Throwback Challenge Rental Battle event launches in Pokémon Masters EX, alongside new Extreme Battle Event, and debut of new Champion Blue Sync Pair

The Pokémon Masters EX 4th anniversary celebrations continue today with the launch of brand new Throwback Challenge and Extreme Battle events, as well as the debut of Blue (Champion) & Zapdos, the third and final new Neo Champion Master Sync Pair featuring in the Neo Champions: Three Trainers, Three Minds event which started earlier this week. Also starting today is the new Monthly Poké Fair Scout, which this month features Gloria & Zacian.

Throwback Challenge Rental Battle Event
In this special limited time event, players will take on a series of challenge battles using set teams. Players can earn up to 1,000 gems by completing all of the challenge battles. The first Challenge Battle is available right now, with an additional Battle being unlocked each day for the next nine days.

A set of 10 special missions are also running together with this event. As with the Challenge Battles, only the first mission is available right now, with an additional mission being unlocked every day for the next nine days. Completing all of these special missions will award players with a Move Candy Coin.

Players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier to participate in this event. This event will run until September 14th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Extreme Battle Event: Fight through Kanto's Best
Players will face off against Misty, Brock, and Erika in this latest Extreme Battle. Sync Pairs from Kanto in player's teams will receive boosts to their Attack, Special Attack, Defence, and Special Defence, with this strength bonus increasing with difficulty level.

Players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier to participate in this event. This event will run until September 17th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Blue (Champion) & Zapdos debut in new Master Fair Scout
Blue (Champion) & Zapdos, who have a starring rule in the ongoing Neo Champions: Three Trainers, Three Minds event, are making their Pokémon Masters EX Debut in a limited-time Master Fair Scout. This scout is available in-game now, and will continue through to October 6th at 10:59pm (PDT). As usual for Master Fair Scouts, there is a 12% chance for 5★ Sync Pairs to appear in this scout.

This Master Fair-exclusive Sync Pair is being released with an expanded sync grid, as well as the ability to be raised to 6★ EX with an EX Role. Raising the pair to 6★ EX also unlocks a new outfit for Blue, swapping the Black and Gold Neo Champion outfit for one that's predominantly White, with Blue accents.

The Blue Master Fair Scout includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for x100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout. Additionally, the first five times players perform a Sync Pair Scout x11 for this scout, they will also receive the following bonus presents:

• 1st Scout: Strike Move Candy Coin x1
• 2nd Scout: 5★ Power-Up x2
• 3rd Scout: Strike Move Candy Coin x1, Tech Move Candy Coin x1
• 4th Scout: 5★ Power-Up x4
• 5th Scout: Strike Move Candy Coin x1, Tech Move Candy Coin x1, Support Move Candy Coin x1

In addition, a Special Present! Blue Master Fair Scout is also available, requiring paid gems. This scout gives the same rewards as the regular Blue Master Fair Scout for the first five times players perform a Sync Pair Scout x11 for this scout. In addition, players who team up with Blue (Champion) & Zapdos in this scout will also receive a Strike Roll Cake item, which is required to unlock their EX Role.

Blue (Champion) & Zapdos are an Electric-type Support Sync Pair, whose shocking attacks weaken their opponent's resistance to Electric-type moves while also buffing allies. Their Glory of Leadership! move allows them to increase the critical-hit rate of all allies by 3 stat ranks, as well as raising the Sp. Atk of all allies proportionately with the amount of Move Gauge slots used, making this a perfect opening move to buff a party built around Special Strike, which just happens to be this pair's EX Role. The pair's Passive Skills also give them the ability to reduce their opponent's Electric Type Rebuff by one rank the first time each attack is successful, with a 30% chance to flinch, while also increasing the Defense and Sp. Def of all allies by one stat rank, as well as applying the Free Move Next effect to themselves. By following up an opening Glory of Leadership! with their Discharge move, which hits all opponents, this means they can quickly apply a whole suite of debuffs and buffs across both parties in a 1-2 opening punch. The pair isn't too bad on the backfoot either, with their Thundering Wings Roost Buddy Move allowing them to restore the HP of all allies by approximately 30% of their maximum HP, as well as removing all status conditions from all allies, and applying the Gradual Healing effect to all allies.

Monthly Poké Fair Scout Vol. 13
The Fair-Exclusive 5★ Gloria & Zacian are the featured Sync Pair for the latest Monthly Poké Fair Scout in Pokémon Masters EX. This scout will remain available until September 30th, at 10:59pm (PDT). Teaming up with the pair will unlock Gloria as a Guest for the Trainer's Lodge.

Gloria & Zacian last appeared in the Monthly Poké Fair Scout back in March, where they received new fair-exclusive tiles in their sync grid. Gloria & Zacian have not received any additional fair-exclusive tiles in their sync grid in conjunction with this latest scout.

As normal for Poké Fair Scouts, 5★ sync pairs have a 10% chance of appearing in this scout. The first five times players perform a Sync Pair Scout x11 for the Monthly Poké Fair Scout Vol. 13, they will also receive a bonus present of 3★ Friend Key x15. These keys allow players to increase the Friendship Level Cap for a single Guest in the Trainer Lodge by 10. This Monthly Poké Fair Scout also includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for x100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout.

Pokémon Masters EX is currently running a contest on its official Instagram account, offering lucky fans the chance to win an acrylic stand of one of the three new Neo Champion Sync Pairs from Kanto who made their Pokémon Masters EX debut this week.

To enter, players must follow the @pokemonmastersgame account on Instagram, where they can then find information on how to enter. This contest is open only to legal residents of the United States and Canada (excluding Quebec), aged 18 or over. This sweepstakes will end September 4th.
