What are your game headcanons?

It wasn't Arceus who created Celebi, Jirachi and the Lake Trio, it was Mew, thats why they look alike.
After Giratina went on a rampage, it created Yveltal. As a response, Mew created Xerneas. But when a fight between the 2 went out of hand, Arceus took the reigns to create their overlord Zygarde... who managed to calm them down.
Phanpy and Cufant share a common ancestor.

Burgh has OCD. No real reason for this one except people with OCD are typically portrayed as overly logical and geared towards hard science, so I thought I'd give an OCD headcanon to him for those of us who are creative types!

N's feelings for Hilda and Hilbert are platonic, and, as it stands, he doesn't have romantic feelings for anyone as of BW2. This may or may not change.

Anything dealing with stuff like being eternally cursed or the end of existence are mere rumors and not established fact. This is for my own comfort because stuff like that makes me sad.

Focus Blast is actually a man-made attempt at emulating the move "Aura Sphere" and making it a TM. While its power is higher than Aura Sphere, the former's artificial nature makes it extremely inaccurate due to the latter's actual focus on Aura, making it more precise. Case in point, Focus Blast is not boosted by the Mega Launcher ability because of its artificial nature. Yveltal is the only Pokémon to be able to learn Focus Blast naturally due to its ability to replicate the level of destruction a Focus Blast brings to the table.

The reason why Toxic was able to be used by almost every Pokemon before SW/SH came out was because most Pokemon tended to get into way too many arguments.

(This one is a meta joke, don't take it seriously.)

The game protagonists canonically either do not catch or catch and later release the legendaries in their regions. This is how they appear in other games.

I think the latter is more likely given the Pokedex completion.

Red is actually very talkative when he feels comfortable doing so. Which is only his mother and Blue. He did use to call his mother, and he was close childhood friends with Blue before some incident soon before the start of their journeys. Since then Red was giving him the silent treatment and Blue got bitter, especially after his defeat at the League. Blue started mellowing out as soon as Sevii Islands and took over the Viridian Gym, and the eruption of Cinnabar Island helped him mature some more. Red instead grew cocky and isolated himself at Mt. Silver until Gold/Kris/Ethan/Lyra defeated him (depending on each specific universe of the multiverse). After that he went back to Pallet Town and reconciled with his mom and Blue. Especially Blue. They are super close (perhaps a bit too much, we will never know) Red talks to him (and only him) ALL THE TIME when not in front of others. They go almost all places together, including PWT and Battle Tree, and Blue took it upon himself to become Red's public speaker, a thing he is secretly very proud of.

Brendan/May followed Anabel through the Ultra Wormhole and are now amnesiac Fallers in some other world.

Lucas/Dawn were willingly sent in the past (without their Pokemon) by Arceus to help with the problems in Hisui. They used different names to not accidentally become part of history causing time paradoxes. When their task there was done, Arceus brought them back which explains how previously extinct Hisuian Pokemon will start showing up in Paldea (HOME transfers lol).

I believe legendaries appear in other games because of multiple of each existing. Each time a protag catches one, either Arceus creates a new version of the legendary box art to take the old one's slot, that Pokémon creates another version of itself, even though abstract means, or some may just be travelling through time and space via Ultra Wormholes or Spacetime rifts. Palkia for example is an avatar of all space and has shown to be able to get recreated after being caught in HGSS and in Legends Arceus. Same goes for Dialga and Giratina but additional evidence for Giratina is supported by BDSP.

There are infinite of every Pokémon. It's just that the legendaries and mythicals are much harder to obtain than everything else, to the point where a person could usually only obtain one of each but can work around it through obscure means if possible (trading, transferring through time and space).

Following on from that, Lucas/Dawn went to Poketopia after they returned to their own time. Thus explaining why they can show up in Battle Revolution when using the Nintendo DS.

While Leon is the one focused on in the game, Hop also idolizes a lot of other famous powerful trainers including Red, Blue, Cynthia, and others.

