they had all heard through various means that the War of the Logi and Magi was coming soon, and so there were many leery glances throughout the entire ship, with not many trusting each other.

Xhoen was currently fixing his room from the crash landing of the Magikanos. He was particularly disappointed about his armchair, which had suffered gashes along the exterior, and so went to great lengths to repair it. So far, the best he has done is to use some fabric that looks somewhat like it and pasting it on. It still doesn’t look the same.

Serea was wandering throughout the decks of the ship to maintain a steady atmosphere for the crew. It would not be a good time to have a sudden riot because of the Logi and Magi. So, she tried making entertaining jokes and discussing with the crew. She isn’t really a people person, and so several times a worker or two ended up with a broken nose.

Krain was thinking of Vason through the last remnants of him, the remote and the Quake Mallet. A new Sage was needed for Bouldrien, and so Krain also pondered about who would make a nice candidate. So far, no one has come to mind, so the Mallet lays in the hands of Krain, slumbering until a new master arises.

Efrexa was in the engine room learning as much as she can about the main mechanic of the ship so she could assist Krain when needed. The engineers were a bit delighted to have an observer, and since most of them were Logi, there wasn’t much tension. Efrexa was still thinking in her mind, though, as to how bad the War would be.

And so a week passed, with the Magikanos suffering no significant dropbacks or events. It was just a mooring into the Aerobor, and when the crew went out for refreshing, Krain left behind enough credit for all the crew in a sack on the dock, making sure it was magically protected from thieves, and immediately began to ready the Magikanos for take-off. They had enough supplies for the trip to Timezonia, and so did not need to rest.

Xhoen quickly went up into the control room, readying the steering systems and adjusting the wheel. He slowly mumbled to himself as he worked, “This Continuum Knight had better be the real deal, or else we are four dead magicians. This will not be making a return trip...for the better.” The Magikanos was a special ship, and if it was refueling and all sorts of other things, it was in more danger of sabotage. Besides, there was no time for any of that.

Krain was making last minute maintenance checks so the engine would be in tip-top condition for the ride ahead. It will be difficult maintaining a large engine with no assistance. But then Efrexa came in, offering a helping hand, stating, “I’ve watched the engineers in my free time, you know Krain. I can help!” Krain at first had a stern face, but he lightened up.

“As long as you can keep up with my breakneck orders, you can stay. Just one slip-up, and you’re fired! Understand?” Krain lightheartedly yelled. Efrexa gave a mock salute, and began work on checking the dials and adjusting the wheels. He was serious about the breakneck orders, but not the firing. I think.

Anyway, Serea was the last one, and was of course in charge of unfurling the sails and preparing all of the other mechanics of the ship. She was perfectly adapted to lonesome work, thanks to her time of Counight Isle, and even enjoyed peace and quiet. Although she did have a habit of cursing things she hated, in which I will not write because of my better judgement.

Within minutes, the Magikanos was backing out of the dock, and just moments later, the immense ship speeded out to the open sky, and just in time as well. The crew had just come back, and saw that their ride was gone. Confused, they saw the sack ,and when they saw what was inside, they instantly began quarreling over how much money each person gets. Greedy shipswabbers!

~~~~
Little did the Magikanos know that there was another ship leaving the exact day, time, and even, to the same place. The Enginerex made it to the Aerobor, and has left just after the Magikanos. He knew about the last two Sectors thanks to his assistant that came in just a week before. He must have the last two sectors if his clan depends on it. Albeit, he does not know what will be guarding the last of the Sectors, like the Willowgang, but he knew it would be difficult. That is why he came far better prepared.
With a battleship filled to the brim with men and weapons, all down to the last laser was high quality and extremely lethal tech, all powered by crystals. In other terms, Magic. And what awaits the Enginerex? An enchantment-thirsty monster capable of sucking in the most powerful of magics. Yeah, like that will stop it.,
But the Enginrex hates magic of any sort, so he relies on a new form of power: Electricity. He had charged many batteries for his own battlesuit, and so would not rely on magic of any sort. He had a deep fear of reliance upon magic, and for a good reason too. I will not say though, just one hint: It lies inside the suit he hides in.
Anyway, he had left the Aerobor, and since it was a heavy ship rather than a light one like the Magikanos, it would be safe to assume they could not keep up. But, the Magikanos was under-manned, and so they had to travel slower to maintain good engineering throughout the ship. The ship that the Enginerex rode in, the Shaglie, was completely filled with mechanics working round the clock and making any sort of repairs needed. He was ready to pursue the Magikanos, because he knew they would lead him to the Sectors.
Chapter 31: Of the Sage of Shadow's Plan
Down in Shadrax, the Sage of Shadow, Farn, was walking throughout the once-beautiful cities of old. Relaren, the top producing city involving metals and ores, was the current one he was in, and it was one of his personal favorites as well. For you see, this city fell because it was believed there was no more ore in the mountain. He proved the other Corrupted wrong.
Relaren was situated around the enormous underground mountain, Mount Thrada, the largest mountain in Shadrax. It was said to be so high that if someone stood on top of it, one could touch the barrier between the two worlds. But no one has dared to, because of the brittle frame of the peak. THe reason why was because the massive tunnels crisscrossing inside made the mountain so fragile, that an earthquake could make it collapse. But, earthquakes never happen in Shadrax, and so it stays. But the main purpose of the mountain was to mine out many metals and gems for the massive military might of the Shadow Bots in the days of Lord Darcius.
Relaren soon became one of the main three cities in Shadrax, and made it so Darcius could retrieve as much metal as he did. Thousands of bots could be created from the metal inside, and there seemed to be no end. That is, until rivers of lava were discovered.
Because Shadrax was underground, the lava underneath the land above would surely pop up sometime in Shadrax. When the miners reached the deepest part of their shafts, they encountered a lake in which molten rock flowed. But, they could never freeze or cool it in anyway, as the only magic they could use was mechanical, being without even Shadow magic at the time. And so with the main production of Relaren gone, the Corrupted left to settle new developments, as there was nothing left for the mighty mountain of Mount Thrada.
But Farn knew that there was more metal inside the mountain, beneath the lava and within the mantle of the planet. From his studies of Earth Magic, it was all but confirmed that Magika was solid earth, with few lava lakes and rivers throughout the planet. They just came across a particularly large one, so large that Relaren could fit inside.
And so he made a new shaft, miles away from the main city, and with a private crew of miners, he made it deeper than the others have ever done, and so began tunneling underneath Mount Thrada. And what did he find? Not metal, but a strange gas, a gas so heavy it could be seen on the ground, spreading out and making a fog.
Not having any ill effects from breathing it, Farn made Relaren a center of private research on this gas. It was so private that no one except his researchers and the Council knew about it. He wanted to know how this gas could be used, and fast. It could prove effective in Shadrax, where everyone was a thief or a murderer of some sort. Or, any crime against the Ordinance of Goodwill.
And so he walked throughout the city, studying the ruined, three story buildings and the many ventilation shafts littered throughout the roads. He quire enjoyed seeing mistreatment, even if it was of his own people. And why shouldn’t he? He was the Sage of Shadow, the most vile of the Corrupted.
Just as he was enjoying the muse, he heard a subtle whoosh, an unnatural one considering that there was no wind. He turned around, and saw nothing except ruined constructions of the Corrupted. That and lots of Shadows.
Shadien came crawling through the shadows, with his almighty frame scraping the ground. He was in an perturbed mood, hating to dwell anywhere else but his beloved Vigil of Shadow, because of the wretchedness of the Corrupted. Despite wanting to make everyone the same as them, he hated all Magikans, except for the Sage. That was one to keep.
He snorted out a wheeze of hot air, hitting a rock and crumbling it through the brittleness of it. “Why would you ask me to come here, Farn? I have far more important things to do, like trying to find the last two Sectors of the Staff of Destruction! I need them to succeed with my plan!” Shadien exclaimed in disgust of Relaren.
Farn was prepared for an outburst from the draconian beast, and cleared his throat. He then replied, “Sir, I have important news from the research outpost situated inside Mount Thrada, about the gas I discovered. I think you will like it.” Shadien snorted yet again.
“What does it matter? I am more concerned with the destruction of the world rather than the exploration of it! Why should I see?” Shadien argued. Farn chuckled a vile one.
“Because, almighty Shadien, it could let us get exactly what we want: Death.”
~~~~

