Wick's white pickup truck with merchandise in the truck bed
On January 23rd, 52-year-old Kelly B. Wick was arrested at about 4:30 a.m. after a Kirkland County police officer spotted expired plates on his white pickup truck, in Bellevue, WA, about 20 minutes outside of Seattle. During the traffic stop, the officer noticed cardboard boxes full of Pokémon cards and merchandise in the truck bed addressed to a resident of a nearby apartment building. “...Despite the heavy rain at the time, several cardboard boxes filling the truck’s bed were dry, “ reported Bellevue Police Department, who collaborated on the arrest, “as if having just been loaded into the vehicle.” Wick was detained while an officer woke up the addressee of the boxes and brought him to the scene of the traffic stop to confirm that they were stolen from his storage locker in the apartment building

The victim estimates that the stolen property was worth between $30,000 and $50,000 USD, and included TCG collectibles such as non-English 25th Anniversary Collection packs and Japanese Detective Pikachu packs. The Kirkland County and Bellevue Police Departments recovered apartment security footage showing Wick stealing approximately 80% of the contents of the storage locker, leading to his charges of second degree burglary and criminal trespassing. Wick was booked into King County Jail and has since been released.
