Things You Find Annoying in Video-games

The title is self-explanatory. One thing I find annoying are 3D games where you can't control the camera independently from the character, the biggest offender to me is Mega Man X7. For you to be able to turn the camera around, you have to move Axl/Zero/X in a way to rotate the camera instead and that's a pain in the neck. It really sucks on stages like Flame Hyenard's stage where the 3D section is more of an open space where a manually controllable camera would've been really helpful.

Unskippable cutscenes, especially if it's before a tough boss and you have to watch it again if you lose.

Time limits can also be annoying and stressful for me at times. Calendar systems and anything similar are the type I prefer usually though for time limits like in Persona games, Devil Survivor, FE Three Houses etc.

The equipment and skill system in Tales of Zestiria is just convoluted, I still like the game and I don't find it as bad anymore after replaying it at times and you can always just ignore it, but it wasn't handled well.

Dual bosses that can revive the other if one goes down. Dual bosses are hard enough as-is, yet when they pull this little stunt it drags out the fight even more. Really, the fight with Bil and Ben in Trials of Mana I just had was already hard enough, but the fact that they kept reviving each other (albeit at half health) made me exhaust a LOT of Candy, Chocolate, and Cup of Wishes. And you're only allowed nine of each item per fight, so that limits how often you can keep the healing up. Fortunately, I decided to make Kevin a Monk, so he got access to Healing Light, which lessened the issue... until he ran out of mana.

Also, as said before, escort missions. Especially since the AI for the one you're escorting is usually insanely dumb. I mean, really, do they HAVE to keep walking into traps and in front of monsters when I've just cleared out a path for them.

And speaking of AI, dumb ally AI is always a royal pain. Some battles are hard enough as-is, but when your allies are stupid, no matter how much you tweak the AI settings, it makes them as bad as the enemies. I think we can all agree on this one due to how moronic the ally AI in Max Raid Battles are for everyone.

Time limits is another thing. Some games can be stressful WITHOUT a time limit, but having one ups the stress levels by ten fold.

Back to back bosses. You finish one battle and another one immediately starts (barring the cutscene) lose and you have to do both battles all over again. It might not be a big deal if you were healed between the battles, but if damage and depleted resources carry over...

Oh yeah, that has always annoyed me, the Kirby games always come to mind regarding this sort of thing.

Strategy games that force me to delegate some of my forces to an AI.

I don't mean things like "green" units in Fire Emblem who aren't yours (or sometimes join you later), but when something is under your control but you have some sort of limit and need to let the AI control most of your units/resources later on.

- "Choices" that don't matter
- Being forced to grind for long periods of time just to continue playing the game
- Game-breaking bugs
Unskippable cutscenes, especially if it's before a tough boss and you have to watch it again if you lose.
And definitely this, especially for this reason in particular. (FFX comes to mind as an offending example.)

-Ice/sliding puzzles. Let's just say that while my playthroughs of the Pokémon games go well into the double digits, I still need a walkthrough for those... And this comes from someone that doesn't find Silph Co. nor Wayward Cave annoying.

-Sliding panel puzzles, specially if they are bigger than 3x3 and have lots of blank spaces *glares at Avalon Code*

-(This applies more to fan translations, but whatever) Gag dubs, specially of the "follow the leader" kind. Playing through the fan translation of Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V Tag Force Special was extremely painful for this reason. A guy spewing rape double entendres is not funny, it's immature, dammit!

1. Moving the Camera with a Joystick in an FPS game
I understand that some might prefer consoles over computer gaming, I get it. Individual IPs, Console/Platform Exclusives, .etc .etc
But why must you expose yourself to this torture m8, use a mouse or something, not that clunky thing.
I guess you COULD get used to it but c'mon, just use a mouse, it's more convenient.

2. Bosses that are way too hard for the first thing you encounter in the game
I play lots of Roguelites, EtG, TBoI, the list goes on, but a trend that I see with some of these is that the regular gameplay is basically just baby's first bullethell but once you reach the boss, it's gonna take multiple tries to get used to the game's insane difficulty spikes only to find yourself doing the same thing just after that. This was especially true with Gungeon, where one of the first bosses, Gatling Gull, still gives me trouble till this day.

3. Insane Levels of Power-Creep in online games
Some online games have a horrible problem with this.
Imagine this, you're walking around this fantasy MMORPG world, exploring and having fun, until this super high levelled guy comes in and whacks you in the back of the neck with God's Own Used Q-Tip. You die instantly. Do you not see a problem with this?

4. Bad writing ...and terrible voice acting

Iris dies in avengers endgame

I would also put the HU HA HU HAA from X4 in here but I couldn't find a video about it

nuff said lets move on

5. "Kill me, come back stronger" Bosses
Oh yeah, remember that random human guy you fought as the boss in the first level?
...Yeah, now he a Cyborg.
...And he has a Laser Eyes
...And now he has an M249 surgically attached to the centre of his torso, yeah. Same old, same old.
They don't even bother changing the attack pattern, it's just the same boss except with some cosmetic changes and slightly more damage

6. Infinity Mijinion from Mega Man X6
screw him
i hate his boss fight
i hate his stage
he sucks
