What are your game headcanons?

Zoroarks are incapable of disguising their shadows because they are not physically changing, just casting illusions. In other words, a Zoroark disguised as a mudkip would still have the shadow of a Zoroark. It's just like if a mage were to cast an illusion spell of a vertical rod, the rod wouldn't cast a shadow because it is not really there.

Since just about all adaptations (side games included) show Mewtwo as at worst suspectible to violent outbursts, but never devoid of emotions, I always assummed that whoever wrote its Pokedex entry noting it as heartless and cruel was biased. As mentioned earlier, I have a headcanon that Red was rendered mute after Mewtwo crushed his throat during their fight, so I'd say prof. Oak never quite got over his favourite pupil getting permamently disabled and saw M2 as a monster ever since.

Not to mention most of the info about it came from Pokemon Mansion, which was kind of destroyed by Mewtwo.

The reason why Nate is not in Pokemon Masters is that he is busy helping Looker uncover criminals all over the world.

Now that I think about Mr. Fuji: He founded that orphanage as "penance" for playing God and technically getting almost everyone involved in Mewtwo's creation killed. Thanks to Japanese Emerald, I also think that he might have released Mew somewhere where he thought no one would find her again (at least, until Brendan/May found his map).

The starter Pokemon are super endangered, hence why you never see them out in the wild. The RB guide says that Professor Oak caught your starters in the inaccessible patch of gras next to his lab. This is because he's breeding them in caltivity. The reason he gave you a starter is to see how it reacts to the world.

Isn't that more or less canon? What Rowan says about you and your starter is more or less what you said in the last sentence.

Damn Blue must be wrecking all those trainers that start at Viridian. Like, dude, this is why you sll have different sets of Pokemon for different challenge levels.

This is why I have another headcanon: Thanks to how social media has evolved in this age, I think there might be something like a "Gym Advisor" app that lets you know which type is what Gym to see where they would like to go. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there's also a review section.

Now for my own bit of headcanon: Why was Blue allowed to use his own Pokémon in the gym, but not Cheren? Blue has contacts and influence that allowed him to do that.

Huh, I can honestly say that I just never really questioned Blue not having a type specialty in his role as a Gym Leader. I guess I assumed it was a personal choice and that he was more of a go-against-the-grain sort whereas Cheren (and I suppose most other Gym Leaders) have a more earnest desire to teach Trainers about the basics.

On that note, if a Gym Leader were to abuse their position by being needlessly difficult or obstructive, I wonder if they'd have to pay a fine or something. Or if a severe transgression could result in suspension or termination. Maybe over in Kanto, Giovanni's overwhelming abuse of power prompted the Indigo League to review their code of conduct while increasing supervision of their officials' activities.

This would certainly align with the SwoShi Pokédex's "recommendations" feature.

Except that it's not that Cheren isn't allowed to use the Pokemon that he caught in B/W1 as a gym leader - he has however to keep multiple Pokemon of different level to adjust to his challenger's skill level. When he talks about how he can't use his regular team against player, he specifically meant that he's not allowed to use a team with years of experience against a newbie trainer, not that he can't use his old team at all during gym battles. It's supported by how in games where you can have a rematch against Leaders in postgame, even the earliest and easiest ones have completely new, much stronger teams. Blue still using his old team isn't due to connections, but because of how skilled and strong Ethan/Lyra/Kris is by the time they met him, meaning he doesn't have to hold back anything.
For that matter I don't think gyms or gym leaders are actually required to specialise in any particular type. It being so common is part gameplay/story seggregation and part trainers capable to masterfuly train and battle with any Pokemon regardless of type AND willing to stay in one place instead of traveling and honing they skills are much harder to find than trainers who aren't as skilled, but know enough about one particular type and its strenghts to reach similar levels with just that one type and no other.

Solgaleo and Lunala are Pokémon that came into existence after a Cosmoem got exposed to Necrozma's light. (Which is quite obvious since both have a theme that deals with light as well.)

As a result, Solgaleo and Lunala are more akin to Ultra Beasts than they are to regular Pokémon, which is why Cosmog's basically a gatekeeper for the wormholes and why they are still available in multitudes like the other Ultra Beasts since they're not Legendaries in the traditional sense of the word. (They are sparser than the regular Ultra Beasts tho.) In a way, they're comparable to Z-Crystals but as Pokémon, which also explains how Necrozma is able to use them to become Dusk-Mane and Dawn-Wings, cause they are creatures created from its light. (Which becomes noticeable in their Full Moon/Full Sun phases.)

The Eternamax form of Eternatus isn't its original form but rather, the form that it takes when it needs to release excess amounts of energy. Zacian and Zamazenta just forced that energy out of Eternatus, thus causing it to have a need for slumber. Rose made Eternatus suffer because he forced it to absorb all of Galar's energy, the suffering made Eternatus attack whoever was in front of it. Catching Eternatus not only made it release all that energy back to Galar, the Poke Ball absorbed any excess amount that would make Eternatus suffer so Eternatus would be able to use its signature move to release said energy when needed.
