Yeah, looking at the list, most of the ones you need are stone evolutions. You aren't at Celadon yet. I am assuming you beat Surge with Diglett?

Log #11-S. S. Anne & Vermillion City Gym
s_s__anne_port_in_pokemon_yellow_for_gbc_by_ck47_d6mhokc-fullview.jpg

Unlike in Gen 3, the S. S. Anne in Gen 1 does not have a healing center, meaning you have to get healing items before you get on the ship. The Gen 1 S. S. Anne is a real endurance test. I cleared out the ship, gathering all of the available items. In one of my final acts on the ship was battling Blue. He wasn't too difficult at all, and frankly, I enjoyed shoving the 45 Monsters in Blue's face. I collected Cut from the Sea Captain after rubbing his back. Upon departing the ship, I headed to the Gym, giving Cut to Ivysaur to cut the tree. Quickly defeating the trainers, I set my mind to solving the trash can door switch puzzle. It didn't take me too long to open the doors. Then it was time to fight Lt. Surge.

1357849-heartgold_soulsilver_lt_surge.png

Surge was a very challenging fight. Yes, his team was just Raichu, but the Raichu is a quick mover, requiring me to use the rest of my team to chip damage Raichu down. Thank goodness he didn't use a potion or anything. There it was. The epic fight between Pikachu and Raichu. Pikachu was full health and Raichu was very weak but still able to challenge me. Two quick attacks and then Raichu fell, winning me my 3rd badge. 3 Down! Upon leaving the Gym, I collected Squirtle from Officer Jenny.

Squirtle Squad.jpg

What to do now? I think my next action will be training Squirtle, then going onto Routes 9 and 10 and Rock Tunnel. See you later!

No. It was chip damage using the rest of my team, then the battle between Pikachu and Raichu. Check the above log.

Log #12-Route 2, Route 9, & Route 10
After quickly training up Squirtle to Wartortle using Diglett's Cave, I moved through Diglett's Cave to Route 2, trading Clefairy for Mr. Mime. I thought about using Mr. Mime in my team, but the low amount of moves that it could learn turned me against it. I also got another Moon Stone, then caught another Clefairy. Since I had a Jigglypuff already, I decided to evolve Jigglypuff to Wigglytuff and placed the new Clefairy into my box to wait. After battling through Routes 9 and 10, I caught Machop and Magnemite. Surprisingly, I had to move to the next Box, as in Gen 1, you have to switch boxes before you can catch any more Monsters. Over the next few days, I will train up Machop and Magnemite to Machoke and Magneton, bringing my collection to 53 Pokemon. I also gave Venonat Flash since the only dark cave in Kanto is Rock Tunnel. Somehow, I forgot to pick up the Old Amber yet in Pewter City. Oh well, I will get it eventually. I don't have to worry until Cinnabar Island.

In the next log, I will be going through the Rock Tunnel and beyond. See you later!

Log #13-Rock Tunnel, Lavender Town, Routes 8 & 7, & Celadon City
I trained up Machop to Machoke, then started to try to train Magnemite, though I gave up because of how hard it is to actually get Magnemite to Magneton, so I just boxed it for now. I then went through Rock Tunnel, making sure to give Venonat Flash to get through. I hoped to come across Onix, but it is a rare find and I know I can always get it later. I think it is on Victory Road. Anyway, I got to Lavender Town. Since nothing can be done here right now, I moved through Routes 8 and 7, beating trainers as I went, finally arriving in Celadon City.

Celadon City has a lot going on in it. There is Celadon Apartments, the Rocket Game Corner, and the Celadon Gym. Through all of that training time, Venonat was close to evolving, so I finished leveling it and boxed it as a Venomoth. Then I went through the apartments, grabbing the Eevee, which was boxed for now. I don't know what to evolve it to. There are 3 options:

Jolteon
Vaporeon
Flareon

Technically, since it will be evolved and boxed, it doesn't really matter what I evolve it to. Here are my considerations:
Jolteon-I already have Pikachu, so another Electric Type is kinda pointless.
Vaporeon-If I evolve to Vaporeon, I would be tempted to use it, and I can't use a Pokemon once it is evolved.
Flareon-Flareon has very few Fire Type moves in Gen 1 (I think Ember, Fire Spin, and Flamethrower), but since I couldn't use it, it defeats the point of even training it. Flareon doesn't get much love, so I think I will evolve it to Flareon, especially since Blue will have Jolteon.

