Meltan is sooooo gonna become the next Meloetta/Squishy/Nebby IMO. I can't wait for the meltdowns when this thing inevitably joins the SM cast and then leaves a dozen episodes later.

I think it's late for that. We have, like, 47 episodes left and there is still Eevee plot, Poni Island trial, and Pokemon League to resolve.

In the previous series:

7 Pokemon League episodes
5 Puni-chan episodes
5 episodes for resolving the final plot
4 last episodes to end the series

In this series there was 7 episodes for Akala and 5 episodes for Ula'ula island arcs. Let's say there will be 6 episodes for Poni Island: That makes 27 episodes. There is three UBs left, which makes it into 30 episodes. This leave us with 17 episodes for Misty/Brock, Hau and filler episodes they came up with.

There won't be 6 episodes for Poni Island because there were already two arcs spent there, not to mention that Mina was introduced a while back. And the only "Puni-chan" left to deal with is Meltan, which you're saying there is no time left for. Eevee is almost certainly "just" another capture.

That leaves 37-40 episodes for everything else. They will incorportate Meltan if the TPTB determine that the movie is too late for its promotion, which sounds reasonable to me.

Isn’t Poni Island shorter than the other ones? I don’t remember the details clearly but I thought it had less trials compared to Akala.

And Misty, Brock, Eevee and Hau will be the part of the same arc.

I'm not sure what you meant, but I think Ash will likely do the Fairy trial, and I could see him losing it the first time and then having to rematch it.

Meltan lacks the ability to show its emotions because it lacks a face. The anime is usually less interested in showcasing pokemon like that. It's also not cute enough for the mascot role.

Clearly a curious Pokémon, Meltan is very expressive and shows an interest in all kinds of things.

I'm still pretty sure he'll do the Dragon Trial as I'm full well expecting Poipole to make a return and become a Naganadel (unless something else happens instead which I get to further down), perhaps it'll come back when another UB shows up (maybe to help fight the Dragon-Type Guzzlord?), but even still I don't imagine they're done with Necrozma quite yet as they haven't had a chance time show off Light That Burns the Sky, so I imagine we'll see Poipole again then; even if it is just a visit.

And as I know someone's gonna come along and say "But Poipole/Naganadel could get a Poisonium Z!"
They'll much more likely give a Poisonium Z to Plumerina, as she's a Poison-Type specialist; and will likely be an antagonist later on and what better way to show off how threatening she can be than with a Poison-Type Z-Crystal.

Not to mention Acid Downpour just seems really bland…like a bunch of purple smoke and rain just doesn't seem like enough of a spectacle for them to bother with if it's for the Main Character, especially considering how much of a show they like to put on whenever Ash uses a Z-Move, while Devestating Drake is far more of an impressive sight.

It could also be argued that he won't get a Fairyium Z for the same reason; which is…maybe save that one for Mina and her Ribombee.

I mean…what Fairy-Type would he even catch?

Spoiler: A list; and my reasonings

• Primarina-Lana has a Poplio, not much else to say.

• Comfey-Being essentially Nurse Joys' signature Pokémon of the Region, makes it very unlikely Ash will catch one, not to mention it doesn't seem like a very battle oriented Pokémon regardless.

• Cutiefly/Ribombee-Considering they sorta called attention to Mina having a Ribombee as her partner instead of a Pokémon she just so happens to own, makes me think Ash won't catch either member of the Cutiefly line, also should the Fairy Trial appear at all Rimbombee would likely be the Totem as it is in the games, so it'd be weird for Ash to catch a Pokémon that is the same as a Totem, unless he aquires the Totem Pokémon itself…somehow; which is something he hasn't done yet, that can be done in the Games (it may also be worth nothing that the Manga has demonstrated Totem-captures as well), which would probably make it more likely than the others, but I'm still doubtful.

And by the same logic who is to say he couldn't acquire the Totem Kommo-o instead? But I only imagine he'd get the Totem Kommo-O or any member of the Jangmo-o like in general, if he doesn't get Poipole back some time prior to facing the Dragon-Trial (Could do a bit of a rivalry with Silvally and he could get the Kommonium Z from Hapu, as I'm starting to expect he won't get a Groundium Z at all on account him not sharing any Z-Crystals with any Kahunas/Likely Elite 4 members, save for Olivia and his Rockium Z which has likely been replaced by his Lycanium Z so I don't imagine we'll see it again, after all none of Ash's party still use his Normalium Z after getting Z Crystal that matches type now do they? So the same can likely be said for his Unique and Generic Z Crystals) Also if he caught the Totem of a Trial, I don't think he'd get the Z-Crystal also.

Not saying it'll go either way, just pointing some stuff out.

• Morelull/Shiinotic-He's already got a Grass-Type with Rowlett and already has a Grassium Z, so I don't seem him catching a member of the Morelull-line so long as he has Rowlett, and even if he does catch one that doesn't mean he'll get a Fairyium Z.

• Mimikyu-I don't even need to say anything about Mimikyu but this.

• The Tapus-I really doubt Ash'll get a Tapu, it's probably safe to say he just won't.

• Magearna-It got its Movie, it's not gonna be in the anime.

Also on the topic of Ash catching the Eevee: Why would he? Eevee isn't from Gen VII nor does it evolve into anything from Gen VII, so why would they have him catch it? I'm not in anyway opposed to Ash catching the Eevee, but I think it's just going to be a Reoccuring Pokémon to advertise Let's Go! much like all those Pikachu's with the Hairstyles in the Pikachu Valley episode, as I just don't see any good reason as of right now.

Also I've seen speculation that it's Hau's and Ash trades Rowlett or Dartrix for said Eevee, but again I don't see why they'd make Ash get an Eevee in the Gen VII region, and yes I have seen the comparisons to Aipom and that it could become a Gen VIII Eeveelution; but Aipom was Ash's Sixth capture in Hoenn and he caught her during the Battle frontier Arc, which was after the Pokémon League, current Ash has only caught 4 Pokémon and Poipole is currently absent, making for a party if 4, if it'll even return at all, not to mention Ash still has 2 more Trials to complete, so please forgive my skepticisms.

…But if such a trade were to occur it could free up the Grassium Z for Mallow to attain and Sophocles could get an Electrium Z as well, seeing as Ash's keeps transmuting, and that would allow the whole gang to uniquely have their own Z-Crystals…just saying.

Why wouldn't he? Main characters have caught Pokémon from previous generations before, so why not now? Consider it a similar case to Ash's friends catching starters because of remakes.
