SHOW ME HOW YOU PLAY!
MAKE MY HEART POUND WITH EXCITEMENT!
we never heard that back at the slots :)
lol
but, yeah, I never actually played the slots, just maxed out my money at resort gorgeus and then bought tms.
I like voltorb flip better

I want to first say that I play Voltorb Flip often if I have nothing else to do. I did get good at it, and eventually even got enough coins for one of the good TMs. This thing is far easier to benefit from than the slots, but before we could also buy coins, and that is it's only flaw. Then again, that makes for an effective excuse to actually play it as opposed to avoiding it entirely. I still voted slots only for the fact it's easier to get coins. Flip is painfully slow at giving you coins.

Voltorb Flip is much more addicting, but it was easier to get coins in the Slots...

I could never win with the slot, however I can with Voltorb Flip, so I vote VF.

I hope in the next game they have a full arcade or something akin to it - more than one game

Once I spent some time with Voltorb Flip, I love it. It's really fun, and there's strategy involved, unlike slots.

I like the slots much better than Voltorb Flip. The slots just seem more exciting to me as I have already figured out the method of how Voltorb Flip works. The new Game Corners are interesting though and it is nice to have a change, but they could have at least made the Goldenrod Game Corner and the Celadon Game Corner somewhat different just to give us a variety.

It would also be nice if they brought Card Flip back from the older games, but I doubt we will see it any time soon.

If it's Voltorb Flip with no buying coins, or slots and buying coins, then I would have to opt for the slots. I don't want to dedicate the time it takes to play the games to earn enough coins for what the reward is.

As for the games themselves, Voltorb Flip is infinitely better. It's a game that takes thought and isn't [exclusively] about chance.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is... if it's by the setup of the Game Corner themselves, they were better previously, simply because you could buy coins. Yeah.

Slots, because if you replace them with a minesweeper ripoff just to avoid teaching kids about gambling, that kills the effect of a new game being in place.

That, and I found Voltorb Flip agonizing to play.

Oh God slots, most definitely. I can't get the hang of Voltorb Flip.

Slots, obviously. I found extremely boring the Voltorb Flip minigame yesterday when I arrived to Goldenrod City in my HeartGold cart, and it's way easier to get coins with the slots than playing this game (I don't get it when people say that the slots are so much luck-dependant, so I guess to each one his/her own), aside from the fact you can actually skip it if you just want a TM or item and keep buying the coins. Call me a weaboo, a unplesable fan or not but I prefer the Japanese original slots minigame.

I hope they decide to include both minigames (in other words, some variety for the Game Corner) in future installments, thus having everyone happy, but right now I detest what the lame European laws did to the non-Japanese HGSS carts.

Is there... someway to strategize playing the slots? Do I just not understand the game? >_>

This much is fair though.

Voltorb Flip, because I am actually playing the game instead of going to the game corner and buying coins. Once you get the feel of what to do, the game isn't that hard.

That and the slot are broken beyond belief, just like a real casino. I never really did like slot machines in the first place.

Slots >>>>>> Voltorb Flip. Slots require timing, something I'm quiet good at, so I can enjoy the fast pace and mass multiply my coin count in a matter of minutes (HGSS slots: 10 minutes = 1k coins on average). Voltorb Flip, on the other hand, give crap pay out in comparison to what I can do at slots and requires me to stare at my DS doing math. Ew, not fun.

Read the wheels. Really. Watch the red 7s fly by, there's a pattern to them. After one, there's another soon after.

IMO the people saying that slots are all luck-based are just people with no skill at timing, can't read the wheels, or just button mash. I don't care if someone doesn't like the slots and thus prefers voltorb flip better, but don't say it's the game's fault and that it's all luck based when I, and others as well, can honestly prove that it's not all luck.

lolwat. btw, "Once you get the feel of what to do, the game isn't that hard" applies to BOTH games, not just voltorb flip. =3=

I agree, the slots had equally as much stradegy as Voltorb Flip, probably more though. It also had much more modes of play the more you progressed through them, namely Hoenn's and Sinnoh's, plus HG/SS ones but I wouldn't know since I haven't played them. I agree though the slots had a much, much better pay out than Voltorb Flip.

The main reason why I like the slots better. I can make about 500 coins in about 10 minutes. At the Voltorb flip, I get about 50 if I don't make it past level 1. ._. If I could buy the coins, I'd be doing that right now... but then again, I'd be poor like what happened in FR.

^I suggest not wasting your game money on coins until you get the 5 island and are able to battle the ladies at the Resort. They have weak-ish Pokémon and give an excellent payout.

The slots were kinda fun and I would actually play them if I wanted to just dick around and had the coins to burn, otherwise I would just ignore them in favor of just buying the coins for the prizes. In a way though that is kinda avoiding the intended purpose of a Game Corner. Although Sinnoh's was an exception since getting a Clefairy garruntees getting a good payout.

The Voltorb Flip minigame itself is actually kinda fun. The only real downside is that it's now alot more inconvienient to get the prizes, especially the TMs. How the hell am I supposed to amass 10,000 coins when my maximum pay out may be 200 or so a game?

I really hope that future games may introduce an arcade where you play minigames similar to the Pokéthon and win coins like that. Or are video arcades banned in Europe as well?

Crap! My logic is used against me. How can I recover? :p

Well, I'm more of a fan of puzzle games if my love for Layton series, Sudoku puzzles, Brain Age, and Ace Attorney games, to name a few, weren't of any indication. That and how I'm not a big fan of slot my hatred for slot in the real world. That and I got fed up with slot in Pokemon a long time ago after the time I botched getting the 777 two times in a row and couldn't repeat the process. That is when I decided to say "Screw you slots, I'm buying coins for now on. :p" Though to be fair, back then when I did that I was a very impatient kid, so I guess I could give it another shot later in Platinum, after I finish getting a few Pokemon up to 100 for a fight I promise someone at my college.

I'm all for this idea. It would be interesting to see something similar to the mini games implemented in the Wi-Fi Plaza where you can win coins/ticket like at a real carnival/amusement park. Not just one game. I want variety.

The slots are much more fun for me. And the pictures in the Japanese HGSS slot machines are so cute. ^_^ The game corner itself is better in the Japanese version, too.

Japanese: You see a flashy, cool-looking game corner from the outside, go in and see a flashy, cool-looking game corner on the inside. You can also buy coins and prizes from official-looking employees.

English: You see a flashy, cool-looking game corner on the outside, go in and see Grandma's house with a creepy guy who sits there all day waiting for you to 'show him how you play and make his heart race with excitement' (or something along those lines) while two old guys sit in the corner having a neverending tea party and offering you items and Pokémon for coins that have no value anywhere outside the creepy 'game corner'. Yay.

You will get higher payouts on higher levels. For example, you can get nearly 1,000 coins just for beating the sixth level. If you can play the game correctly, you will get there in less than 10 minutes.

The Voltorb Flip for me... At first I was ubber failing at it, then I just watched a tutorial in YouTube on how to play it properly, and BOOM! I got 20k+ Coins and a Dratini I bought from one of the guys there... You can get more Coins a lot faster than the Slots... Though in the 4th Gen Slots it like you never lose, (with the Clafairy Bonus thing) but it takes much longer to get Coins than the Voltob Flip...