Hoenn climate makes zero sense, especially the difference between the sandstorm of Route 111 and the rainforest of Route 119 (we have Sahara Desert and African Jungle in the real world but it is north-south which makes sense with how the Equator works, not west-east and most certainly not in the same little region). These areas while quite close to each other and being long stretches from north to south have no short connection unless you go all the way down to Mauville and Route 118 where the climate is a normalised in-between.

What else can be found right next to that unknown area? The Weather Insitute of course. What is it known for? The creation of Castform. Pretty much a weather Ditto, which while not seemingly native to Hoenn in RS, in Emerald we find out that there are plenty in the Desert Underpass, for all we know there could have been more further east if the Fossil Maniac kept digging.

Conspiracy theory time! Some mad scientist (quite possibly backed with Devon funding) had the idea of performing some questionable experiments on either the native Ditto (whose origin is questionable enough too, they might be failed Mew clones) or some imported from Kanto, with a twist of weather-based science, this could use latent Infinity Energy from Primal Groudon/Kyogre or the Heat/Damp/Ice Rocks etc. in a similar way evolutionary stones affect Eevee. Some Ditto escaped by burrowing undergound westward and are still in hiding. The result is the Pokemon known as Castform, and lots of them are used in that border area, spamming Sandstorm (which for some reason does not have its own form but they are working on that bug, it will hopefully be fixed in the next release) on the west side and Rain Dance on the east side. Of course that is quite the classified secret, so the Hoenn government (which is shady enough already in how much leeway it gives Devon and not questioning the failure of the Sea Mauville project) shuts down any attempt to explore the area or develop it or turn it into a tourist attraction. Pretty sure Sea Mauville would be off limits too before being abandoned and its secrets would stay hidden had a brave Trainer (who vanished by the next 3 years, although that might be an unrelated Anabel/Faller incident) not discovered it all.

Unlike Ditto, Castform is breedable, so it got quite easy in the following years for someone like Mr. Backlot to get lots of them for his Trophy Garden, or for some to escape the Unova Route 6 Season Lab and populate the route... Not sure how they ended up in Alola though.

I have not yet fleshed out all the details of this theory, such as how Weather Ball works (and how it has a Rock variant but no Castform Sandstorm form yet), why did some non-artificial Pokemon get access to the move (was it really natural? Or did it only start to show up after Castform was made? By gen 8 it is a TM! I have not played PLA yet does it exist there?) and how is it possible for regular Pokemon Hidden Abilities to have Drought and Drizzle which is clearly in the domain of non-Primal Kyogre/Groudon (could be future specimen sent to the past or to the dreams Fennel got the first HA Pokemon from, then some bred down the trait to a more general population).

Not sure if this counts as a Pokemon game headcanon but I believe the Rayquaza in Super Smash Bros Brawl is an illusion made by Uxie/Azelf/Mesprit.

For one, the Rayquaza is trying to protect a lake and is all in on going back to this lake for some reason. Rayquaza does not normally guard lakes. It's a sky dragon. It protects the skies. The lake trio are lake guardians. Secondly, the Rayquaza you fight in this game is almost always on the ground when the main games portray Rayquaza as almost never being on the ground. Third, it digs around as one of its moves and Rayquaza cannot learn the move dig. Rayquaza also seems quite - weak? for a legendary box art Pokemon in Smash Bros Brawl, only being the second boss in this game and taken out much more easily than any official Pokemon media would portray it as. Not to seem biased but Rayquaza is one of the more powerful Nintendo characters who could serve as boss fights, so this can justifiably be seen as Rayquaza being done dirty. Lastly, the lake trio have the power to create illusions in an attempt to guard their lake. This was shown in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky where Uxie made a very strong illusion of Groudon and the main characters of the game didn't realize it was an illusion until Uxie revealed it. The lake trio were also present in Super Smash Bros Brawl anyway. You can occasionally find them at the Spear Pillar map.

All in all I heavily doubt this was a real Rayquaza and it makes a load of sense if it was just some powerful illusion made by one of the lake trio members.

I mean, that's not really a "headcanon" when both Charon and Nessa confirm that is the case in-universe...
Boy I hope you meant Cheren

Headcanon that Cyrus, Volkner, and Flint went to the same school. Consequently, a lot of teachers at that school filed for early retirement.

