Were the clans one clan at one point

This thought came to me while thinking up the backstory for challenge playthough of Brilliant Diamond: Were the clans one before splitting into the two we see in the game? What do you guys think of this question?

It's possible that they have seen both Dialga and Palkia in their Origin forms first, then when Dialga and Palkia became their Altered forms, seeing them at separate times is what caused the splitting of the group.

Hmm, idk, in legends arceus the clans were always quarreling with each other. I don't think it mentioned a time before when there was peace. But new lore may come out and say they used to be the same clan. So, all in all, idk.

Old Verse 5 is rather ambiguous about it even in the japanese version so I picked the third option.