Two weeks after the initial launch of the Magikanos, they were not doing well. Despite Krain and Efrexa’s best care, the engine was failing because of a variety of reasons, the main one being the fact that it had to constantly run, and they couldn’t. Xhoen had to set the Magikanos on auto-pilot so they could make it to Timezonia on time before the War, and they were just barely within a week to make it to the coast.

At this moment, Krain was tiredly fixing the knobs, yawning at almost every minute of his ordeal. Efrexa was no better, nearly dozing off at some instances. She yawned out while turning a loose knob, “Are we close to Timezonia? We are running at such a slow speed that a Rewren could pass us. “ Krain yawned in response.

“Xhoen even has to rest, and it is not safe for the auto-pilot to be faster than this speed of 20 Magimeters an hour, andi f you don’t like, you drive!” Krain responded. There wasn't much talk besides little banter here and there. Serea was simply sleeping through her many chores up on the second floor, so she wasn’t willing to steer either. It was all up to Xhoen.

Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 31 Posted) Will post often!

I am sorry for the delay, but my family has been getting ready for vacation, and won't be back for the next few weeks. I promise I will post when I can, but it may have to weait until afterward. Here's a chapter.

Chapter 32: Of the Impact of the Magikanos

In the absence of interesting events (besides the Shaglie, the Enginerex’s ship, tailing behind the Magikanos just out of sight), I simply pass the time messing with the imps. They are actually quite funny when you actually want them to destroy stuff. When they aren’t, it can be devastating. Like now for instance, Renaldo was destroying a priceless copy of my journal! Stop that at once!

Ahem, anyway, I will not detail any of that, so I will simply wait a week before I write again. Ta ta!

Six days later…

Ah, what a nice day! The sun is shining, the ocean is calm, the Magikanos is crashed on the beach- wait, the Magikanos is crash on the beach?! Ah, this is what I get for ignoring the world for a week, letting quills take over my job!

I sifted through the scrolls over the past six days, and found the event that caused this unfortunate thing. ‘In the morning of the day before they would finally reach Timezonia and the rift, there was an immense storm that blew the Magikanos off-course, and onto the southern end of Timezonia’s crescent continent. They all survive, but are even now still asleep-” What rubbish!

I make the Hole zoom in on the wreck of the Magikanos, now hopelessly destroyed beyond repair. The solar panels were all cracked, the supplies all spread throughout the site, and even Xhoen’s marvelous chair, obliterated! Oh, if I could do something!

Xhoen slowly woke up at the steering wheel, groggy from the ordeal in the storm and completely disoriented. He put his arm up to the intercom, using the Staff of Timien as a support, and yelled, “Urrgh, this is the pilot speaking, are all crew members fine below? Uggh…” He then fell backwards onto his back, still recovering from the banging from the storm. He then mumbled aloud, “Ugh, how did we end up in this mess?” Well, that is a funny story, now that I’ve been reading here.

In the middle of the night, a small tube ended up popping out of a small island, and what it did was it began pumping a heavy gas. What was strange is that the heavy gas rolled across the tiny island, and when it made contact with the water, it suddenly expanded, creating an extremely light gas. It floated up, meeting up with the Magikanos, and the gas hit the boosters outside. With a deep rumble, the gas exploded, destroying the boosters, and only giving moments for the crew of the Magikanos to make it to land.

How this happened? Farn the Sage of Shadow was on top of Mount Thrada, the first to do so, and with the limited power of his magic, he was able to make a tube penetrate the barrier, and it was connected to a large tank of the gas he had discovered. He knew that it would contact water sometime, and thanks to his flocks Cravens, he knew that the Magikanos would soon be overhead in the sky. So he pumped the gas through, and immediately took the tube and sealed the hole. “That should stop them from finding anything in Timezonia.” mused Farn. Carefully, he hiked down the mountain top, with the canister being dumped down the other side by his cronies. There was no need of it anymore, and who would notice the waste among all the other junk?

Back at the wreckage, Krain brought himself up just like Xhoen did, except he was buried underneath a mass of metal rods and pipes, which is one reason the Magikanos could no longer be repaired. The mechanisms for flight were extremely sensitive, and with the engine all but ruined, there was no repairing, just replacing it with an entire new engine.

He crawled himself out, dodging some particularly sharp rods, and found his way to the intercom, hearing Xhoen’s announcement. When he did reach it, he replied, “Krain here. Just a bit woozy, that’s all. Engine is completely ruined, though. No way can we make the Magikanos fly again.” Xhoen in the captain’s room silently cursed. Now they’ll have to go on foot.

Efrexa popped out from inside her bedroom, and she didn’t bother to change because she was so tired from the work in the engine room. All the closets and such were knocked over and smashed, making the pretty fashionable living space a disaster. She stumbled around the wreckage, and spoke through her own intercom, “Efrexa here, nothing broken except the furniture. I like it that the intercoms are in every room.” It was true, Krain did strategically place the intercoms in case of emergency, even in the bathroom.

Serea was in her own room, alike to Efrexa, and was stumbling around in the same manner that Efrexa did as well. She found the intercom, half buried in scrap wood, but she unburied it. She finally announced, “Serea here. Was it your tired driving that caused us to crash, Xhoen? If so, I knew you should have gone to auto-pilot!” Xhoen groaned in response.

