POPULAR: What Did You Write Today?

Wrote the next chapter of Chaos Rising ("The Karma Crab"). As usual with me, I started yesterday but after having a double date with doctors I was pretty wiped out, so I didn't get far.

Anyway, the Shroud and Bow Hero parties continue their quest for the final Karma Diamond. Marvin's racist attitude keeps surfacing, much to everyone's annoyance. He also mocks Celtic's plan to avoid as many monsters as possible before the fight with the Karma Crab so they don't tire themselves out, only to earn a punch from Zuzu before she displays her moral superiority. As it turns out the entire Demon Clan isn't racist, even Infinator. In fact, the Demon Clan despises racism, calling it pointless and other such terms, as well as have virtually no tolerance toward it, thus showing that even demons have higher moral standards than some people. This doesn't sit well with Marvin, as even Jerry calls him out on it. They finally make it to the Karma Crab and the battle begins. Unfortunately, Celtic and his party pretty much solo it, as Jerry and his party barely even dent it, even after Leon lowered its defenses with debuffing magic. When it's obvious the Karma Crab is reaching the end of his rope he tries to use Kamikaze to take them all out. Celtic's Scrap Iron Fortress Defense neuters that threat, making the Karma Crab go out with a whimper instead of a bang (and acting as a bookend to the first Karma Beast fight, where the Karma Boar used Kamikaze as well, only to fail in piercing Celtic's defenses). The final Karma Diamond is collected and they return to Delgunner. However, while King Alvin is very pleased to have the fifth and final Karma Diamond, he instantly becomes enraged when he learns of Marvin's racism and the problems he caused. King Duskbane appeared in his Assault Mode form and decides to take Marvin to Shadoria for punishment, as he's beyond enraged at what Marvin did, to which King Alvin allows it, as both Delgunner and Shadoria have absolutely no tolerance for racism, as both kingdoms want to foster peace and good relationships with all races (even the Light Elves, believe it or not). King Alvin also bans Marvin from any future banquets as an additional punishment. King Duskbane takes the final Karma Diamond and Marvin back to Shadoria while King Alvin decides to hold a banquet in celebration for defeating the legendary Karma Beasts and obtaining all the Karma Diamonds. The next chapter, "The Dance at Dusk", will be somewhat filler-ish, but it will further the relationships between certain characters.

Forgive the double post (once again), but I completed the next chapter of Chaos Rising this morning ("The Dance at Dusk"). It's a filler chapter but it has some meaning.

Anyway, Celtic and Jerry get their promised rewards for their efforts at obtaining the final Karma Diamond. King Duskbane also appears and gives Skye her new, and final, armor: the Shadow Star Armor, which is a "modernized" version that ancient Shadokor warrior women used. Skye loves it. He also gifts her a Shadow Mana Dagger (think Raphtalia's mana sword, only in a dagger form), which also has the properties of Shadow Negation in it, making it very powerful. Later on, as promised, King Alvin holds a banquet in honor of the Legendary Heroes and their efforts in obtaining the Karma Diamonds. Celtic is... less-than-thrilled to be there, as he's never had any pleasant experiences at parties, but attends nonetheless. Upon the toast King Alvin even gives Celtic a special mention due to the fact he had to attend all five Karma Diamond missions to ensure the job got done, thus deserved the most praise. After the food has been cleared people start to dance. Skye manages to get a very reluctant Celtic to dance with her, doing a slow waltz, continuing to build up their relationship together. Leon requests if Viola would like to do the same but she embarrassingly declines, as she admits her Arachne body structure is ill-suited for dancing, but Leon takes it in stride and accepts it, showing their relationship is growing as well. After the dance the banquet is over. As Celtic lays in bed he was surprised that he went through with all of that without any real issues. Though he also does worry that this was the calm before the storm. The next chapter, "Laverna Rises", will not only debut the next Demon General of the same name, but this one is a particularly bad one. One that the Heroes have been dreading to fight for quite some time.

Managed to get another chapter of Chaos Rising done ("Laverna Rises").

Infinator and Sylph deploy their newest Demon General: Laverna, to attack the Heroes at Delgunner's capital. She proves to be a powerful enemy, but the Heroes manage to hold their own. Celtic gets to debut his Magic Chess Shroud (which he obtained before the Karma Beast arc), showing off its awesome power and managing to deal heavy damage to Laverna. However, when Skye attacks the Demon General it's revealed to be her trans-mutated mother, Jade, much to her horror. Jade manages to come to her senses and begs Skye to kill her before the trans-mutations take over again. Celtic, however, has another plan, and uses the unique properties of the Shroud, which is made of Chaos Magnite, to purify and return Jade to normal, ending the battle. Jade then reveals quite the bombshell: Wench was NOT going to be the next Queen of the Light Elves when they still had a kingdom. Instead, Skye was going to be the next Queen, as Wench's toxic personality and destructive nature made her unfit to rule (among other reasons), while Skye proved to be competent, talented, and smart, thus was more fitting to be the next Queen. And considering Wench's actions made the Light Elves lose everything, she was right about that. Wench... doesn't take that very well. Celtic and his party then take Jade back to her husband, Sludge, and the former Light Elf King is beyond grateful. He even gets down on his hands and knees to beg for forgiveness and promises to reform alongside his wife and become allies to Celtic. Celtic accepts this in his own unique way, which Skye has to "translate" for Sludge, before they go to King Alvin, who promises a reward for the Heroes. The next chapter, "Diamond Storm", will bring the much-awaited results of the Karma Diamond quests. Will the Karma Diamonds grant the Heroes their wish?

Forgive the double post (once again) but I finished the next chapter of Chaos Rising ("Diamond Storm"). It's also one of my shorter chapters, as not a huge amount happens in it, but it does play some significance.