I tripped the switch on the Rocket Poster, and the next log will feature the Game Corner Clearout, since getting the levels will help my team. I think I will put Magnemite in my team for the levels, while using my main team to actually beat the Rockets. The money won't hurt either, since my next move after beating the Rockets and Erika will involve buying the Evolution Stones, which will make my captures skyrocket.

See you all later!

Why can’t you use a Pokémon when it’s fully evolved?
I set it as Rule #4 in my Run. "As soon as a Pokemon is fully evolved, it must be boxed, within reason."
If nothing else, it makes it more interesting so I don't rely on just a few Pokemon, and I get more evolutions if the ones I have to evolve are part of my team.

Log #14-Beating the Rocket Game Corner
Man, I HATE Spinning Panels! Thank goodness I still had my Firered & Leafgreen manual, or I likely would not have beaten the Game Corner. In my first exposure to the Game Corner, I leveled up Magnemite. Once Magnemite was Level 21 and learned Sonic Boom, I took a small break to train it to the evolution of Magneton, also giving it the Thunderbolt TM so it could beat down the training Pidgeys and Pidgeottos. Eventually, Magnemite became Magneton, and I boxed it.

Returning to the Game Corner, I resumed attempting to beat the panels, probably missing a few Rockets as I went, but since they have a lot of Poison types and I did not pack any antidotes, I had to go through it quickly before I was poisoned. Luckily I was able to clear the puzzles. I then beat Jessie and James again, allowing me access to the first fight with Giovanni.

1481588-red_blue_giovanni.png

I switched my team around so I had Ivysaur leading against him. He opened with Onix, which I OHKOed with Razor Leaf. He switched to Rhyhorn, who met the same fate. When he brought out Persian, I switched to Pikachu, which thunderbolted Persian down while Persian tried to lower my speed. Two thunderbolts and Persian fainted. I grabbed the Silph Scope and finished one final grunt, clearing out the Game Corner.

In the next log, we will face down Erika. Should not be too bad, as I will use Charmeleon and Pidgeotto to clear it out. That will earn me my 4th Badge. See you all later!

Log #15-Celadon City Gym
275-2754243_pokemon-gym-leader-erika-hd-png-download.png

Celadon Gym... If you want a Status Gym, this is the Gym for you! You can be Poisoned or Paralyzed. In this Generation, Wrap is considered a status, especially since you can be freed from Wrap, then have it be immediately reapplied. Wrap can be set up to 7 Turns!

Anyway, I used Charmeleon and Pidgeotto to clear out the beauties in the Gym. They called me a "Peeping Tom", yet they don't address the creepy dude outside the Gym. Erika was clearly dozing and potentially sleeping when I came up to talk to her. It wasn't too hard to battle her, with Wrap being a major worry for me. Seriously, that move can be a PAIN! I opened with Charmeleon against Tangela, then switched to Pigeotto against Weepinbell and Gloom. 4th Badge Down! Half Way there!

Upon leaving the Gym, I put Giga Drain on Ivysaur, then went shopping, getting some healing items, some Great Balls, and doing some stone shopping. I evolved my Eevee, Weepinbell, and Gloom. Frankly, I am not going to worry about getting more of the stones until I need them. I also found Fly, giving it to my Pidgeotto, and captured a Doduo (Lv. 22), planning to get it up to Dodrio (Lv. 31) before I fly back to Lavender Town.

The next log, we will be taking down Pokemon Tower, hunting down some Ghosts. I ain't afraid of no ghosts! See you later!

Log #16-Catching Ghosts At The Pokemon Tower
To start this log, I finished training Doduo to Dodrio, flying from Celadon to Cerulean, training on Route 24. Once it was trained, I boxed it, then took a detour to Pewter City, gathering the Old Amber. Flying back to Lavender Town, I took on the scary Pokemon Tower, looking to clear out the Rockets and save Mr. Fuji. Luckily I had the Silph Scope with me.e I was in the Tower, I started with battling Blue. That was an easy win for me, since I was 8 levels above him.

Literal Ghost.jpg

I captured a Gastly (Lv. 25), quickly evolving it to Haunter at the next level, escape roping and putting it in the box. Then I started to run through the Channelers, eventually getting to the pure white energy healing space. Ivysaur became a Venusaur during the tower run, which I left and boxed Venusaur, then came back. I actually faced down the Ghost Marowak before I had actually caught a Cubone, with Wartortle easily defeating the defensive ghost. With her ghost at peace, I was able to capture a Cubone (Lv. 22), which I trained near the white energy space against Gastly. In this generation, abilities did not exist, so I could beat Gastly (and some Haunter) using ground type moves. Through this strategy, my Cubone became a Marowak (Lv. 28), then went to the final floor, beating Jessie & James and rescuing Mr. Fuji. As a reward, I got the Poke Flute.