He brought himself upright, and announced again, “In case anybody was wondering, I was fully alert when the crash started. Something destroyed the engines, and so we fell out of the sky like a shot Craven.” He thought about his predicament some more, and announced again, “Also, get out of the ship and to the outside. We must continue our way to the rift if we expect to find the Continuum Knight, and fast! Tomorrow the War begins!” So everyone struggled to find the door, and after hours of waiting and escaping, the Magikanos was finally abandoned to the elements.

Krain stated as he studied the wreckage from a distance, now out of the engine room, “Well, there goes some years of work down the drain. But, we must look to the future. On to the rift!” And so the long walk began, in the mid morning sun, and a strange land to discover. For after all, hundreds of thousands of years can change a place, you know.

Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 32 Posted) On vacation...

Well, I am finally back from my vacation, and will try to post several chapters daily when I can. I hope to make it to the epilogue, and so until tomorrow, here you are.

Chapter 33: The Aftermath of the Magikanos

“Well, did the gas kill them, Farn?” Shadien asked impatiently. He was wanting the last of his worries to go with the Magikanos, as he knew for a fact that the ship was downed. How he hated its namesake! Um, I won’t say anything else on that matter.

Farn inspected the crash site using his Time Magic, using the Continuum that he could access to see the world, in the shape of an orb in his hands. He thought that there was no movement, but out of the corner of his eye, he saw the four proceeding northward up the continent, not anywhere near dead. He sighed with disappointment, and replied, “I am sorry, my lord. They survived the crash, but it will be impossible for them to get back to Magitol with the Magikanos down. They are stranded on Timezonia.” Within the Onyx Chamber of the Vigil, Shadien’s teeth gleamed with delight. Now he just needed the fool Enginerex to do his work.

~~~~
Speaking of the Enginerex, he was overhead the Magikanos now, seeing now that things will get trickier with the ship down. From his view in the steering room, he now knew that they must proceed on foot if they expect to follow Xhoen and his team. “Pilot, lower us down, and unload. We will proceed on ground level.” the Enginerex ordered the steersman. He did so, and lowered them down next to the site, and landed smoothly across the ground.
The men inside immediately began to get ready for exiting the Shaglie, packing supplies, weapons, and everything necessary for a long hike. Then, in the midst of this process, the Enginerex announced, “Attention all Logi. I will only want any trackers aboard to come with me to follow the Sage of Time. The rest of you will maintain the ship and protect it from anything with ill wills.Understood?” There was a large crowd of moaning in response, but they followed anyway. The Enginerex was their leader after all.
The dozen or so trackers that were inside came outside of the ship, walking out of the main loading bay on the side of it. The soil was untouched for many, many years, so they instinctively took samples of it so they could send it to the scientists back in Magitol. That was part of their job after all. When the Enginerex came stomping down the steps in his fully equipped battlesuit, and roared, “We are not here for a science expedition, so find out where the four cowards went!” The trackers immediately dropped any half finished samples and went to the crash site, looking for any signs of where Xhoen, Efrexa, Krain, and Serea went. The Enginerex was not going to stop looking for what they were looking for just because of a ship crashing.
~~~~

Xhoen and the others were currently speeding along the great plains of Timezonia like a breeze, or like a Time Magician. Xhoen and Efrexa were using their magic to hurriedly dash across Timezonia to find the rift, and since they were on the far south end of the continent from the last check on the Magikanos, going north was the best way to start. Sadly, it was mostly silent throughout the journey, and it remained the same until dusk came, when they were close to the center of the landform. And completely tired at that. The speeding really wore out their Magik Stones. So, in the beginning of the night, they took off their tattered cloaks(which became that way through their escape from the wreckage), and lay them on the ground for what rest they could get.

With the makeshift campsite in preparation, Xhoen looked inside his bag(which he managed to save from the wreckage besides himself), and seen what could be there. Upon sighting, he put his arm inside, and dragged out a pile of rocks that was shaped vaguely like a person. “Terra! How long have you been in there?” Xhoen exclaimed. Serea, Efrexa, and Krain heard, and came closer as the little Pebblezog came clambering out, being held by his primitive arm.

Terra, after he hid in there to make the escape from the Mountis easier, had enjoyed his pebbles and started to explore the inside, making note of the marvelous things within that Xhoen had squirreled away. Of course, in an Infinite-Space, time sort of slows on the inside but not the out, so he quickly lost track of time, now more hungry than ever. He was wanting to find a new gravel pit, and soon.

He explained his story to them via writing in the soft soil, and immediately waved goodbye, detecting a new gravel pit. His little cogs began working ,and he soon trotted off, almost assuredly gaining a sense that he will have a nice large pit, all for himself.

Serea, utterly confused about the instance, asked, “So, Terra was hidden in your bag the entire time? We sort of forgot about him haven’t we?” Xhoen shrugged in response, not really knowing how else to respond. he peered inside a bit longer, finding nothing to support them in terms of camp gear.

“Well, to divert off of the subject of Terra, I will say that out of the myriad of objects I have in my bag, I sadly have no camping supplies. So, we had better wrap ourselves up tight tonight. It could be a cold one.” Xhoen announced. Krain harumphed at the thought.

He then continued, “All of this just to meet somebody we’ve never encountered! We traveled past miles of plains, with nothing but, and I was carried on the back of a person, who was also carrying a cranky old woman!” Serea gave Krain a cold stare after hearing what she heard. He then protected himself by saying, “Who looks quite young for her age!”

Serea, already peeved with the way she was carried across Timezonia, replied, “Uh, speak for yourself Krain. You are well over two thousand years old by my reckoning. Get some ugly sleep, since you don’t have any beauty left.” Krain chose not to reply for better judgement, and settled down in his cloak.

Efrexa did the same, thinking about the tiring, yet beautiful journey she had today. To think, she was in the homeland of the ancient Time Magicians. But, it was probably a lot more beautiful in its era, with having more forests and lakes and the such. She thought nothing more of it, and fell asleep for the long trip tomorrow.

Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 33 Posted) I'm back!!

Chapter 34: Of the Enginerex's Plan

Despite the hours, the Enginerex continued with his tracking of Xhoen and his gang. To make sure they could keep up with the breakneck pace of the Time Magician, he brought out a set of MagiCycles designed for the smooth plains, and rode one along with his trackers, checking the ground every so often to make sure they kept following the quatro. They were now only an hour away from their target, as their cycles could match the speed of a magic-using Time magician. It was now nearly midnight, with the cycles going on hours after the magicians had stopped, and now they will be ready.

The Enginerex thought about what the four were searching for, besides the last two Sectors of course. What would he find? A treasure trove of long lost Timezonian treasure? A new power source to enhance the Logi? Or a way to utterly obliterate the Magi? He hadn’t a clue. Just that it was important to Xhoen, and that was all.

He was riding the enhanced MagiCycle, capable of going for over twenty-four hours in a single trip, without ever stopping. It was designed for speed and longevity, but was sadly lacking in military features. Thankfully, the Logi were enough to sustain that area, with their technology being more than enough to make up for it. The trackers were in cycles alike to the Enginerex, all riding with their LogiPistols, primed and ready for dust-fueled power shots.

