Toyota Engineering Society's Miraidon reproduction in drive mode
The Toyota Motor Corporation recently revealed its impressive reproduction of Miraidon as a motorcycle, and has now debuted it for display to the public at the Waku Waku World technology showcase in Toyota City, Japan. The Miraidon motorcycle is the result of work done by the Toyota Engineering Society, a volunteer organization within the Toyota Motor Corporation to which members interested in furthering technology are appointed for one year. Work on the project began in June 2023 and was completed in just six months, fitting into the Toyota Engineering Society’s yearly theme of “Future Mobility.”

The Toyota Engineering Society’s motto for the Miraidon project was “adults’ seriousness becomes children's dreams.” The motorcycle was inspired by a drawing from a local elementary student, leading members of the project team to picture a mobility technology that children would be “able to communicate with like a friend, and even have fun riding around on its back.” While the motorcycle in its current state is not functionally mobile, it can transform between “drive mode” and “four-legged mode,” just like its in-game counterpart. The Toyota Engineering Society states that the motorcycle is very similar in size and weight to the actual Miraidon.

The drawing that inspired the Miraidon motorcycle
The Miraidon motorcycle is on display in the Tokyo Midtown Hibiya Atrium from March 15 to March 17th, from 11 AM until 9 PM each day. Visitors under the weight limit of 65kg (143.3 lbs) are invited for a “test drive” to get their picture taken sitting on the motorcycle. Tickets into the exhibition are free, though the numbered tickets for visitors interested in the test drive are limited.
