SwSh There are petitions about Gamefreak fixing the 'Galar Pokedex' thing

Now this is funny....Apparently Japanese fans are asking TPCi to reveal the full list of pokemon cut off before the beginning of preorders:

Japanese Pokemon Fans Demand To Know Which Pokemon Have Been Cut From Sword And Shield | NintendoSoup

Even funnier, from what I've understood, they didn't bother yet to officially announce in Japan that national dex, megas and z-moves have been cut from the games:

“Until now, your company still hasn’t officially announce to the Japanese market that Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, and some Pokemon are going to be cut from the games. I want to avoid the situation where an increasing number of users feel deceived as the day pre-orders begin approaches. I feel there are a lot of fans who are waiting for more information before deciding whether to purchase the games.”

maybe they are trying to decide what is the best way to announce it to japan, or maybe they just won't at all thinking that most wouldn't even notice or care or just accept it.
I highly doubt they are considering changes to the game this late.

Patching is patching, and that is the end goal. A secondary objective is a statement to the effect of 'We GET IT WE GET IT WE WILL TAKE LONGER TO MINIMIZE THE CHANCES JUST PLEASE STOP SENDING US CURSED WAFFLES'.

Well, since the Japanese fans are demanding Game Freak, their call shouldn't be ignored at all. But it's really the fault of TPC for focusing more on the mobile side. This is primarily why I want the banning of microtransactions to happen so TPC would be forced to rely on Game Freak for Pokemon and not on Pokemon GO.

Technically microtransactions are already banned in Japan to an extent, as are many other forms of gambling. The issue is that people always find loopholes around it. In fact that's how microtransactions came to be.

I'm not surprised by TPC's corporate greed though.

However, if microtransactions are banned in the US, then TPC lose their second-biggest revenue source from microtransactions. That's a huge deal because that's partly why Pokemon have decided to do worldwide releases.

That's mobiel gaming, not the actual games. Or have i missed the loot boxes somewhere in Ultra SUn?

I'm not saying that microtransactions shouldn't be banned (though if I'm honest, if it was banned in Canada, it would mean I'd no longer be able to play Dragon Ball Dokkan Battle or Legends anymore and that would make me a very sad bean). I'm saying there are already measures in place that unfortunately get around through loopholes. And I'm very sure with the growing trend of gambling bans, they would look for other loopholes to exploit.

Honestly, a lot more app devs should go the way that Super Mario Run went. It does not have any microtransactions. It instead just consists of a demo and the option to purchase the full game. That's how it should be.

The thing is, those loopholes are going to eventually be discovered by law enforcers, which is very dangerous for the app maker because the app maker can get into major trouble for avoiding the law for so long.

The problem is that law enforcers don't do jack shit about the loopholes.

I can't find any information on when gambling was banned in Japan, but I know that pachinko parlors have been in popular operation since the 1940's and they're still around to this day and generate massive revenue. The only reason why pachinko parlors are now under threat is because Japan approved a bill last year that would make actual casinos legal in the country. So instead of outright putting a ban on the parlors, they resorted to stopping gambling with gambling (albeit with tighter restrictions).

TPC would rather all games be on mobile because of microtransactions.
I don't know if TPC would be interested in earning money through microtransactions that people may or may not pay for in a mobile game that's already free-to-play. They're already earning a lot of money without the mobile games.

I can't see Nintendo letting them take Pokemon off either: You want to see Nintendo have a new team work on Pokemon, have Game Freak try to put legit Pokemon games on mobile instead of Switch 2.

Considering that they keep putting them in their mobile games, I would say they are interested. In general, a company doesn't really like to turn down more money unless it goes against their values. It's Nintendo that has the real problem with microtransactions, they're very consumer friendly and they really don't want their flagship entries to be mediocre games relying on predatory tactics to make a quick buck. They seem to be okay with side entries being on mobile and using microtransactions in limited measures, but beyond that they're most likely the ones keeping Pokemon from going all in on being a freemium mobile series. Game Freak is contractually obligated by Nintendo to make games for the Switch, but they don't seem to be very enthusiastic about doing so. There's probably a lot of infighting between Nintendo and Game Freak/TPC on this right now and I have to wonder just how this is going to all shake out. Better hope Nintendo wins out or this could get a lot worse.

I recall Gamefreak saying one of their reasons for sacrificing Pokémon, was so that the Pokémon that do make it in the game are more expressive and have higher quality animations. However, going back and watching some of the gameplay videos we have of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokemon's battle animations don't really look any different than what they always were. For instance, in a video that featured the E3 Demo, Sobble was battling Vulpix, when both of those Pokémon used their attacks, they barely moved at all. Throughout the video, when a Pokémon did move, it was nothing more than a Pokémon bouncing/jumping up. If this is the best we have to look forward to in terms of Pokemon's animations, then I fail to see how they were working on higher quality animations for each Pokémon.