But, there was a bit of a slack noticed by the Enginerex, seeing that they were beginning to slow their quick speed. He figured that the trackers were growing tired, and were stopping so they could rest. Not wanting this to happen, he roared out in the artificial wind, “Keep up the pace, you weaklings! We must get to them before morning comes! Now, speed up!!” the trackers immediately brought their speed up, not wanting to face the fury of the Enginerex at this time of night. Who knows what could happen.

~~~~
Hours later, morning came, the Magikan sun slowly rising over the landscape of Timezonia. I would describe it with the trees whooshing, the birds chirping. But instead, there were guns being loaded and cycles revving up. The trackers and the Enginerex had found Xhoen and his party (I would like it if there was a better name for them, but oh well), and have rested for the rest of the night. After waking with only a few hours of sleep behind their eyes, they all woke the same time their leader did, knowing the consequences for not doing so. They were now surrounding Xhoen and his party, pistols loaded and wits sharp for any magical tricks.
Efrexa was the first to wake, thinking that she was hearing the rustling of clothing nearby, and slowly brought her torso upright, still sitting on the ground. Gradually, she stretched, oblivious to the men in front of her as her eyes were closed. When she finally rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, she saw a pistol in front of her face, with the owner of the gun grinning with intent. She then screamed out of fear, and Serea, Xhoen, and Krain woke up instantly, with Krain and Xhoen grabbing their Artifacts, and aiming them at the now noticed miniature army.
They swiftly stood up, and just as Xhoen was going to fire a magical blast, he heard a familiar voice announce, “Oh, I wouldn’t do that, Sage Xhoen.” He looked behind him, and saw a terrified Efrexa in the embrace of a mechanized suit, a large cannon pointed at her head. It then also said, “I came a long way to find you, you know. And, just some advice for the future, don’t bring little girls on vacations involving the Logi.” Xhoen lowered his staff, its glow of intensity fading away. Krain did the same, keeping his Artifact ready but not firing. Serea lowered her hands, the glow on them also fading.
Krain then recognized the figure, and declared, “Ah, the Enginerex, the first to take a teen and threaten her so his leadership isn’t questioned. How brave…”
“I will not be insulted, Krain. I want one thing and one thing only: The last two Sectors of the magical artifact that fell from the sky. When I have them, I will destroy the Magi, and all magic with it! It is thanks to magic that I am how I am now!” The Enginerex threatened. He then continued, “If you don’t comply, fine. This young woman will just have one less head to worry about. And don’t worry, her magic won’t affect me. Thanks to some of my inventions, Time magic no longer affects me.” He motioned towards a bluish grey crystal on his chest, glowing with power. It was a Time Amulet, capable of stopping time magic of all sorts.
Xhoen stood silent as he studied the situation. Twelve lightly armed Logi, and an ultra powered leader, surrounded them, and he had a dual wielding Mage, and an Electrien Sage that could easily take care of them. But, the leader had his young apprentice, one that he had grown very fond of over these past months, and could not bear to be without. There was only one option at this point.
Xhoen let out his pent up breath, and replied to the Enginerex, “Krain, Serea, put away your magic. If the Enginerex wants the Sectors, he can have them.” Krain and Serea both were shocked at this proposition, and began to argue the prospect. But, when they saw the cannon next to Efrexa’s head firing up, the obliged, and they settled their magic, with Krain putting away the Shocking Cube.
Pleased, the Enginerex led Efrexa to his own cycle, and locked her onto a second seat behind the driver’s, using a set of chains supplied with it. “I will not kill her, but you will lead me to where you are going. If I lose sight of you, or you rebel, say goodbye to the girl.” The Enginerex stated. “Oh, and don’t worry, your friends can ride with other cycles as to make sure you aren’t impaired. Do we have a deal?” Xhoen, having no will to do anything else, told Krain and Serea to ride with the other riders, and he prepared his own self to go through the ordeal. With a heavy heart, he speeded north, with the Enginerex giving the order to follow. With captives in tow, the Logi were on their way to their key to victory.
Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 34 Posted) I'm back!!
Chapter 35: Of the Rift and the Junkta
The morning dragged on, with Efrexa tearing up because of how useless she was, Xhoen disappointed that he could do nothing to help, and Krain and Serea thinking of how to stop the Enginerex. But, until they reached the rift, there was no good plan of action. The only one positive about this strange turn of events was the Enginerex, who was excited to finally have his Sectors of the Staff of Destruction. Little did he know of the danger that will require.
Several hours later, a pulsing blue shine in the sky caused Xhoen and the thirteen MagiCycles to stop in their tracks, wondering what it could possibly be. ‘Is that the rift?’ Efrexa and the others thought when they saw it. The squad proceeded again slowly, when Xhoen continue walking at a normal pace, noting the large amount of Time Dust in the area. It normally did not come down in amounts like this, but it could be in part of the rift. And so they continued, the shine from the sky growing brighter.
~~~~

“Are the preparations ready, Kexa?” Ilian asked as he grabbed the last set of boxes necessary for the trip. The Temporal Tower was a hub of activity the day they heard that Timezonia was ready to populate. The ships in the hangar were reenergized, the supplies all loaded, and everyone packed their belongings for the long trip.

Kexa came out of an adjacent doorway inside the Tower, alongside Ilian as they walked down the steps. “Almost, we just have to load everyone on, and start the weeklong trip to Timezonia. I can’t wait, Xhoen’s said we could stay here after everybody’s sorted out on the mainland, so we’ll have an empty house for once!” She replied. They were also gradually walking down the steps to the hangar as well, trading banter as to how nice life will be once the children are out of their hair, the couple’s in their own homes, and the forests and rivers that all of Timezonia will have when they're through.

