"Naw don't worry about it. I'm fine," he told him, looking at his sister giving a thank you. He chuckled himself thinking how his sister loathed mechanical pencils. She never liked the way they worked and preferred the normal classic kind. It was fine though. He didn't mind them so he guessed he could use it. She would dump it off on him later anyways.

"Oh, thank you Neil." Erika said, looking at the gloves. "Not really sure how you noticed my issue with that, but..." She quietly added, placing the gloves near her other items. "Thanks for the thought." She smiled.

Jeremy didn't really know what to think with all of the gifts, they were all really, really nice, and it made him feel slightly self conscious about what he had gotten for everyone. He thanked each person individually for their respective gift, along with a hug. "Well I suppose its my turn now then" Jeremy announced to the group. "Your gifts are all awfully nice, so you'll have to forgive me if mine seem a little, well anti-climactic," he added bringing out 6 identical packages, one for each member.

Upon unwrapping their gifts each member of the club would find a photograph of themselves, in black and white, adorned in a simple frame, doing something that they loved. "I hope you don't find me kind of creepy for following you guys so I could get the best shot" Jeremy smiled as he put his hands in his pockets. For Alice, a picture of her drawing, similar for Zima, Jordan's picture was an action shot from a soccer game, Erika's was her cooking, Neil's was him seemingly deep in thought working on a piece of technology, and lastly for Nathan was a picture of him playing something on his guitar.

"I mean it wasn't exactly hidden, your fingers were covered in band-aids and you're into cooking soooooo," said Neil before receiving Jeremy's gift, "A bit creepy, but still nice. Now I can put art in my apartment!" said Neil with joy.

"Eww..." Erika playfully moaned, looking at the picture. "You two are reaching stalker-ish levels. But thank you too, Jeremy, that was real nice of you."

The three girls were sitting around with presents that they have bought in the airport. Because who doesn't love shopping at the airport. Melissa was about to send gifts to the States to her Assist Club teammate which would eventually be received sometime around mid January. So she started to pack them and write cards that were very simplistic.

"What did you get each of your club mates?" Emma asked as she sat down next to the Australian brunette. "I hope it is something decent unlike the last time you bought a rubber band holder for my ex-boyfriend two years ago. I don't get why?"

"I got lazy and I suck at giving gifts to people I really didn't know. Anyway I got Jordan a World Digital Alarm Clock. It apparently has a multilingual display and a handstrap. I mean what more can he ask for?"

"Umm does he actually go travelling, Melly?" Emma asked as she picked up the clock and looked at it with some confusion.

"How should I know? Anyway I got Erika who is a sweetheart 'Southeast Asia on a Shoestring Travel Guide', So she can travel around Southeast Asia for fun and something like that. Amazing gift." Melissa smiled. "So for Nate who is an odd ball that has emotional cripping issues I got him an upright vacuum cleaner because why not?" Melissa didn't really think this through but god damn at least she was sending something.

"Ah...huh. It is a good thing that you aren't seeing them again because those are crappy gifts." Emma sighed as she looked at the upright vacuum cleaner. "At least it has no bags I guess."

"Now for Zima I got her a lovely awesome travel journal where she can write about her travels when she actually does go travelling. She's a nice person although her brother is odd." Melissa wrapped it up and then got out another present. "Now for Jeremy, I know how much he loves life. So I got him a rice cooker because life is all about rice." Let's just say Melissa had a fair few to drink as she pulled out a giant rice cooker.

"Really a rice cooker? What did you get me?" Emma was still focused on the vacuum cleaner.

"Wait your turn. Now for Alice I give her the most amazing present ever Belvedere Vodka Pure with I might add 'Skip and Hop Giraffe Safari Activity Mat' where she can look at cut-out patterns overhead in the felt canopy, or she can reach to explore puffy and silky textures, crinkles, squeaks and chimes and learn about life. Now last but not least I got Neil the robot asshole that is creepy beyond all reason a simple nice gift which is a cheap Model Aircraft from QANTAS."

"Is Alice a baby?" Emma asked as she brushed her lighter brown hair.

"No she is not but why not? Also I got you a flight simulator card, so you can go and experience being a pilot Emma like you always wanted to. Merry Christmas" Melissa and Emma hugged after Emma got her a Chelsea Football Club jersey and Melissa got her a Flight Experience. Melissa was sure that the Assist Club will love her gifts come mid January.

"I'm totally keeping the vodka actually...screw sending that." Melissa held the vodka up high.

January 6th

It had been a few days after new years day and with the second semester right around the corner Jordan had decided that the Assist Club should meet up one last time during their break. "Why am I here?" Anna asked with a raised eyebrow. She and Jordan had invited the group to the starbucks in the mall near the school.

"Well, I thought since you've been hanging around with us for a while now it wouldn't hurt," Jordan nodded his head before starting to drink from his cappuccino, putting it down afterwards. He didn't notice that a small foam moustache had formed after this, and Anna wasn't about to tell him as she was having fun giggling at him. "What?"

"Nothing," Anna pointed out as she drank from her caramel macchiato. "Though what is it you wanted to discuss?"

