Turtonator and Mega Sableye make their Pokémon GO debut next week in the new Dark Flames event, running June 29th through July 2nd

Niantic has announced that Turtonator, the Blast Turtle Pokémon, will make its Pokémon GO debut in three-star raids as part of the new Dark Flames event, which will be held from June 29th at 10:00am, to July 2nd at 8:00pm local time. Mega Sableye will also make its debut during this event in Mega Raids.

Event Bonuses and Activities
The following event bonuses will be active throughout the event:

• Additional 25% XP and three Candy XP for completing raids
• Trainers level 31 and above will receive one additional Candy XL for completing raids.
• Team GO Rocket Grunts using Fire-type and Dark-type Pokémon will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
• Incense is more likely to attract Dark-type or Fire-type Pokémon, excluding Daily Adventure Incense, depending on the player's choice for Timed Research

Branching Timed Research
Event-themed Timed Research will be be available during Dark Flames, givvng Trainers the option of research tasks focused on Fire-type or Dark-type Pokémon. Trainers will receive a bonus When the research tasks tasks are completed, Trainers will earn a Premium Battle Pass, 15,000XP, and an encounter with an event-themed Pokémon.

Collection Challenge and Field Research task encounters
An event-themed Collection Challenge is available as part of the Dark Flames event. Completing the Dark Flames Collection Challenge will award Trainers with 5,000 XP and 100 Houndoom Mega Energy. Several Dark Flames-themed Field Research tasks are also available. When these tasks are completed, Trainers will receive an encounter with one of seven Pokémon, listed below.