Down in the hangar, large crowds of Time Magicians were gathered to pack up for the long trip, and they slowly came on board into their cabins, all loaded up. Kexa and Ilian had done quite well to make sure everything was in order for the colonization, and were definitely ready to leave. THey brought down the last box to the last ship’s cargo hold, and the crowds had diminished a lot, the twosome gave the long awaited order of “Anchor’s way! To Timezonia!” There were cheers as the boats came out of the main exit, single file and onto the open sea, and slowly chugging their way to Timezonia. The colonization had begun.

~~~~
Over the next hour with Xhoen, there were numerous occasions in which the bikes had to stop because of dust getting into the cooling system of the engine. After the zillionth time, the bikes were abandoned, unworking because the engines overheating. In this instance, Serea felt woozy, feeling sick on the inside, like something was crawling into her. But the Logi forced her to continue on, not caring about the health of a captive.
When the hour finally passed, there was an enormous crack in the middle of the space on top of the ground, in the middle of the sky so to speak. It was jettisoning tremendous amounts of dust onto the ground, it littering the entire surrounding the rift. “This is the rift that the Continuum Knight spoke of…” Xhoen muttered under his breath, as to not let the Enginerex hear him. Speaking of him, he marched towards the Sage, with his cannon in tow, searching for where the Sectors could be.
he then pointed to Xhoen and pointed out, “If this is where the Sectors are, then where are they? I will not be kept waiting for what I came for.” He then ordered to his trackers, “Search the area, but keep a close eye on the girl. I must keep my trust with our prisoners.” The trackers then scouted the area, fanning out among the dust, with one staying behind to keep Efrexa from running away.
Minutes ticked by as the trackers found no luck, the Sectors not being near the rift. Xhoen felt a wave of hot steam billow out of the Enginerex as he heard news from another tracker that the Sectors were not here, and he braced for a telling off. The Enginerex then stomped closer to Xhoen, and came close to his face just to the right side of his cheek. “I hear that there are no Sectors here, Xhoen. I will not be made a fool!” He then grabbed Xhoen by the collar of his shirt, and pointed his cannon arm towards his face. “Where are the Sectors Xhoen? I will have them now, or else instead of the girl being blown off, you will! Give them to me now!” He exclaimed. Just as Serea and Krain were going to take action to stop the Enginerex, there was a deep rumble from behind the rift. The Enginerex turned his head away from Xhoen, and looked towards the direction it came from. Then, out of the blue of the sky, came forth a black object, soaring through it, then dropping like a stone towards the ground.
All of the Magikans fled from the suspected landing site, with the Enginerex letting go of Xhoen, and when it landed, a massive hulk of compacted metal, stone, and all sorts of other junk landed in front of the rift. It was twice the size of the Enginerex, who was at least seven feet in height, and had a single glowing eye in the middle of its head. The two arms were glowing with black power, and embedded in its back was not one, but two onyx rods, each pumping energy into the beast. The Enginerex recognized these as the Sectors, and began to stomp towards the beast.
Due to accidental deletion of Chapter 36, I ask that you would look down to Post #43, where Chapter 44 is located. You will find Chapter 36 there.
Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 35 Posted) I'm back!!
Sorry that I haven't been posting these in the mornings, the internet's been slow, something I can't control. But here we are.
Chapter 37: Of the Shift in Direction
The fight had ended, the rift was nearby, and the Sectors were now near Serea, who was still feeling unwell from the gradual state of becoming Corrupted. Xhoen dragged the Enginerex over towards Krain and Efrexa, so they could help him recover as well. Despite his nature, he was honorable to assist in stopping the Junkta. And while the two sickened people recovered, a somewhat familiar dark figure came gradually closer, holding a detector, which was leading him closer to the small group.
The Enginerex was in a critical state. With his life support gone, which helped him live through the shattering of his Magik Stone, magic began to cause havoc in his body ,not going into his stone like it should. WIth groans of pain, he slowly muttered under his helmet, “Xhoen...please...help me…” He then coughed out, hearing a spattering of some liquid within.
Xhoen, however could do nothing. He was no engineer, and just from looking at the chest of the Enginerex, he could see there was no fixing the mechanism. “There is nothing I can do. The machine keeping you alive has been destroyed ,and you are dieing. Enginerex-
“Please, don’t call me that. Call me…Terrand. It has been so long since I have heard that name.” the Enginere- er, Terrand, whispered on his death bed. Xhoen respected this, and continued.
“Right, Terrand. I will tell the Logi that you were defeated in trying to retrieve something for your people.” Xhoen continued. Terrand smiled underneath his helmet, and let out one final breath. When it was gone, the steam let loose one last time from his suit, and all was still on the body. And so died the Enginerex, leader of the Logi.
Xhoen left the body, who was now destined for the Afterlife, and came closer to Serea. She was now worse for the wear more than ever before. Her skin was turning a pure black, and she was aching more than ever. The Sectors were now next to her hand, as if she was wanting to take them for herself. “Xhoen...I don’t know…what’s happening to me…” Serea struggled out. Xhoen felt pity for her, and even if she was downright cruel to him, he saved her and taught her with all his heart.
He then replied, “I don’t know either, but all I hope right now is for no Judges of Darkness to show-”
“Found you. Hope you’re ready for a trip. Down to Shadrax.” the cloaked figure bellowed as he came just feet away from Serea. Confused, Xhoen came up, along with Efrexa and Krain, and began to guard her from the figure.
Krain then questioned the figure, “Who are you, and why do you come here of all places? Serea is not going to Shadrax! She has not broken the Ordinance of Goodwill!” The figure only slid around the blockade of the three, and came extremely close to the sickened Serea.
“I am Swifren, Seventh Judge of Darkness. I have come for this Corrupted to be sent to Shadrax for her deeds. I need no excuses for her appearance, it is clear enough she is Corrupted. Now, be gone to the place you belong!” Swifren roared. He pointed at Serea, and the ground absorbed her near unconscious body, and with her in the flood of retreating earth, the Sectors. Xhoen realized this, and swiftly came to the whirlpool of earth, which only had a tip of a Sector revealed. He desperately clawed at it, but to no avail. It sunk beneath the earth, and to Shadrax, along with Serea.
When the attempt failed, he stood up, and came close to Swifren. “You have just cost the world of Magika, Swifren. Do you have any idea what you have just- whoah!” He stated before being dragged by the wind towards the rift, now billowing into it. He tried his best to restrain himself, by rooting the Staff of Timien into the ground. But, ti then came loose, as if it wanted to come out into the rift, and Xhoen was then swept off of his feet, and dragged into the inside of the rift.
Krain and Efrexa dashed towards the rift, each yelling, “Xhoen, Xhoen! Are you there!” But the rift was a barrier for them ,and refused to let them in. I don’t understand it, and- huh?
I then felt a vacuum coming out of the Hole in the Sky, and the Pladias took notice as I was being dragged towards the Hole, and I did my best to stop myself. When I was nearly out of the Hole, I spread my arms and legs so that I couldn’t fit through the Hole. But it then enlarge a slgiht bit, and I fell through, to the dismay of my servants. I tumbled through the sky, into the rift. Efrexa took notice of me and my plight, and whispered under her breath, “Jeremaeus, you too?”
~~~~

I fell through, oblivious to all that was happening to me on the outside. All I saw was a black outside, with nothing but dust billowing out. I yelled out, “By Timien, let me free! I demand it by my title of being Seer of the Hole in the Sky!” But there was no response. How could the rift have penetrated the magic of the Hole? I have no clue.

Just then, I noticed the familiar figure of Xhoen, scraped and worn from his ordeals of the past months, having no respite from his travels. “Hello Jeremaeus. I’m sure that you are just as confused as I am right now.” I must agree, this is all perplexing. We remained in the pure black space, with no sounds except the breaths coming out of us.

I then replied, “Well, considering I was dragged out of the most powerful enchantment that Magika has, I am. I think that that rift didn’t just increase in power as a coincidence, or an accident. Someone started it to drag us in.”