Now with the Poke Flute, I have the capability to go capture Snorlax. There are 2 Snorlax in the game. The two are on Route 12 & Route 16. On the next log, we will be going to capture both of them. Snorlax will be one of my final team members, and I look forward to having a "Sleep Specialist" on my team. See you later when we go hunt them down.

Log #17-Catching Snorlax
600px-143Snorlax.png

I biked onto Routes 16 and 12, with Poke Flute in hand, ready to capture both Snorlax. Snorlax is a tough capture, mainly because as soon as you get the HP down, it can rest, restoring health and beginning the process all over again. Also, getting Snorlax captured in a ball is hard to do, but I did it, capturing both! I placed one in the box and now have one in my team. Perfect timing because the rest of my team s about ready to evolve and be boxed, so I have to train up Snorlax so it is usable. It's only 5 levels behind the rest of the team, so no big worries.

I think it is time to state my planned Final Team:
Pikachu
Snorlax
Hitmon (either Lee or Chan)
Lapras
Aerodactyl
Tauros

It should not be too long to get Snorlax trained, so my plan is to train it up and try to get the Hitmon before I have to surrender the rest of my team to the box. I have access to Saffron City, so it shouldn't be a problem.
See you all later, where I think the next posting will be an update on the Dex.

What Does MY Dex Look Like, Post #3
Before I share my Dex, let me state that I managed to get my hands on the Good and the Super Rods, so I have a few Pokemon reeled in. I am also keeping my Pidgeot in my team to fly around to train as needed. My starters have also evolved, and I can use Snorlax with a lot of effect.

Anyway, here we go! The Dex:

Venusaur
Charizard
Blastoise
Butterfree
Pidgeot
Raticate
Fearow
Pikachu
Sandslash
Nidoqueen
Nidoking
Clefable
Wigglytuff
Golbat
Vileplume
Parasect
Venomoth
Dugtrio
Primeape
Poliwag
Kadabra
Machoke
Victreebell
Tentacool
Graveler
Magneton
Farfetch'd
Dodrio
Haunter
Hypno
Marowak
Seadra
Goldeen
Starmie
Mr. Mime
Gyrados
Flareon
Snorlax

Most of the rest are in areas I have not gotten to and some are Safari Zone runs. I was trying to fish up a Slowpoke, but apparently, that is a Surf encounter, so I will train up my Poliwag, Tentacool, and Goldeen, getting them done and boxed.

See you all later.

Log #18-Heading Into Saffron City & Fighting Dojo
Before I went into Saffron City, I completed battles and trained up my Tentacool, Poliwag, & Goldeen to Tentacruel, Poliwhirl and Poliwrath, and Seaking. I also managed to catch and evolve a Shellder to a Cloyster. My final capture for this part was a Ponyta which I have almost gotten to a Rapidash. The grassy area outside Fuchsia was a lifesaver there! So many bug and grass types! Upon getting into Saffron City, I took on the Fighting Dojo, beating all of the fighters there with an alternating roster of Pikachu, Snorlax, and Ponyta. I still have Pidgeot in my team but I don't use it, preferring to have easy Fly access. Upon beating the Dojo Master, I am left with a tough choice. Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee. This analysis is using Bulbapedia's stats.

StatsHPAttackDefenseSpecial AttackSpecial DefenseSpeed
Hitmonchan50105793511076
Hitmonlee50120533511087
Who WinsTieLeeChanTieTieLee

Based on this analysis, Lee leads in 2 Stats, Attack and Speed, while Chan leads in Defense. Speed is going to be vital for the rest of the game, while a high Attack will let me hit hard. I prefer Lee over Chan anyway (I used to like Chan over Lee), so I know which one I will pick. After I pick up my Hitmonlee, I will train it up to the rest of my team (it comes in at Level 30), so just an 8 level train. Not bad. Once that is done, I will take on Silph Co, working to get Lapras, where I will train it up to my main team (it comes in at Level 15), then train the rest of my squad to Level 48, where I can take on Koga.

After Koga is defeated, I will have to take on the Safari Zone, which will be annoying. The Gen 1 Safari Zone is a messed up situation. Anyway, if I can get all of the catches there, then I will do some trainings, especially Rhyhorn and Dratini, then see what I want to do. Option 1 will be battling Sabrina. Option 2 will be doing the catches in Seafoam Islands, Power Plant, and Cinnabar Mansion. I like Option 2 better honestly.

