Volt Tackle feat. Hatsune Miku by DECO*27, the first song from Pokémon's Project VOLTAGE Hatsune Miku collaboration, releases later today at 7pm JST

Project VOLTAGE, a special art and music collaboration project between Pokémon and the popular Volcaloid character Hatsune Miku, will finally be posting the first of 18 music videos from it "Songs and Music Videos from 18 Vocaloid Producers sampling Game Background Music and Sound Effects" (18名のボカロPによる、ゲームBGM・SEをサンプリングした楽曲・MV) sub-project, with the release later today of Volt Tackle feat. Hatsune Miku, by acclaimed Japanese musician and producer DECO*27, Friday September 29th, at 7:00pm (JST) / 10:00am UTC / 3:00am (PDT).

DECO*27 released his first Vocaloid song Boku Mitai na Kimi Kimi Mitai na Boku (僕みたいな君、君みたいな僕 - You who resemble me, I who resemble you) on the Japanese video sharing website Nico Nico Douga in 2008. As an early adopter of the Vocaloid software, who primarily uses Hatsune Miku's voice for his songs, his music has had an exceptional influence on the public image of the Hatsune Miku character and of Vocaloid music in general. Many of his songs, including 2010's Aikotoba (愛言葉) and 2020's HIBANA, have joined Vocaloid's Hall of Fame, and are frequently included in Vocaloid live concerts and featured in Vocaloid-related game franchises such as the Project DIVA and Project Mirai series.

Apart from the common theme of "Pokémon featuring Hatsune Miku", and the requirement that the songs sample the background music and sound effects of the Pokémon games in some way, each of the producers for the Songs and Music Videos sub-project have been given free reign to express their own creative vision. A partial list of participating Vocaloid Producers for this sub-project will be released later today alongside the launch of the music video for Volt Tackle feat. Hatsune Miku. The remaining songs will be released on the YouTube channels of each individual Vocaloid Producer over the coming months. While no formal schedule has yet been released as of writing, it is expected the project will continue through until at least the end of this year.

Project VOLTAGE's first sub-project, "18 Types of Hatsune Miku and Partner Pokémon Illustrations and Settings" (18タイプの初音ミク＆相棒ポケモンのイラスト・設定資料) featured a set of 18 artworks from 6 separate artists based on the theme of "What if Hatsune Miku was an XX-type Pokémon Trainer". This project completed yesterday, September 28th, with the posting of the Dragon-type Hatsune Miku with her partner Pokémon Miraidon.