“That someone would be me. Welcome to the Continuum, Jeremaeus and Xhoen.” A voice announced. The blackness suddenly turned into a bright blue cacophony of pulsing veins of pure magic, and when we turned to see the voice, we saw a glowign blue suit of armor, with a sword strapped to its side, and shield to its back. To the left, we saw a suit of red and purple armor, within a cage and unmoving. The armor then spoke again, “As said, welcome. Let me introduce myself. I am the Continuum Knight.”

Chapter 38: Of the Plight into Shadrax

Hello, your friendly Quill again. I’ll just take over for Jeremaeus again considering he was unfortunately dragged out of the Hole in the Sky. Good day!

The rift lay sealed in front of Efrexa and Krain, stunned at the instance that just passed before their eyes. Xhoen was gone, Serea was brought to Shadrax, and Swifren was responsible for her loss. She held back tears, and turned around in anger, looking at Swifren right where his eyes would be. She then raged, “You bring her back! She did nothing wrong, she just became Corrupted!” Swifren shook his head in reply.

“My powers restrict me from bringing back a Corrupted from Shadrax. I can only send people down to it.” Swifren replied. Efrexa let out a groan of dismay, and sat down on the ground, heaving her chest. Krain heard the last part, and had an idea.

He then turned around, and asked, “You can’t, but we could. Send us down there, and we can retrieve her. You can take what you want from us, and in exchange, will let us retrieve Serea and bring us back to Magitol in exchange.” Efrexa overheard, and stood up in surprise.

She then yelled, “Are you serious Krain? A Judge of Darkness would never do such-”

“I accept.” Swifren replied in his deep, yet smooth voice. Efrexa looked over to him in shock, and he continued, “I have only wanted one thing since I became a Judge: Time. I have wanted four days for myself ever since I became a Judge, and I was not ready to accept the calling when it came. But you have given me an opportunity. I will send you down to Shadrax for three days, then I will see you at the mountain of Mount Thrada to retrieve you when you have found this Serea. In exchange, I will take four days of time from you and your friend, and leave you to find her. Do we have a deal?” Krain, not expecting the ruse to work, was rather pleased to hear this. But there was a bit of doubt.

“I’ll accept, but how will you take the time? Surely, you aren’t a Time Magician.” Krain asked. Swifren in response brought out a piece of paper, with letters on the top spelling out ‘Rules of Conduct’.

He then replied, “According to the rules from when I first became a Judge, we are capable of making any deal involving the retrieval of a Corrupted unjustly turned into so. I sense now that she was, and the binding magic of the Ordinance of Goodwill lets me do so. This is your chance. “ Efrexa was rather unsure about going to Shadrax, but she wanted to save Serea, and the two Sectors of the Staff. She sighed, and looked up to Swifren.

“Alright, I accept as well. How do we seal the deal?” Efrexa asked. Swifren chuckled, and held out his gloved hand, hiding the piece of paper again.

“Shake my hand, and the deal will begin. I will have four days to enjoy myself, while you are in a limbo. When they are up, you will go to Shadrax, and for three days, you will search for Serea. If you fail to meet me at Mount Thrada within the time, I will unfortunately leave you there to be Corrupted. It is a risk, but if you wish to save her, this is how it will be done. Ready?” Swifren stated. In the plains of Timezonia, Efrexa stretched forth her hand, and shook Swifren’s cold and lifeless one. And in an instant, she and Krain were gone in a limbo, and in four days, they will end up in Shadrax, with only themselves to help.

In the midst of the Continuum, I stood in awe and annoyance at the Continuum Knight ,who was crackling with the immense energy of Time itself. What I want to know is-

“I am sorry for the way I retrieved you from Magika, I just couldn’t wait any longer. You need to be here now, and I will now explain why.” The Continuum Knight. Don’t interrupt my train of thought! ANyway.

“In the Continuum, thoughts are transmitted to me. I’m special that way. So, nothing is hidden from me. Any questions before I begin?” Xhoen next to me remembered well enough the two suits of armor from two thousand years ago, and stepped forward a bit.

He then asked, “Are you the Knight that fought Darcius two thousand years ago? If so-”

“I am indeed. The captive next to me is the Shade Warrior, who I defeated in our last bout. We are good friends in reality, but if I win, then he goes into the cage and becomes lifeless, until we are summoned again.” The Continuum Knight replied. He has a real habit of interrupting people. “I heard that, Jeremaeus.” He said once more to me. Hey! I am not liking him right now.

I then asked a question involving the whole summoning things, and asked, “Okay, so you fight when the both of you are summoned. The last time you were summoned was two thousand years ago, when the Wizard Kaeomaeus defeated Lord Darcius. Why exactly does that happen?” The COntinuum Knight chuckled a bit, as if amused about the question.

He then replied, “That is why you are here. Listen closely, and you will see how this might come in handy against Vien.” Hopefully he doesn’t interrupt- “You know I can still hear you.” The Knight continued, not the slightest bit annoyed. But I am!

In Shadrax, a new member of the Corrupted had just been sent down, holding next to here the last two Sectors of the Staff of Destruction. She somehow managed to be sent into a cell inside Mount Thrada, still sick from her body so far not being able to tolereate the Shadow Magic. With how little she could sense around her, she detected a dreadfully evil figure from her eyes, and when she opened them a bit wider, she saw a pitch-black dragon, who was three times the size of herself. She could hardly bear being next to it, and wanted to move away. But she couldn’t.

The dragon came closer to her, until she could smell its vile breath. It then softly announced, “Welcome, my dear, to Shadrax. I am your humble host, Shadien. And you have something I want.”

Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 38 Posted) I'm back!!

Internet's being slow over here, sometimes makes it impossible to get to Bulbagarden, so sorry for not posting chapters. But now, here's another!

Chapter 39: Of the Story of the Continuum Knight

In Magika, all chaos has broke loose as even the Magitol has been ransacked through the War of the Logi and Magi. Many of the skyscrapers of the city are in flames, and some have even been brought to the ground. Logi and Magi alike have suffered great casualties, many dieing because of this war.

The Corlock personally enjoyed this, however, wanting to see the Logi get what they had deserved. ‘After all they had done to me, I will now have my revenge.’ He was currently safe in the Centrien, which was magically protected to be safe from most attacks. The Sages were extremely careful as to make sure the leaders wouldn’t be killed. But he was overviewing the scene of carnage throughout the view he could see from the top floor’s window.

He was thinking of these somewhat-peaceful thoughts when a soldier came through the door behind him. He was dealt large wounds to his arms and chest, but thanks to some healing skills, he was on his feet, even if he was still recovering. Sort of limping across the floor, he came closer to the Corlock, declaring, “Sir Corlock, reconnaissance has some important news! The Enginerex has not been seen anywhere around the main battle sites. The Logi are leaderless as of now! We will be victorious!” The Corlock listened with silent glee.

