Upcoming Pokémon 2019 Arcs

We are most likely getting arcs in the future such as the IOA (Isle of Armour) and the CT (Crown Tundra). There is also a possibility for a second darkest day arc. You can speculate about ideas for future arcs and what would take place here.

I believe that they will make an arc with Giovanni and Mewtwo. It would be too wasteful to bring Mewtwo back without having something else to show later.

Honestly, given how Galar has been treated as some secondary location, I can’t see them really doing Isle of Armor or Crown Tundra justice. We’ll probably see some adaptation of the post-game story but that’s probably it for Galar story.

Knowing this series and the fact it's dead set on making everything feel episodic as possible any future arcs would probably suffer from the same problems as the Darkest Day arc as in having hardly any sort of buildup and feeling rushed. Bonus points if it's Galar related.

I would love to see a Team Rocket arc to end off Journeys. With all of the Pokémon that Goh caught throughout the series, legendaries included, an invasion of the Sakuragi Institute led by Giovanni would be epic. It could lead to Ash and Goh entering Team Rocket HQ for the first time, and it could also go along with Vando97’s idea of Giovanni and Mewtwo meeting again.

In a way, I kind of agree. Ash and his allies raiding Team Rocket's base would be a major event in the entire series, I guess. Goh would obviously want to rescue his Pokémon, so he would have to fight in order to do so. Additionally, I can see Ash coming face to face with his final opponent among the members of Team Rocket: none other than their leader, Giovanni! In that kind of "ultimate" battle, Ash might prove that he is not weak, but actually a more formidable opponent for the Team Rocket Boss.
