Trailers and News Discussion

Wish we could have gotten more from his move animation; the weaker brother to Judgement could at least look a little cooler~

Then again, Judgment looked pretty pathetic for the first two generations it was in also. It figures that Multi-Attack would inherit that trait. :p

I mean tbh, Arceus is broken as hell even now with Primals, Mega Fuq and Xerneas running around, he doesn't need a new form at all to compete (unlike the Creation Trio who actually need them, and who I expect to get them), but GF seem to be building up to something with Arceus and I expect to see him get a new form(maybe in SM, though probably in the DP remakes) regardless for story and lore reasons.

Oh yeah, Arceus definitely isn't weak or anything and probably doesn't need any boost of some sort, I just want him to be in the very top of stat totals, haha. Plus, giving him and the Creation trio new forms (or anything new, really) is something I think would be fun and interesting.

.....But the name is really pronounced "Ar-see-us"

I want to come up with an abbreviation to RKS that means something totally different and live that head-canon.

Hell's frozen over, I actually like Alolan Muk. Thank goodness it still has Poison Touch.
I feel the same way

muk was tied for my least favorite poison-type and I still don't like its regular form but this thing, the fluctuating colors and the crystal claws and teeth...I think it actually overcame the bias I had against it. It's such an out there design, while also being terrifying. Similar to bruxish, which I also like. It's probably my third favorite alola form.

I'm a traitor to myself

Does anyone else think that the Kahunas will use the Island Guardian of their island and mono-types in which they specialise?

Hala: Tapu Koko + Crabrawler
Olivia: Tapu Akala + Nosepass + Lycanroc

It also seems that the teams increase with one each Kahuna battle. But it's too early to say that clearly.
Hala has three Pokemon, so I'd imagine the Kahunas all have three Pokemon. Two of their type specialties and then their island's Tapu.

Tapu Akala? Where was that from? I didn't see it on the trailer. And answer to your question - maybe. That reminds me that we haven't got another guardian revealed yet.
I think they're just using Tapu Akala as short hand for Akala's Guardian Pokemon.

Well I guess RKS System is enough of a reference to Sinnoh for me. XD Bring on the 3D Underground~

But gawd Jangmo-o's evos are still terrible. Glad for Alolan Muk, though- where Alolan Grimer was a missed opportunity, Alolan Muk is certainly a saving grace.

Disappointed too that Bounsweet didn't turn out like another Oddish or Hoppip. =/ Bah.

Also wishing that Ribombee's name wasn't so... eugh. I can't figure out how to pronounce it, I keep reading it "Rib-bomb-bee" like it came out of a steak house.

Some cool guys there, though some seems a little over designed.

Also we have Florges who should half Grass but it's pure Fairy and now this Grass guy who is pure Grass and not Grass/Fairy

Honestly, I think Alola Grimer looks kind of cute in a weird way in the game. I still wouldn't have made it into an Alola form and I'm going to be so mad/disappointed if the Golduck in the Japanese trailer means we don't get an Alola Water/Psychic Golduck like we honestly should, but I think it's growing on me more. Maybe it helps that I was generally okay with it when the CoroCoro leak happened and seeing how pretty Alola Muk looks like helped too, but I like it quite a bit more than I thought I would.

Jangmo-o's evolutions look good in-game. I think the middle form looks better than the last though. Clanging Scales is a cool move too, liking the animation.

Bounsweet's evolutions are what I didn't want to happen to it. I was hoping for a sour/spicy angry fruit getting revenge for all the Bounsweet that are eaten :( I mean I guess I got the royalty theme right but meh. Also feel the focus on kicking could have lead to a more interesting/unique ability for it than a renamed Dazzling and once again the dreaded Leaf Guard. Two pure Grass lines with Leaf Guard in Alola so far, Game Freak, please stop now....

Ribombee we'd already seen and I'm just meh on it. It's not bad but I'm not in love with it either. Not sure if it's fully evolved, it's hard to tell because it's so small. I like that it seems to use pollen bombs as weapons, and I'm hoping it gets some sort of move to demonstrate that because it sounds awesome. Also I guess Pollen Puffs will be some sort of item given their capitalized name and description of their use.

Olivia is another great kahuna. No complaints there. I guess my theory that kahunas give Z-Crystals is more likely now, since she seems to specialize in Rock-types. I guess Hala might use Fighting-types and give the Fighting Crystal (which is what I speculated in the Island Trial thread a few weeks ago). We'll have to see.

I saw people saying Alolan Grimer looks like Guzma (don't and didn't see it personally), I wonder if they are saying the same about Alolan Muk (don't see that either)... Either way, poor Guzma.

Silvally continues being super cool. Never thought I'd care for an attempted Arceus clone, but it's really good.