He then replied, “Thank you, Magi, for telling me this. How about you go back downstairs to what you were doing, okay. Things are getting interesting from up here.” The soldier smiled and walked back through the door, still with his limp. The Corlock knew from the heart that within a week, this would all be over.

~~~~
The Continuum Knight breathed in deeply, and let his breath out. He then told me and Xhoen, “I was never a being from your world, or any in fact. I was one of the first. I was a Vizzierien, in charge of guiding Vien for his actions, specifically about the state of the universe. For you see, the Continuum is not just the lifeblood of Timien, it is the energy flow of the universe as well.
Anyway, I was one of his guides, but unfortunately, Vien felt restricted in this manner, so he gradually killed us off, with us recommending to create life rather than other universal bodies. The Progressionists did the same, but rather than destroyed, they were shut down. I was the last to remain, but Vien did not kill me because at the time, the great Dragons had rebelled against him, releasing Lifeien to create Runa. He wanted me to assist in destroying them, as the Progressionists could not be called to assist. So I followed, and hid in the midst of space, so that I would strike when the time was ripe.
But, my heightened powers of guidance warned me to not destroy the Dragons, and rather knock away the Staff of Destruction, so that they might live. I was fearing for my life, but the guidance should not be compromised. It assists in every way. So, I launched a great asteroid towards Vien’s arm, which in turn knocked away the Staff of Destruction, allowing the Dragons to save their beloved world.
But, this had a heavy cost. They were constantly on the hut for any of the Ancient Beings like myself, so I took to hiding inside the Continuum, and throughout the different worlds, I was called to fight my alter ego, the Shade Warrior. He was exactly like me in ways, only he was more hidden, and very crafty. We were usually the deciding factor in many wars throughout the universe, for you see, the creation of Lifeien triggered not just her, but also a variety of new worlds, that are not explored by this one.
I gave Xhoen a glimpse of the future to come so that he might save Magika not through destruction, but creation. The creation of species, friendships, and alliances helped make Magika as great as it was before the Franosian War, and the destruction of a common liking destroys all else. Creation will lead to peace, and not destruction. If you think the Staff of Destruction will save Magika, you are wrong. The Staff of Creation is the only thing that can save the only world of Magic. Listen to me, and you can make Vien disappear from the universe, forever.”
The Continuum Knight finished his story, and looked to us two Time Magicians. “I know I may have told you somewhere else, but this was necessary. I cannot leave the Continuum for fear of being eliminated by Vien. He knows I have betrayed him, and when he is freed, he will come for me after Magika is destroyed.” He explained. I personally, and so was Xhoen I believe, were confused. How could it be destroyed now?
Before ole interruptor could respond, I asked, “How do you know that Vien will be released? Surely, no one can because Xhoen has two of the Sectors, and unless it is complete, it cannot free anybody.” The Continuum Knight sighed with exasperation.
“While that is true, I am afraid that Shadien, the traitorous Dragon, has the other three Sectors of Combustion, Explosion, and Disaster. The last two Sectors, the ones of Attraction and Erosion of Enchantments, are with the illed Serea, who was just sent to Shadrax.” He replied. Xhoen knew of this, as he saw it with his very eyes.
He then confirmed, “I tried to grab the Sectors before they were dragged in, but I was too late. At least they are with Serea, and Shadien doesn’t know where she ended up.” The Continuum Knight shook his head.
The Knight then explained, “He does, and in fact he is in the same room as Serea right now. But, he cannot take them from her right now, for fear of destroying himself in the process. The Sector of Erosion would cause him to be severely weakened, for he is technically an enchantment made by Vien. It is complicated, but he will wait until she eventually dies from the sheer power of the Sectors.” Oh great, how long-
“It will be approximately three days from now that she will die. I cannot let you leave now, however. You must remain in the rift until one week after you enter, and it has already been four days since you came. It might not seem like that, but it has. You must stay.” Alright, Mister Know-It-All, we will. Yeesh, to think I liked him.
Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 39 Posted) I'm back!!
Chapter 40: Of the Pure in Shadrax
In the four days that Jeremaeus and Xhoen were stuck in the rift, Efrexa and Krain were oblivious to the time they had lost in the deal with Swifren. But when time began for them again, they felt a great void collapse around them, surrounding them in complete darkness. When they were able to see again, They were able to see the desecrated land of Shadrax.
Throughout the entire landscape the could see, there were ominous winds blowing through every corner, and there were no clouds of any sort, just a dark gray ceiling of mist above, showing the barrier which separated Shadrax from Magika. Underneath the mist, there were dozens upon dozens of bricks and metal, all nonuniform in the landscape, showing that there used to have been a great construction within this place. It was impossible to tell what it was however.
Krain and Efrexa were standing as they were brought to Shadrax, and when their vision cleared up, Krain stated, “Whoo, I never thought I’d go through that again. I felt that the first time I was sent to Shadrax, when I became COrrupted. Never a pleasant experience from when I asked around about it. Any-”
“Less chat, more action. We need to find Serea, and fast. I hate this place already, and that smell! ugh, it makes me want to puke!” Efrexa interrupted as she plugged her nostrils. There was a distinct smell of rotting flesh in the air, as if the bodies of the old Corrupted had never quite decomposed in the soil. Krain was used to it, however, living many years within Shadrax when he was Corrupted.
Krain than mouthed his thoughts, “Uh, right, right, find Serea. In three days if I recollect correctly? Well, around in Shadrax, time feels slower than it really is, so the Corrupted are down here longer than they think. Makes for better punishment. Anyway, a day passes in roughly an hour-”
Efrexa then grabbed Krain, and interrupted again, “What do you mean a day passes in an hour? We only have three hours then, and we have to find Serea and get the Sectors, and all the while finding Mount Thrada. whatever that is!” Krain ripped himself out of her grasp, and dusted off his shoulder.
Krain then replied, “I know this place like the back of my electronic hand, and I can assure you that Mount Thrada is that way,” he then pointed west, and continued, “And we might as well start searching there. Corrupted end up in all sorts of weird places when they are sent here, and it can’t get much weirder than Thrada. That place is filled with all sorts of old tunnel systems from extensive mining, so we should start there. Come on.” He then marched on, his eyes used to seeing in the darkness of Shadrax. Efrexa moaned with disappointment.
“Great, more tunnels. I had enough with the Mountahill, and we had giant Pebblezogs and a big Mountis to deal with. How can it get worse?” Efrexa groaned. It could in fact get worse, because Farn was just hiding behind a particularly large piece of stone when they were talking. He maliciously chuckled, and melded into the shadow, quickly travelling to where his dear leader, Shadien, was, and came next to his side in a near-instant. He was currently inside the main shaft of Mount Thrada, with Serea in a cage in front of them, dieing slowly before their eyes.
