See, that's a tough one, since my default reaction is "por que no los dos?". If I had to pick one to kill off though, I'd say the intellectual. It's just that bit more enjoyable to watch a character do something cool than it is to watch somebody quote Shakespeare or something.

As an Australian with no personal context for either of those cities, I would have to say Chigago, simply because New York is the one that gets shoved down my throat in all the cool movies and TV shows and stuff.
