Pokémon Masters EX is offering a variety of experiences and battles for players this month. In addition to the regular Battle Arena rotation, players can participate in several activities around a broad Alolan theme. Beginning this week is the game's latest Egg Event, focused on Water- and Ice-Type Pokémon for new Main Character Sync Pairs. The Champion Stadium meanwhile is will be rotating around to the Alola Challenge, offering players an intense set of battles. Tapu Bulu will also be returning to the Legendary Arena for a limited time.

Water- and Ice-Type Egg Event:
In this event, players will be able to receive Eggs from Professor Bellis that will hatch into one of a selection of Water- or Ice-Type Pokémon. The Pokémon that can be hatched from these Eggs include Horsea, Seel, Squirtle, and Lapras, with the first three of these having the possibility of being Shiny. A limited-time incubator will also be added to Bellis's Lab for the duration of this event. If an Egg is still in the limited-time incubator when the event ends, the limited-time incubator will remain active until that Egg hatches. This event will run through until February 20th at 9:59pm (PST).

Several special missions will be available during the event period. As usual for events of this type, players will have an increased chance of receiving Eggs if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the higher their Egg reward rate will be. The applicable Sync Pairs and Egg reward rates are as follows:
  • Player Character Sync Pairs: +40% (×1.4) Egg Reward Rate
  • Water- and Ice-type Player Character sync pairs: +80% (×1.8) Egg Reward Rate
  • Other Water- and Ice-type sync pairs: +20% Egg Reward Rate (×1.2)
These bonuses stack additively, so having 1 Player Character Water- or Ice-type Sync Pair, and two other Water- or Ice-type sync pairs would give a combined bonus of +120% (x2.2)

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
  • Players cannot receive Eggs from Professor Bellis by completing areas outside of this event during this event period.

Champion Stadium: Alola Challenge

Champion Stadium will be rotating around to Alola until March 6th, 9:59pm (PST), giving players the opportunity to challenge Alolan Elite 4 members Hala, Molayne, Olivia, Acerola, and Hahili, as well as Champion-challengers Professor Kukui and Hau. The exact roster of opposents will change weekly, offering players the chance to play against both Sun & Moon, and Ultra Sun & Moon lineups. Successful trainers will gain access to Master Mode, which allows players to face more challenging battles against the Elite 4, an in-game badge that signifies their accomplishment, and other special reward items including Champion Spirit.

The Champion Stadium is being updated from this rotation onwards. The upper limit for total point rewards for the Champion Stadium has now been raised to 10,000 points, with both Champion Spirit and Battle Points being added as total point rewards. The maximum points that players can earn in a single battle has also been raised from 1500 to 2000 points.

To participate in the Champion Stadium, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 10: A Reason to Battle (Normal) in single-player.

Legendary Arena: Tapu Bulu
A powerful opponent arrives as Tapu Bulu returns to the Legendary Arena. In the Legendary Arena, trainers must complete a set of challenges using a set number of sync pairs. New event missions have been added for this re-run of the event, offering trainers an opportunity to gain additional gems by completing specific challenges. The Legendary Arena is open right now, and can be challenged up until February 20th at 9:59pm (PST). Tapu Bulu was last available in the Legendary Arena in August 2021.

Tapu Bulu is weak to Flying-type moves while on its first and third HP bars, and weak to Poison-type moves while on its second. It activates the field effect of Grassy Terrain at the beginning of each HP bar and each time it uses its Sync Move; Grassy Terrain increases the power of Grass-type moves and restores HP when using a Grass-type move. Grassy Terrain can be countered by inflicting Poison or by using "interference" status conditions, such as flinching, confusion, or trapped, although Tapu Bulu will increase its resistance to the latter each time it recovers, until it becomes immune.

As with all Legendary Arenas, players must have passed Chapter 2: Defeat Team Break in the main story on normal mode in order to participate in this event.

Battle Villa:

The Battle Villa, a recurring event that allows players to use up to 9 sync pairs to progress through its stages, will be open for the next two weeks until February 20th at 9:59 p.m. (PST). Performing well in this challenge will allow players to obtain up to 2000 gems, as well as items to upgrade their sync pairs including cookies and lucky scrolls. To enter the Battle Villa, players must progress past Chapter 7: Where There's a Will, There's a Way (Normal) in single player mode.

Players who complete every hall in the Battle Villa will be able to skip certain halls the next time the Battle Villa opens. Halls that are skipped will still award first-time rewards, however any coin completion rewards, XP, and bonus awards will not be granted. Skipped Halls also do not count towards any associations missions.
