Updating the Pokémon Icons to the X & Y ones

The second one of the two looks correct, so that's probably what should be used for batch converting should there be no problems with using those sprites.

Attached is a zip archive containing the resized (40x32) greenchu icons for all 718 pokemon, along with all the alternate forms I was able to identify using bulbapedia's own list of Pokemon with alternate forms.

I was unable to find the Unown ! and ? icons or icons for mega-evolutions.

If whoever is in charge of these decisions is okay with using icons sourced from Greenchu, we should be able to go ahead and make use of these.

It's good to see the sprites finally in use. However, it seems only the new ones were filled; they revamped quite much every pre-gen-VI sprite as well and those don't seem to be updated. What's with that?

E: And it seems those sprites actually seem to have the same problem as the ones at Serebii: they have the faint dotted overlay from the Pokédex view, which Smogon's sprites don't have. It isn't noticeable without zooming in, but replacing them with clean ones might be advisable later on.

Not what this thread is about (menu icons, not model animations). And this thread is outdated anyway since the new icons have already fully been added. Also, I believe I saw a staff member stating somewhere earlier that model animations won't be added at all, but don't quote me on that.

What's this about copyright? How could Serebii hold any rights to these images? It's not like he could take you to court, when it's technically not even his property. No matter how you obtain it, it's going to be the same.

What about the Mega Evolved Pokémon icons? Are those going to be added too? I hope you guys are able to add the models one day as well! At least we have the art.

Serebii obviously doesn't hold any copyright over the sprites but he has been rather vocal about content "stealing" in the past (AFAIK, even sometimes when no content has actually been copied) and so blatantly disregarding that won't do any good to relations between the two sites. Copying anything without permission is also against common sense in general when there's actual work involved (in this case, screengrabbing all the sprites via a capture card and processing them into finished sprites, which is far more tedious than just dumping sprites from a DS cart image on a computer). And the last point is that they aren't even the same (or weren't, can't be bothered to go recheck). Serebii ripped his sprites from the Pokédex screen, which has a faint dot overlay over everything, instead of other screens, so his sprites are actually inferior to those from some other sites