I have a sort of Prime Universe (or better said two of them, one with Megas one without) within the multiverse where most of my headcanon game protagonists are well defined.

For Red there is not much to be said, the Prime version takes elements mostly from Yellow but also a little FRLG (Sevii) and LGPE (Mega Evolution). Mt. Silver team exactly as Ethan fights it in HGSS. After that he reconciles with Blue (becomes talkative to him only) and they attend PWT and Battle Tree together. Since they are adults now there is some will they or won't they between them.

Ethan, for now I am focusing on the non Mega version since we do not know much about him otherwise. My prime version is a mix of HG and Crystal (Ho-oh fight at Bell Tower, Suicune at Cerulean Cape, did not catch any). Personality wise, he is more social than Red but VERY unsure of himself. Did not have any ambitions about the League, only wanted to run errands early on to feel better about himself. VERY clingly to his mother. He is afraid of having go manage all his money alone. The only one who goes through the hassle of depositing through Pokegear some amount to her account after every single battle won. She calls him all the time about things she buys. They talk every day, many times more than once per day. He does get slowly but steadily better after becoming Champion (but did not want any responsibilities from the League at all) and beating Red (who he does not interact with more past that battle). Then he just goes to Sinjoh Ruins for an errand by Cynthia and is missing since. Team was Typhlosion Ampharos Togekiss Sudowoodo Espeon Gyarados (Shiny).

Brendan, prime version is mostly AS and Emerald. He has father issues. On the one hand he is proud of him for being a Gym Leader. On the other hand he is a bit resentful because he forced them to move from the busy port Olivine (he had lots of school friends) to Littleroot. He cannot stand living in such a small place, not realising this makes his mother feel even more alone. He eagerly wants to become a Trainer to leave the little town and become strong enough to defeat his father. Which he eventually does, but when that happens, he loses his sense of purpose... Then Southern Island happens and he gets a Latios and Mega Evolution and he feels weird about it, becoming too strong and distant from his dad. In an attempt to somehow connect to his father's legacy he goes through a phase where he overfocuses on using the not so good Normal types Linoone (his HM slave) and then Castform and Kecleon. But he kinda struggles. He does finally move past this and does send all of his Normal types to his father's gym focusing on the rest of the team instead, with newfound resolve to defeat Archie and Maxie and become Champion. Around Delta Episode he understands how alone his mother is and how his dislike for Littleroot is problematic and moves back in. But then Anabel asks him for help with an Ultra Wormhole and he is missing. At the time of disappearance, team was Sceptile Rayquaza Latios Deoxys Mightyena Armaldo. He has used others though such as the normal types, Cosplay Pikachu for Contests, Wobbuffet...

Lucas, prime universe version combines BDSP and Platinum. He is kinda aloof in a way that contrasts Barry, does not seem as energetic, never bothered to figure out his mother was a Contest star in her youth, he does aspire to become like Cynthia though and catch rare Pokemon like the Lake legendaries or Red Gyarados, but he never would bother act on it alone. He feels as if it is his responsibility to keep Barry in check and does not care much about his fines. Picks the slow and sturdy Torterra while Barry goes all Infernape. Other than that, most of his team copies Cynthia way too much. He gets a Togekiss, goes out of his way to get a Gible (where he meets Mira), an Eevee (which he planned to evolve into Glaceon but eventually decided against it and went for Flareon), Porygon Z and Lucario. He did use a Blissey for a while. He considers the Stat Trainers friends he can learn from, trying to copy Cheryl and Riley on using their signature species. After the events on Stark Mountain, around the Sinjoh Ruins events, Giratina starts acting up again, and he gets sucked in the past (without his Pokemon) and somehow gains some sort of subconscious link with Ethan too. He calls himself Rei and adventures in Hisui with the starter of his choice Cyndaquil (clearly influenced by Ethan on this one). In his adventures there, he feels more free than ever, and Ethan does so too, they can shed their burdens from their modern lives since they have no people they actually care about back then. Eventually they do have the final showdown with Arceus. Not sure what happens past that point.

Will bring up Unova later.