For now, the next log will be Silph Co. See you later!

Log #19-Silph Co.
After I collected my Hitmonlee, I trained it up to match the rest of my team, then decided to take on Silph Co., freeing it from the Rocket takeover. When I first came into liberate, my Ponyta still had to finish evolving, so it lead the charge, eventually becoming a Rapidash and being boxed. In the first run through, I beat all of the grunts and scientists within easy access. On my second run through, I went to find Blue and battle him. The battle wasn't too bad, especially since I had stronger Pokemon with more HP then he did. Upon being Blue, I got Lapras as a reward.
1481588-red_blue_giovanni.png

I spent a few days training Lapras up to the rest of my team. That grass outside Fuchsia is fantastic for training. Once it was level 40, where the rest of my team was, I finished Silph Co. I admit, I needed a guide to get to Jessie, James, and Giovanni. Once I did though, it was pretty easy overall, especially with Hitmonlee and Lapras. The only tough one was Nidoqueen, who could withstand more than one hit. Still, Giovanni fell, and I got the Master Ball as a reward. This is the last time I will face Giovanni until the Gym Battle, so Team Rocket is out of my way for now.

What will I do now? I think I want to go battle Koga, but my question is whether or not my team can withstand him. I think my team is competitive, and with me now at Level 42, I should be able to give him a challenge. I know I am not ready for Sabrina though. Here is my plan:

1. Battle Koga (Log #20)
2. Complete the Safari Zone, no matter how many times I need. I have to get Surf and the Gold Teeth before I move forward. I will train up what I need to (Dratini and Rhyhorn), and add Tauros to my full team, training it as needed. (Log #21)

Dex Update (Will need one after the Safari Zone)

3. Go to the Seafoam Islands, completing my captures there, training up as needed, excluding Articuno. (Log #22)
4. Go to the Pokemon Research Lab, getting my fossils leveled up and adding Aerodactyl to my team. (Log #23)
5. Go to the Kanto Power Plant, completing my captures there, training up as needed, excluding Zapdos. (Log #24)
6. Complete the Pokemon Mansion, completing my captures there and getting the key to open the Cinnabar Gym (but not challenging it yet). (Log #25)
7. Battle Sabrina, because I think I will have the levels at this point. She is Level 50! (Log #26)
8. Battle Blaine. He is levels 48-54! (Log #27)
9. Capture Articuno & Zapdos. (log #28)
10. Battle Giovanni. (Log #29)

Dex Update (Will update after all of the captures)

11. Victory Road (Log #30)
12. Elite Four (Log #31)

Until the Battle with Koga, see you! Thank you all for the support!

Log #20-Fuchsia City Gym
Now it is time to go after Fuchsia City Gym. For a Poison type Gym, there are a lot of Psychic type trainers in there. Any idea why? That makes no sense to me. There are so many Poison types they could have gone with. These include:
Bulbasaur line
Weedle line
Ekans line (which you actually have in the Gym!)
Nido lines
Zubat line
Oddish line
Venonat line
Bellsprout line
Tentacool line
Grimer line
Gastly line
Koffing line

Instead, the majority of the trainers focused on Psychic types. WTF were they thinking? The trainers were a bit of a challenge, but switching out to train as needed made things better. The Invisible Walls were tough to figure out, but eventually I busted through and got to the Ninja Master himself, Koga!

Koga.jpg

Koga's team was a joke! 3 Venonats and a Venomoth! I was able to do more damage through paralysis then he did through Poison. Didn't even use toxic at all, despite the fact that he was able to on his entire team. Pikachu dispatched his Venonats and Snorlax crushed his Venomoth. 5 Badges down! Next comes the Safari Zone. I may have to get a guide to get all of the captures and items I need. Anyway, I am off for now! See you once I get all of the Safari Zone captures. Wish me luck!

Log #21-Safari Zone Part I
OMG! The Safari Zone in Kanto completely stinks! The Pokemon that we were looking for in the Safari Zone were:
Exeggcute
Rhyhorn
Chansey
Tangela
Kangaskhan
Scyther
Pinsir
Tauros
Dratini
Dragonair

I spent several runs through here. My basic strategy was a repeated Pokeball throwing Capture Strategy, otherwise known as "Chuck and Pray". With this method, I was able to catch Exeggcute, Rhyhorn, Chansey, Tangela, Tauros, Dratini, and Dragonair. That gave me a 70% Success Rate. Khangaskhan, Scyther, and Pinsir vex me so! (I later discovered that you can get a Scyther and Pinsir at the Game Corner, even though they are 6,500 Coins each!) This leaves Kangaskhan as the only one that I HAVE to catch in the Safari Zone.

