Welcome to the Bulbagarden Science & Technology forum!

This forum has been formed by merging the more technology-based aspects of Geeky Misc with Ancora Imparo.

This forum is for all our members who like to learn more about the world they live in. Whether it's astronomy or biology; geography or history; physics or computer technology, this is the place to talk about how our world (or our computers!) works, and how it has worked in the past.

What goes here:
-Everything related to natural sciences (biology, physics, etc)
-Most things related to social sciences (sociology, psychology, history, etc)
-Most questions related to technology.
-Computer questions.

What does NOT belong here:
-Video Games discussion. These belong in Entertainment.
-Political discussion, which goes in The Real World.

Some specific details:

On history.
-Serious question of discussion of history belongs in Science and Technology.
-Events history (anniversaries, "this day in history", etc) belongs in The Real World.
Example: "The Incan Civilization" belongs in S&T. "Sixty-nine years ago, World War II ended" belongs in The Real World.

On natural disasters.
-Discussion of the natural phenomenon itself belong in Science and Technology.
-Discussion of the impact of the disaster on people and countries belongs in on the news.
Example: "Hurricane Ike forms in the Atlantic" or "Ike and Gustav retired" would be S&T threads. "Hurricane Ike about to hit Texas, evacuations underway" is a The Real World thread.

On scientific news.
-Generally scientific news belong in Science and Technology
Example: "Apple to release iTelevision" is a S&T thread. "Large Hadron Collider goes online" as well. "New Inca ruin discovered" similarly.

Generally speaking, issues that are mostly political, not scientific controversies (Abortion, homosexuality, teen sexuality) or issue that are too recent for a proper historical look (definitely ) should belong in The Real World. Discussion of issues that are both political and scientific (eg, global warming) will be left to the moderators discretion.

Edit: Replaced references to "On the News" with "The Real World".