Decent trailer. I thought we would just be getting Jangmo-o's evolutions and Grimer, so it was a nice surprise

My question Alola region is their going more grass types then water this time like if their reason for Morawk being fire type that must mean grass Pokémon are more population in this region since Morawk is microevoulruon of fire then being Eletric/Gohst

If this Morawk was eletric/Ghost Pokémon will stand against water Pokémon then being fire is that correct I could explain more

Morawk is weak against Water/Grass/Ice but if their was more water then grass it will microevouktuon as Eletric then being fire

Alolan Muk looks really funky and I love it. I'm glad they made it more interesting than just adding some slime around it's mouth.

Ribombee is.... a bit of a let down, to be honest. I mean we already knew what it was going to look like but I think I would have liked it a lot more if they kept the beak instead of giving it a mouth. Nothing against humanoid pokémon, but that's not at all what Cutiefly was about so I feel like they've lost a part of the design there. Ribombee makes me fear that if another evolution gets revealed, it's going to be like Florges with wings. I do like the scarf element though and the background it has with its pollen however, so it's not without its tradeoffs.

Nothing else really stands out with me tbh, but I do think all the other reveals look good. I do think Olivia looks like an interesting character though, and am always happen to have more diversity within the games.

Ribombee makes me fear that if another evolution gets revealed, it's going to be like Florges with wings.

Totally feeding this fear by pointing out that Cutiefly and Ribombee are the exact same size as Flabebe and Floette, so there's almost a direct parallel. Not that I want this to happen either. =< We have enough poke-sexdolls this generation with Bounsweet's line.

Sorry if this is mentioned in the previous pages, but do we have any information about when the next trailer like this is going to be out?

I'm aware that there is a Pokenchi footage or something on 16th and demo on 18th, I'm asking whether we have anything other than that?

But at this stage it really looks like bounsweet is the new flabebe since techically speaking it's a three stage feminine (possibly 100% female) humanoid line based off a fashion style. It's also the new Ralts and Gothita in that sense and more so if it isn't 100% female.

Also if it was going to evolve again I think it might have been shown in the trailer given that the other final evolutions were shown. There's no reason to keep the last evolution a secret.

I would be kind of disappointed if Ribombee is the final form. It's not terrible, but I was really hoping for Cutiefly to be this generation's Ralts/Flabebe as opposed to Bounsweet. It is a possibility given how the trailer was focusing on final forms for the other Pokemon, but I'd just be disappointed if it didn't evolve further, especially when Ribombee still looks like a middle staged Pokemon more so than a final form. I'd still probably at least try a Cutiefly after being so excited for its reveal, but it would be kind of a shame.

I just LOVE Jangmo-o evolution, I feel in love in Hakamo-o and Kommo-o when I first saw them and their type is just awesome our first Dragon/Fighting type combo, (now I just hope Litten final evo is Fire/Dark)

Steenee and Tsareena is alright in my book but, was hoping that it would get a second type, but is got a nice ability, so I might have a Bounsweet in my team when I get the just to try it out!

Silvally.....(I hope I don´t get to much hate) I think is alright, it have a badass ability, but I don´t know I will not keep in my team, for I feel is more a Arceus copy, but with way better design, but that is what I feel so pls lower those guns!!!!!!

Ribombee is for me just a cute pokemon, and I am not so much for over cute pokemon! (Cuteness OVERLOAD)

Alolan Grimer and Muk they are ok, but won´t use them they have never really be my favorite Pokemon and they just got darker and got some teeth!!

  • Still not much of a fan Jangmo-o's evos, I really just don't like its design, there's too much going on in it I think. And its animation where it seems to be doing magic with its hands is just weird imo. And still bothered that it went bipedal :(
  • I do like Silvally more now that I've seen it in motion, but still don't think I like it enough to have it on my team.
  • Bounsweet was such a cute little fruit and you just had to go and make it humanoid, didn't you GF :/ Steenee is absolutely adorable and still has some fruit vibes. But Tsareena is just... ugh.
  • Ribombee is cute, I like it better than Cutiefly, might have it on my team.
  • Alolan Muk is... no. I know it's supposed to be an oil spill or something, but I just can't unsee molten candy with disco lights, it just looks fake. My absolute least favourite mon shown so far.
  • Olivia is the best, I love her design and I'm happy we get to see another Kahuna :D
  • Ilima is... ok, but I guess that's the point since he's the Normal type specialist. His eyes scare me, but I do love that he wears his Trial Charm in his hair.

  • I need 500 Bounsweets and Cutieflies, stat.
  • Good to see that Type:Null is indeed supposed to be some sort of failed abomination Arceus wannabe from our nightmares...I guess?
  • Also I want to marry Olivia.
  • Also also Alolan Muk should be a lava lamp.
