What are your game headcanons?

Rotom is the Pokemon World's equivalent of a crucial component of smart devices (also, you can take "smart" as literal considering Rotom can talk and move the device itself without any help). That's why it gets inserted into modern phones and Pokedexes.

Karen doesn't use Tyranitar due to her preference for using her favourites over using strong/weak Pokémon. Sure she could easily train one if she wanted to, but she ultimately prefers mons such as Murkrow/Honchkrow and Vileplume.
That does seem like something one with that mindset would do.

I'm fairly certain this isn't an original idea, and has been suggested before, but I've always imagined that in-game Gym campaigns take place during a specific time of the year, generally when school/work breaks overlap. This way, younger trainers can still take on the challenge and complete their traditional education requirements, and working adults don't have to worry about losing their job as the traverse the region for months on end lol. This could complicate things though as Unova has its own seasons system and that has its own temporal implications, but I'd like to think this can be true across most regions.

Tate and Liza aren’t actually full fledged Gym Leaders, only apprentices to the actual one. The reason you fight them in the Hoenn games is that the official leader was off in an errand and left them in charge.

In the Galar region there's the saying "stuck between a Grimmsnarl and a Hatterene" which essentially has the same meaning as "stuck between a rock and a hard place" due to how Grimmsnarl actively rile up people's negative emotions to feed on them while Hatterene violently beats up anyone who shows any strong emotions whatsoever, so literally being stuck between these two Pokemon would be quite the harrowing ordeal to say the least. Naturally, the phrase is most often used when someone is in a situation where they'd have every right to feel upset but for whatever reason either can't or aren't allowed to express their discontent.

The whole bit about Spoink dying if they stop bouncing isn't actually true, but does have some basis in that the bouncing helps regulate the Pokemon's circulatory system, so if they neglect their bouncing too much they run the risk of going into cardiac arrest. So yeah, Spoink won't die literally the instant they stop bouncing, it's just unhealthy and potentially life-threatening for them to remain in stasis for very long. They also deal with this bouncing issue during their sleep by having a similar sleeping method to dolphins in that only half their brain sleeps at a time while the other half keeps track of their bouncing.

In some circles there are rather intense debates on whether Luxray or Pyroar is the "true King of Beasts" amidst non-Legendary Pokemon, with certain historical figures being called both "Luxray-hearted" or "Pyroar-hearted" in almost equal measure coming with the predictable arguments over which one is the more historically accurate one. And that's not even getting into those who argue that neither Luxray nor Pyroar deserves the title of King of Beasts because there are plenty of other non-Legendary Pokemon seen as being far more mighty than those two.

Is that last one a meta-joke about how people can't agree what kind of cat Luxray is based on? Because if so, that's great.
To an extent, yes. It's also based on some arguments I've seen regarding Lion King crossovers with Pokemon on whether the Shinx line or the Pyroar line are better fits for the lion characters (though this is mostly just regarding the good lions, since Scar will almost always be a Luxray regardless of if Simba and/or Mufasa are Pyroars or not).

Scar being an adopted Luxray would probably make his character even more bitter.

Headcanon: When Carkol and Coalissal were first discovered scientists thought they were a hoax because of how disparate they are from Rolycoly.

I once read someone's headcanon on Tumblr that Spoink's .... hum... ''Spring" (?) actually kept flexing and unflexing even when it was asleep and was an involuntary movement. This person said that it functioned akin to a ''second heart'' so to speak, so it's not like Spoink can just will it to stop and it will drop dead as a result.

It pretty much tied with yours, actually: it serving to help the blood and substances flow because it's actual heart would be weaker than it should be to properly regulate circulation on it's own like it should, so the spring would serve as an assistence for it, an issue being fixed in it's evolution.

The Mega's Dex entries are theories of how the Mega would be if it could occur in nature. Mega Evolution can only be attained when the Pokemon and Trainer have a strong bond, so that bond negates any negative effects the Mega Evolution would have.

-Kanto's government invested in the research and development of creating Pokemon. Porygon, Ditto and Mewtwo are examples of this. Porygon was made to assist with the growing technological industry that Kanto was fostering, Ditto was a failed Mew clone, and Mewtwo was the one Mew clone that was semi-successful. They tried to clone Mew to use for war, which is why Mewtwo is so violent. Like in the anime it escapes, but it has nothing to do with Team Rocket.

- Team Rocket's plan throughout R/B/G/Y/FR/LG is to capture Mewtwo. That's why they acquire the Silph Scope, and why they are active in Lavender Town: to catch an army of Ghosts because they have a type advantage against it. It's also why they took over Silph Co. Silph has access to incredible amounts of technology which would be useful for taming Mewtwo, namely the Master Ball, but probably for financial reasons too.

