Things that anime HATERS do that annoy you.

What's with all the European animation companies (Marathon in particular; looking at YOU) trying so hard to pay homage to the ..."anime style"?

Well here's a J-music related one. I really, really get pissed off when people think a non-Japanese origin song being covered by a J-singer is the original. (I know this can be said for any music in general or how people mistake them for "rip-offs" when it's obvious they would get sued if they were)

I recall Chieko Kawabe covering Hilary Duff's song for her old Lizzie Mcguire TV show for the Japanese dub. I just facepalmed looking at a lot of the commentors thinking it's was made by Kawabe herself and that Duff "stole it and possibly other J-pop songs" because she apparently sang it better. (I admit, she did sing it better but wtf?; and not a Duff fan but still)

I don't know... the collective IQ of You Tube Commenters are generally below 25...

It's basically true for most videos... I guess a person has to learn how to just tune it out. (One common thing is how many ask questions about things that are answered in the comment box or video)

Hahaha, reminds me of a video I was watching by an 80's punk band called The Minutemen on youtube. The person who uploaded the video said in the description "this is the band from the early 1980's, not the border patrolling group that is active today," and so many comments still were like "this vid is so bad, mexicans are people too," and I'm thinking "dude, wtf... did you not even read the darned video description first?"

But yeah, that brings a nice pet peeve of mine... anime haters who purposefully watch videos just so they can make mocking negative comments on them. It's like /b/tard culture has infected the entire internet... and people feel that it is perfectly acceptable to jump in anywhere they want and just troll all day (and all night). It reminds me of moralist groups who will seek out pornography and anything else they disagree with, look at it, study it, just so that they can complain even more about it. It is one thing if something is right in front of you and you can not avoid it, but I serious dislike people who will actually take their time to seek out something to complain about it... because most decent people would just not look at something if they did not like it, not seek it out and complain about its existance (when the existance of whatever was not harming their way of life whatsoever).

I hate when people tell me that I'm too old for Pokémon. I'm 27 now, but I've been hearing that since it came out.

Or that because I'm a guy, I shouldn't be watching a "girl's show" like Sailor Moon.

My bigbrother always says that I can't draw, even if I have drawn a very good picture, because I draw anime and manga characters. :( Also most of the pupils in my school thinks that most of the animes are only for little kids and they sometimes talk how they were stupid as kids because they watched Pokémon which they think is the childiest and stupiest anime ever.

"KIDDY"
(Ergo Proxy; also strays from the common "OBVIOUSLY JAPANESE/ANIME" appearance-wise. Afro Samurai can fit here, but there are like only 5 freaking episodes so far because they wasted so much money.)

"ANIME-STYLE"
(Oldschool anime looks very much indeed like Western cartoons. The moe stereotype we know of did not come until much later.)

I hate when they say they hate them for just no reason. They haven't even given them a shot.

heres a new one they say it has cheap drawing. Look at americas cartoons and you tell me cheap drawing

My sister tells me pokemon is for babies, but I doubt any babies watching something like that and understanding it at all. I tell her she is being ingnorant as she has never really watched pokemon at all, but all I get "if you can't handle the truth..." or "what person your age watches pokemon anyway?" I am 20 and I can see from on here, I'm not the only one from around my age or older that watches it, and I have watched it from start.

What animes have they been watching? Even the anime with crappy art surpasses most of the other american cartoons.

i dont know but i cant stand it anime has good animation american cartoons have bad animation i hate when they say america is good but anime is bad

-When they assume it's all violence. Not every anime is full of violence. If you don't believe me, watch My Neighbor Totoro.

-When it takes them 12 episodes before they figure out that they hate a show.

Guys, can someone direct me to the Japanimation section of this forum? I want to talk about Pokemans.

I personally hate when a non anime fan tells me:

"I do not like anime, but I have watched Akira/Ghost in The Shell etc".

I seriously got told that in my highschool.

I can understand how a lot of anime films can seem non anime at times (which is why a awful lot of non anime fans seem to love anything by Studio Ghibli) but I still to this day do not get that arguement.

I also cringe irl when someone calls anime 'cartoons'. I do not why it irritates me so really but it does.

And don't get me started on the argument I had with someone about Gundam Wing vs Lego Bionicles.. just don't

Or "Japanimation".

Especially since it says that in the Guiness Book of World records :p

Another thing that confuses me is when they say they hate stuff like Pokemon, yet they have a favorite pokemon. This one person I know claims they hate Pokemon, but they love Eevee and Psyduck to death. Kinda defeats the purpose if you ask me.

Or "Japanimation".

Some people call it that because some people say stupid things like "I like anime, but hate cartoons!". They don't call it anime in Japan, they call it a cartoon, just like Looney Toons and Animaniacs are. So some people say "Japanimation".

Saying they watched it doesn't mean they liked it. Also even if they did like those specific ones doesn't mean they like anime as a whole.

They're the same thing...