While on break from the Safari Zone, I bought enough coins for a Vulpix, evolving it into Ninetales. I also evolved Exeggcute to Exeggutor. I managed to eventually get the Gold Teeth, Surf, and Strength, passing me through this section. I will do more with the Safari Zone in the Post Game. In the next log, there will be a dex update, which will be after I train up Rhyhorn (Lv. 21) to Rhydon (Level 42), Dragonair (Lv. 15) to Dragonite (Level 55), and get Tauros to be in my main team.

Should be only a few days, though Dragonair already appears to be a "Magikarp" of sorts. No major attacking moves. See you all later!

What Does My Dex Look Like, Post #4
Ok, so before I get to my list, let me say that I decided to take on the Power Plant captures earlier than I expected, and was very much rewarded! I found a Grimer ready to evolve (Lv. 37) and a Voltorb that should have evolved (Lv. 33), so I got those trained up quickly. I also decided to catch Psyduck since I could easily find it (Route 6 while Surfing), so I am currently training it up (It's in the early 20's, and I only have to get it to Lv. 33). Gotta go for those easy level ups!

With that said, here comes my list. I now have 103 Pokemon, which shocked Professor Oak, so that is something.

Venusaur
Charizard
Blastoise
Butterfree
Pidgeot
Raticate
Fearow
Pikachu
Sandslash
Nidoqueen
Nidoqueen
Clefable
Ninetales
Wigglytuff
Golbat
Vileplume
Parasect
Venomoth
Dugtrio
Psyduck
Primeape
Poliwrath
Kadabra
Machoke
Victreebel
Tentacruel
Graveler
Rapidash
Magneton
Farfetch'd
Dodrio
Muk
Cloyster
Haunter
Hypno
Electrode
Exeggutor
Marowak
Hitmonlee
Rhyhorn
Chansey
Tangela
Seadra
Seaking
Starmie
Mr. Mime
Tauros
Gyrados
Lapras
Flareon
Snorlax
Dragonair

Once I get Psyduck leveled up to Golduck, then I think I will go for Krabby since it will be easy to find. After that, the grinds begin before I go to the Seafoam Islands. Hope you enjoyed the list this time!

What I Am Training Right Now
Hey Folks!
I know I haven't posted here in a week, so I decided to update for those of you who watch for updates from me. What I am training:
Krabby (caught one near the Power Plant)
Psyduck (You have no idea how hard it is to get a Pokemon that only learns scratch until it evolves is)
Rhyhorn (Level 42 is going to be really tough)
Tauros (Have to catch it up to the rest of my team)

After this, I will confront the Seafoam Islands, so please please please be patient with me. I appreciate you all.

Log #22-Visiting Seafoam Islands & Cinnabar Island
I trained Krabby to Kingler and Psyduck to Golduck. Then, I spent some time to get Tauros to the rest of my team. Then, when Tauros was level 37, I started off to the Seafoam Islands, training Tauros up using the trainers. I finally arrived at the Seafoam Islands, catching Seel. Leaving Seafoam Islands for now, I continued onward to Cinnabar Island. From there, I commenced a few trades. The first was Golduck for Rhydon. I didn't have to train Rhyhorn now! The other trade was Growlithe for Dewgong. To do this trade, I traveled into the entryway for Cinnabar Mansion, catching two Growlithe, one for myself and one for the trade. I then traded one for the Dewgong so now I don't have to train Seel. While I was in Cinnabar, I resurrected Omanyte and Aerodactyl.

Flying to Celadon, I bought a Fire Stone for Growlithe, turning it into Arcanine. This was the final Stone evolution I needed. Then, I flew to Saffron City Gym, getting the Dex entry for Slowbro. Leaving it for now, I went to find a Slowpoke, finding it on Route 12 at level 15. I am going to train it to Slowbro (Lv. 37), then work to level up Omanyte and Aerodactyl (they both were Level 30). Once I have Aerodactyl set up with the rest of my team, I will finish facing down Saffron Gym, taking it on more seriously.

All of this should not take too long. I am up to 114 Pokemon out of the 129 Catchable Pokemon! Once I am done, I will be up to 116 Pokemon (Slowbro and Omastar).

Thank you all for the support!