-Blue's drive to be the best stems from his attention deficit which came about when his parents passed away. Oak looked after him and Daisy. Blue looks up to Oak and thinks he can get his love by being the Pokemon champion (as Oak was once Champion). Part of why Red leaves for Mount Silver is that he feels guilty for taking Blue's title from him. Blue learns to accept it, though.

- The female character Green/Leaf does exist, picks the starter that is weak to yours, and is the trainer that helps Bill out. She is also the one to do the 1,2,3 island quest post-Blaine, pre-Giovanni. She prefers travelling to battling, which is why she never made a name for herself in competitions like the Pokemon League. She is a pretty competent battler, however, earning the respect of the Moltres found at Mount Ember. She has 7 Kanto badges, as she never got to fight Giovanni. She is close friends with Red and Blue. She is absent in gen 2 because she is travelling.

- Red started with Charmander, owned a Marowak by catching the child of the deceased Marowak in Lavender Town, and obtained Venusaur and Blastoise by trading with Blue and Leaf/Green. They gave him their starters to remember them when he's away.

-Red/Leaf found out about Mewtwo from the warehouse on Five Island. Red battled Mewtwo, but did not capture it. He left for Mount Silver after being scarred mentally by the Mewtwo battle. He broke under the pressure of having to be the best and save everyone all the time that he went to Mt. Silver to train alone. Gold/Ethan defeats him and reminds him how fun life/Pokemon battling can be.

-Mewtwo left to travel the world, like in the anime. The Mewtwo you find in Kalos is the same Mewtwo as in these games.

-After Red defeats her, Lorelei quit the E4 to go back home to Four Island. After some time, she became in charge of general security over the Sevii Islands.

-The trainers in Victory Road battled a mixture of Kanto and Johto trainers, cherry-picking the "easy" ones. It's quite common for trainers to do this to get 8 badges for the Indigo League more easily, as Giovanni, Clair, Sabrina and Jasmine are very difficult to defeat.

-Gold/Ethan starts with Cyndaquil.

-Kris and Lyra are not the same people. Kris works for Prof. Elm, and takes the Chikorita. She is the one that has the Suicune plotline.

-Silver battles Lugia in the post-game before you see him at Mount Moon. He does not capture it, but earns its respect. He regularly trains with Lance, and was told to search for Lugia after Lance notices Silver's change of Heart after losing to you in the Pokemon League.

-Erika and Jasmine are friends. Jasmine feels secure around Pokemon and people she trusts. The player, Volkner, Norman and Erika are among that list. She also trained several types of Pokemon in the past, owning an Onix and Scyther before discovering their evolutions and specialising in the Steel-type. She is either the most powerful or second (to Clair) most powerful Johto leader.

-Norman was from Olivine (confirmed canon) and was invited to be a gym leader in Hoenn due to making a name for himself by earning 8 badges, clearing Victory Road and putting up a good showing against the Elite Four.

-Each year, the Johto and Kanto leaders battle each other at Indigo Plateau.

-Karen was Agatha's prodigy, much like Red, Blue, Leaf/Green and Gold/Ethan are Oak's. Karen is an orphan and was taken in by Agatha. She uses Dark-types to reflect her victory over the darkness in her heart. Agatha retired and referred Karen as he successor. Karen had to prove herself by battling the other members of the E4.

-Agatha is the old woman in the Pokemon Center at the foot of Mount Silver. She trained Karen there. Karen reached the top but lost to Red.

-Will's father or mentor is the Abra teleport guy at Indigo Plateau. Will was a traveler, known for obtaining 8 badges in every region he visited. He was from the Sevii Islands (perhaps Seven?) and Lorelei recommended him as her successor.

Will probably post more later.

Recently I saw a fanart of Legends Arceus on Twitter (but I forget who the artist was or where the photo is). In that photo, there were multiple Buizel and they were missing their back markings. Clearly, the artist forgot the paint them. Normally male ones have two yellowish circle markings while the female ones have only one. And someone pointed out this little mistake in the painting in the comments. After that, another person responded with this: " I thought they were non-binary Buizel". And from now on this is my headcanon. Non-binary Buizel exist and they don't have any spots/markings on their back.

Edit: I found the art and the artist. I just googled "non-binary buizel" and the first result was what I was looking for.

I was thinking about Galar’s Minor League again and I’m convinced that whoever the Flying Type candidate is they must have a connection to the Flying Taxi service as it would be weird otherwise, maybe the company sends in their ace Corviknight handler to try and become a Gym Leader to boost advertising or something.