“I have news from the outskirts of Relaren. Two non-Corrupted came here via a Judge of Darkness, and they appear to be searching for our captive.” Farn relayed. Shadien grunted with disagreement.
He then replied as he clawed the cage, “Tell me, how far are they, and do you know who they are? I can’t have them come before this one dies of magical disease, or else I will have to expend my energy in dealing with them! I need all that I can get so that I can release Vien!” He would have loved to just to take the Sectors from Serea, but as the power of the Sector could still be used by Serea, he wasn’t taking any chances.
Farn thought about it in his head, and after a moment, he replied, ‘I would say that they are about two in a half hours away from here, and I can tell you that one of the is a young girl, a Time Magician from what I can see about her body shape. The other one had a familiar object as an arm, specifically a mechanical arm that could have a variety of uses. The his name was Krain.” Shadien roared with fury. With having someone familiar with Shadrax, it would be shorter than Farn had suggested for a time in which they would arrive.
Shadien then grabbed the hem of Farn’s cloak, and breathed right onto his face. “I will not tolerate having that Purified General here in Shadrax. Set up an ambush at the main entrance into Mount Thrada, and be ready to deal with a Sage. Krain was busy up in Magika, and was able to become the Sage of Electrien. Be cautious, and go!” HE then dropped Farn onto the floor, who landed in a heap. Rather terrified, he dashed out of the room and into the main shaft, giving orders through his Viewer to his soldiers to get to Mount Thrada and prepare an attack. Things had gotten heated up in Shadrax.
In the middle of this, Serea heaved out her sick breath as she attempted to contain the power of the Sectors that she held. They were far too powerful for a Magikan to deal with, and two was just too much for her body to bear for long. Soon, she knew, she would die, and Shadien would have the two Sectors. “You will..never get..these... as long...as I live!” Serea wheezed out. Shadien cackled at the phrase.
“Oh, then that means I won’t have to wait long. Just a few more hours, and you are history!” Shadien smirked. Serea then cried out in agony, of her sickness and of her sadness for the fact that she was going to die.
Re: The War of the Logi and Magi (Chapter 40 Posted) I'm back!!
Chapter 41: Of the Calm Before the Storm
Over the next two hours, Krain and Efrexa traded their thought and concerns with one another on the state of Magika, wondering how the War of the Logi and Magi was going up above. Of course, they also knew that a bit of laughter can go a long way, so there was some humor, such as this bit right here:
Efrexa, who was ready to share a rather personal experience with Krain, started to talk about the dreaded Exploding Tart Incident, a thing that would forever haunt the floorway of the Temporal Tower. She started out like this, “So, Krain, has Xhoen ever told you about the Exploding Tart Incident?” Krain thought long and hard, but to no avail.
“No, I don’t remember him ever talking about it. Why?” he replied. Efrexa stifled a giggle.
“Well, you see, when I was young, I had always thought that it would be fun to create a Burnberry Tart, to see how spicy and sweet it could be inside.”
“Aren’t those explosive if cooked?”
“Yes, but here’s how it went out. I actually snuck into the kitchen one night when everyone was sleeping, and set out to make a Burnberry Tart. Our cook, Relda, had a tart pan all set for putting some fruit in, and it just needed the fruit and the top, already made. So, I went into the fridge, brought out a stash of Burnberries that Gradl, our sentry, loved to snack on, and so I took them, and plopped them into the pan, set the top on, and put it into the oven, and waited.”
“What happened then? Did it explode?”
“Not yet, but when I felt like it was done, I brought it out and it looked really good actually. I took it off the pan fresh from the oven. I then dashed to my room, and bit into it. It tasted nice and spicy, with a slight sweetness to it. Then that is where the incident started.
“Oh no, here it comes.”
“I felt a big rumble in my stomach and I really felt like there was a lot of gas in there. So, I walked out of my room, ready to head outside,when all of a sudden, I let out the loudest burp I ever thought I could let out. I felt relieved after that.”
“The incident didn’t sound that bad.” Krain replied. Efrexa then started laughing uncontrollably as they walked.
“What’s so funny is that I unfortunately lit the hallway on fire! That tart caused me to have a fiery burp! And what’s worse, a group of toddlers found the tart, snuck it into their room, and ate it. And you can guess what happened! Hahaha!”
“How long did it take to clean up?”
“Oh, about a week. The fire was easy to deal with, it was just the scorch marks afterward. Ah, good memories. Xhoen made me promise not to tell it to anybody o long as I’ve lived, but we’re in Shadrax, so it doesn’t matter. Anything to beat the doom and gloom.” Efrexa told Krain. And so it went on, until they reached the dreaded Mount Thrada.
On the outside, the mountain jutted out of the landscape, scraping the mist that spanned to sky of Shadrax, towering above the ruined buildings of old Relaren. It was pitch-black in color, and was extremely steep. It was no wonder it was considered a terror to climb.
Efrexa stood in awe at the massive mountain, while Krain glanced around in safety, knowing that no one inhabited the place for age. He then said, “The town of Relaren was abandoned ages ago, when Thrada was mined of all it resources. It should be safe to say that there’ll be noone here, since all of the Corrupted inhabit the other cities, which I won’t dare to describe because of their, well, corruption.” Efrexa listened, but only just. Her eyes strayed over to the noticeable hole at the base of the mountain, supported with great steel beams.
“I think that that’s the entrance to the mines. Come on, let’s go old man!” Efrexa yelled before dashing off towards the hole. Krain yelled with warning, knowing that the place was unsafe through the severity of tunnels. He ran towards her, only to see that she was gone. Curious, he was at the entrance, and when he walked through, he saw a single long tunnel going horizontally across him. Seeing nobody there, he was going to go through towards the right, when he was snatched from above, and brought into a large cavern.
He was restrained by at least six armored Corrupted, each having metallic armor and having a short sword to the side. THe cavern was large and expansive having some lanterns attached to the walls so there could be some vision. Towards the far end of the room was Efrexa, restrained in the same manner as Krain, mouthing, “Help me!”
Krain was going to summon some time magic, but then a familiar voice boomed through the room. Farn came through the entrance, and announced.“Welcome back, Krain, to Shadrax. I am your humble host, Farn, and you are considered dead to our proud leader, Shadien. SInce you are here, I must make sure his wishes are met. Kill them.” The dozen Corrupted each brought their swords to Krain’s and Efrexa’s sides, in an attempt to kill them.
Efrexa muttered some word under her breath, and instantly, the room became stock still. Despite her minimal training she did know how to stop time. Farn did not notice, until his crystal attached to his chest was glowing black, and it caused him to move again. “You didn’t think I wouldn't come prepared, did you? Now, for you to be the first to die!” Farn boomed, and he dashed towards Efrexa. Before he could reach her, Efrexa used her magic to get to Krain, and she moved all of the COrrupted one by one away from him, knocking them over like mannequins. She then restarted time again, and Krain, trying to comprehend what was going on, didn’t react in time for Efrexa. She looked back, and saw Farn with a jagged dagger, having a liquid purple hilt. She knew that it was a deadly NightFume poison,, and she used her TIme Magic to whi to the other side of the room, feeling exhausted already because of her inexperience with Time She was doomed.
