New Forms

Forms Solagleo Lunala (even smaller).png

Necrozma has two alternate forms it gains when it takes over Solgaleo or Lunala. When taking over Solgaleo it becomes Dusk Mane Necrozma (Psychic/Steel), and can use Solgaleo's signature move, Sunsteel Strike. When taking over Lunala, it becomes Dawn Wings Necrozma (Psychic/Ghost), and can use Lunala's signature move, Moongeist Beam. It keeps the Ability Prism Armor in both forms.

Carrotwolf.png

Lycanroc has a new form, called the Dusk Form. It is Rock-type and has the Ability Tough Claws. Furthermore, it can learn both Accelerock and Counter. Only Rockruff that have the Ability Own Tempo can evolve into this form. It evolves into Dusk Form when leveled up between 5 pm and 5:59 pm, starting at level 25.

A Rockruff with the Abiity Own Tempo will be available for USUM via Nintendo Network from Nov. 17, 2017 to Jan. 10, 2018. Normal Rockruff can't have this Ability.

New Z-Moves

Ultra_Sun_Ultra_Moon_Z-Power_Ring-01.png

Instead of a Z-Ring, in USUM the player will receive a Z-Power Ring, which can use even more varieties of Z-Moves.

kommonium z.png

Kommo-o is the first to receive a new exclusive Z-Move in USUM, called Clangorous Soulblaze. It can be used if it holds a Kommonium Z and knows the move Clanging Scales. It is a Dragon-type move that damages all opposing Pokémon and then raises the user's Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed by one stage each.

Lycanroc z-move2.png

Lycanroc also receives its own exclusive Z-Move, called Splintered Stormshards. When used, it removes all terrain from the field. Each form of Lycanroc can use it, as long as it knows Stone Edge and has the exclusive Z-Crystal, Lycanium-Z.

new Z-moves.png

Searing Sunraze Smash is a new Steel-type Z-Move that can be used by Solgaleo and Dusk Mane Necrozma, if it knows the move Sunsteel Strike and holds a Solganium Z. This move does damage while ignoring any effects of the target's Ability.

New Features
New Features

USUM will have new features that weren't present in Sun and Moon.

Alola Photo Club

alola photo club.png

There’s a new gameplay feature in USUM, called the Alola Photo Club. It allows you to take pictures of your character with the Pokémon in your party. You can open this feature by visiting a photo studio. In some cases you can take pictures without visiting a studio, like when a special Pokémon evolves.

While taking pictures you can dress up your character, make various poses, choose various lenses and background, zoom in and out, and move the characters. After taking a picture, the photo can be decorated with various frames and stickers. The photo can also be shown to other players through communication features.

Taking a photo with a Pokémon will increase their affection.

Mantine Surf

Mantine Surf2.png

Mantine Surf is a new feature that lets you travel between islands on the back of a Mantine. While surfing, you can also pull of various tricks to receive points.

Ultra Wormhole Traveling

800px-Ultra_Sun_Ultra_Moon_Ultra_Wormhole_artwork (smaller).png

By riding on the back of Solgaleo or Lunala, you'll now be able to travel through Ultra Wormholes. This lets you visit many different worlds, including the home worlds of the Ultra Beasts and Ultra Megalopolis.

You'll also be able to find and catch all Legendary Pokémon from past games here, though they differ depending on which version of the game you're playing. Some of them only appear when specific Pokémon are in your party:

Suicune (with Raikou and Entei present)
Rayquaza (with Groudon and Kyogre present)
Giratina (with Dialga and Palkia present)
Kyurem (with Reshiram and Zekrom present)
Landorus (with Tornadus and Thundurus present)

New Rotom Dex Features

p09_07_EN.jpg

Rotom Dex returns in USUM, but now with more features, which you can unlock by deepening your bond with it. This is done by communicating with it, eg. by answering multiple choice questions it asks, like how your trial went.

One of the new features you can unlock is Roto Loto, which lets you get special Rotom Powers. These come in different varieties, some increase your Exp. Points or prize money, while others make it easier to catch Pokémon or have other effects. You can choose to use these powers from your bag whenever you'd like.

Rotom's Z-Power is another new feature it has. This lets you use a second Z-Move in battle, while normally only one is allowed.

The Battle Agency

battle agency.png

The Battle Agency is a new battle facility where you can take part in Single Battles using rental Pokémon. You can use three of these Pokémon to try to defeat the three Pokémon in your opponent's team. The Pokémon you can rent will increase the more you battle with players around you or on the internet.

Totem Stickers

589px-USUM_Totem_Sticker_art.png

Throughout Alola you'll find Totem Stickers that glitter and shine in the field. Collect them to be able to get a huge totem-like Pokémon for your team. The totem-like Pokémon you can get differ based on the version you play. Eg. you can get Lurantis in Ultra Sun or Salazzle in Ultra Moon.