"We might be getting new members with the second term, so I wanna make sure the whole group is okay with it, plus Mel just got back so I figured it'll be a good chance to give her her present."

"It'll be fun." Alice smiled. "It would be great to see some new faces here at the Assist Club. If they want to help others, let's them join."

She then began taking a sip from a cup of Chai Latte, and daintily took a bite out of some coffee cake.

It was a great holiday for Melissa as she enjoyed some fun at the local big casino while also attending the fireworks at New Years' Eve. That was followed by the girls going to the New Years' Test which both Emma and Mindy didn't understand a single thing at all but it was great for the Aussie brunette known as Melissa because it was a sight that she wanted to see. There was something different about Melissa, there was a hint of more confidence and security because she felt that she was set in life at least in her mind. Melissa was wearing a Chelsea football jersey under a nice black collared jacket and a great pair of jeans along with flats to make it a very causal look. Her hair completely changed to that of a front fringe which made her a bit different looking than usual.

She walked inside Starbucks and looked around. She went up to the counter and ordered a straight up short black instead of what she considered fancy drinks. Melissa looked around for members of the club but couldn't see them at all, so she had found a section which had couches and sat there. Melissa saw the Financial Times newspaper and decided to have a read through since it was there and it would make the waiting time shorter. They called her name and with that Melissa got her coffee and sat back down to read the newspaper.

"Yeah I guess you have a point," Jordan nodded his head before noticing that Melissa had gone inside the starbucks, though it seemed like she hadn't spotted them. "Yo mel!" he exclaimed and began waving his right hand in the air.

Neil entered the coffee, ordered a regular coffee, black, and waited for the barista to call his name. After getting his coffee he pulled a seat to the table where Jordan and Annie sat. "Well, I'm excited for new members."

"Huh oh right yeah I see you guys now." Melissa walked up holding the coffee in her left hand and the newspaper in her right. "I didn't see you guys earlier," It was just Anna and Jordan around at the present. "So how was your Christmas? Oh right your present Jordan is rocking up mid January, so yeah just wait on that I guess." Melissa sat down and started to drink her coffee.

"So we are waiting on people because I got amazing news, it is so awesome like my hair." The new hairstyle of Melissa made her really happy.

"Yeah we're waiting for the others," Jordan replied as he noticed Neil getting to the table and sitting down. "Oh here by the way," he said before taking out the hockey stick and showing it to Mel. "I know you like hockey so I figured this should do the trick."

The past Christmas had been a surprisingly good one for Erika. After the party, she finally got rid of her old coat in exchange for the one Nathan gave her. The winter was extremely harsh so far, and his gift most definitely helped, scarf included. As for the actual day of Christmas, she spent the whole entire holiday with Al doing nothing but lounging about in their pajamas. The next day Erika decided to visit her father’s grave at the cemetery. Unaccompanied by her brother, she spent a lot of the day near there and the area close to it.

Then New Year’s Eve and Day came around. She attended a party that Faye threw, the actual get together consisting of many people whom she didn’t know at all. Apparently an old friend of Faye’s managed to come, a boy in the Fashion branch at the school. Erika vaguely remembered the boy as she knew Faye since they were in grade school. As such, she knew who her friends were throughout the years.

Each day after that remained uneventful, though she managed to improve her cooking skills somewhat. In her eyes, that was something to be proud of. These events left the teen in a good mood, something that had been rare for her lately. After hearing of the meeting at Starbucks, Erika simply laughed at Jordan’s choice of venue. Wearing her pea coat and scarf seemed so fitting. Walking inside the store, her gift for Mel in hand, she decided not to buy anything as she wasn’t a fan of coffee or sweets. “Oh, hey guys.” She waved, approaching the group. “Happy New Years! I have your present as well, Mel. I hope you enjoyed Australia.” Her gift was a nice pair of sunglasses, not designer, but they were well built and affordable.

OOC: That's not what I meant, I asking if this where the new members make their first appearance. Also, disregard my former post as Alice. I'll delete it shortly.

IC: Alice entered the coffee shop, and got herself a soy chai latte along with a slice of coffee cake.

"There you are Jordan." She said, before placing herself in a nearby seat. "What'd you want to meet about?"

"Err thanks but I can't take this with me," Melissa pointed out as she looked at the hockey stick, "I'll tell you guys why. Well during the Christmas break in Australia, my friends you know Em and Mind along with my cousin and my parentals, decided to send tapes of me to a sporting body. They offered me a chance to stay there and become an elite level athlete which means I'm moving to Australia and leaving the club and the school." Melissa looked at them without any emotion on her face.

"That means I get 100% full support and all the facilities I need, you know. It is the oppotunity of a lifetime for me and I decided to take it straight away plus my parents threw in a car to help me stay there. So yeah I'm done." Melissa smiled.

While the news about Melissa was somewhat saddening, Erika simply handed her the sunglasses. "That's great, Mel. I wish you the best of luck." She wasn't angry or upset, as if she was presented with a similar opportunity, she would have done the same thing. "These sunglasses are my Christmas gift to you. It'll be sunny there."
