At least we don't have to wait anymore for it. Volcanion is a pretty cool looking pokemon and it has a great type combination.

That's one ugly Pokémon. Cool typing, though.

Volcanion has grown on me a lot tbh. I really like it now. The shisa-like animal combined with this steampunk-ish design is a really interesting combination. And Fire/Water with Water Absorb is pretty neat. Though while it can switch into Water-types with Water Absorb, it's not like Fire/Water moves can hurt them back much. It actually has a pretty decent movepool too - nothing too wide or outrageous, but enough choices for a few different sets.

Really looking forward to its release. OU could use another Azumarill counter even if it comes with a more annoying version of Scald. :)

I like how they pretend we didn't know about Volcanion for, like... 2 years ago? :ROFLMAO:
Game Freak doesnt ever acknowledge when event Pokemon are leaked, and they dont have to, we were never supposed to know about it. Also, not everyone has been online and seen the leaks and some even avoid leaks/spoilers so it is actually a surprise for some people and a big deal because they didnt know about it.

I'm just glad I no longer have to smile and pretend I don't know what it is. It's a cool pokemon that has been a longtime coming

Hey it won't be too long and my brother won't have to pretend he doesn't have Volcanion anymore. He went onto some website and received a hacked Volcanion... What was it? A year ago?

I think Volcanion will have a bigger role in the franchise than Heatran did.

of course it will as the anime and gamefreak creators seem to have weird knack for "ripping off" previous pokes and making a big deal about how "new" they are

What is Volcanion "ripping off"? Volcanion seems totally original. Never before have we had a Pokemon with this typing or silhouette. It seems totally original.

How is Volcanion a rip-off? It has literally nothing in common with Hetran and is far more unique than it ever was

Not really ripping off from previous pokemons, but I do feel like Volcanion is based on something that is already existing. Something that is not pokemon, not Real-Life animal, nor any monster in any other media. Its mechanical-like design just reminds me of............ some giant robot from the anime of 90's.

it the fact that both heatran and volcanian seem to be based on stuff to do with volcanoes for example heatran is the lava dome pokemon (probably why it found on them or in them) and volcanion is the steam pokemon which seem to be based of geysers and such which used heated magma to heat the water and groudon being based on conteinent seem to me also to be based on simalar concept so you could probably say there the "earth trio"

That seems just a tiny bit pedantic don't you think? That's like saying Salamence ripped off Dragonite because they're both dragons, or Kyogre ripped off Kingdra because they both live in the ocean.

Volcanion is a Komainu while Hetran is some sort of Magma monster. I'd even wager that the former will go full on Beast Wars once it gets a new form. It's concept is pretty original sense it's a walking nuclear power tiger\lion\dog thing.

The problem is that Volcanion and Zygarde are working together under the Dome Fossil to rip off Hoopa. When Hoopa was leaked, Volcanion was leaked along with it, and was more interesting, mainly because of its type. When Hoopa was really revealed in February, all everyone was talking about after that was the Zygarde forms shown (Zygarde Core, Zygarde Cell, silhouette of Zygarde Complete) in CoroCoro. At the end of Hoopa's Japanese movie in July, all anyone would mention was the teaser. And now when Hoopa's movie finally comes out in the USA, Volcanion is suddenly revealed. Is this a coincidence or what?

Despite the unique typing I have long waited for, Volcanion itself is a pretty uninteresting Pokemon. I'm hoping for a new form/mega/primal to give this thing some more flavour.