Anyway, thanks to the restoration of former Queen Jade, the Heroes learn that Infinator no longer needs his wave generators, as he's found the location he needs to open a gateway to the Demon Realm. As a pre-emptive tactic to stop Infinator from achieving this, Queen Rease and King Duskbane decide to use the Karma Diamonds to increase the dimensional walls between Zakota and the Demon Realm significantly, thereby pretty much resetting Infinator's plans back to square one. Queen Rease performs the ritual needed to get the Karma Diamonds to grant them their wish in King Alvin's throne room with the Heroes present in case something goes array. The ritual is a success and Zakota's dimensional walls have been strengthened significantly. However, the Karma Diamonds then become energy spheres and scatter to the wind! Fortunately, thanks to Skye's efforts, they managed to retain one Karma Diamond. Only problem is... it's stuck in her womb. The good news is that even if Infinator gathers up the other Karma Diamonds he can't use them, as in order to use their awesome power all five are needed in one location. Thus Skye is stuck bearing the Karma Diamond in her womb until further notice, much to her displeasure. Infinator takes the news of the Karma Diamonds effectively resetting all his progress... very poorly, much to his remaining Demon Generals' terror. However, Sylph reminds him that the Karma Diamonds are now up for grabs, calming her master down. He orders his remaining Generals to hunt down the Karma Diamonds so he can effectively turn the Heroes' tactic against them. The next chapter, "Crossing the Rubicon", will debut the return of an old friend to Infinator and Sylph. One who will also bring extra problems for Zakota.

Finished writing my treatment for the script I'm going to be writing (For those who don't know, it's basically a summarizing of every single event that takes place in a movie written in prose without all the dialogue. It's used to sell the idea for a movie.) I wrote the first 2/3rds last week, then did the last third today. I wrote 1515 words for it today and my brain is now fried and I am very emotional now. That's a good thing though because it means I'm attached to these characters and hurting them hurts me but I'm gonna do it anyway.

I haven't worked on any of my own personal pieces recently. I'm having a lot of trouble coming up with ideas right now and whenever I do try to write for my own works it's just coming out choppy or boring. I really need to start working on it though if I'm going to try and get a short story published this year.

Managed to finish the next chapter of Chaos Rising this morning ("Crossing the Rubicon"). As usual with me I started yesterday but I had a slight migraine. Not a bad one, just an annoying one, so I didn't get very far before conking out.

Anyway, Celtic is busy making accessories for various purposes while he and the other Heroes await news about either Infinator or the Karma Diamonds. The following day Celtic and his party are sent out to the Champa Marsh in the Flugel Kingdom to find a Karma Diamond. They eventually track it down, especially thanks to Skye as the Karma Diamond in her womb was able to detect the second Karma Diamond, allowing them to recover it. They stick around at the merchant city of Goldora because Celtic and Zuzu started to have instinctive feelings about something bad might happen. Plus, they decided to take advantage of both being in a new place and having the previously acquired Merchant Pass to get discounts on anything that might be useful. Sure enough, that night Sylph appears, having been tracking down the Karma Diamond, only to realize that someone else got to it first, much to her frustration. However, she picks up a signal of a dimensional gateway, crosses through it, and finds Bronwen, a previous Demon General from the Great Demon War, alive but imprisoned. Sylph frees her old comrade and helps her escape the prison, as she had been sealed away by the first generation of Legendary Heroes, sans the Shroud as the Shadokor hadn't been summoned at the time of her imprisonment. After crossing the dimensional gateway into Zakota Bronwen releases her fellow monsters, called Wrath Iron Maidens, back into the world, before she and Sylph return to Infinator in order to help Bronwen recover. Celtic and his party are informed of this by a Shadow Sentinel and decide to investigate in the morning. Sure enough, they encounter three Wrath Iron Maidens attacking traveling merchants. Wrath Iron Maidens are not only strong, but more intelligent, have at least a basic sense of strategy, and can even talk, making them a cut about most monsters. Celtic and his party save the merchants from the new monsters and are gifted a Cobra Grappling Hook as thanks. After escorting the merchants to Goldora for good measures, they return to Delgunner to report about what happened. The next chapter, "Akuji Rides Again", will feature the return of General Akuji to the frontlines. How will the Heroes deal with him?

Once again, forgive the double post, but I managed to finish another chapter in Chaos Rising today ("Akuji Rides Again").

Because of the return of General Bronwen to Infinator's ranks, along with the return of the Wrath Iron Maiden monster family, King Alvin and King Duskbane hold an emergency meeting with the Heroes to discuss what this means. It's revealed that Bronwen is one of the bigger brains of Infinator's faction, being a master strategist, thus her return spells trouble. As a small precaution, Celtic gives the other Heroes a homemade Defense Barrier Charm to protect them, as it's reusable and could potentially save their lives in an emergency by producing a barrier that will protect them and their parties from one attack every few minutes (think of it like Protect, only it needs a few minutes to recharge between uses). Not long after the meeting ends Celtic, Ryan, and their respective parties have to go to Shaori Village because General Akuji and an undead army were seen heading in that direction, possibly after a Karma Diamond, and since they were the only Heroes available right now they had to go. They get there and try to cut Akuji off but he sends his undead minions to keep them busy. Once again the Soulavore Shroud comes in handy in taking out multiple undead monster with its Undead Eat while Ryan and his party throw their weight around quite well. They managed to catch up to Akuji, who had found the green Karma Diamond, but some quick thinking from Ryan and Rupert's Snatch Steal managed to get both it and a Teleport Crystal away from Akuji while simultaneously binding him with magical chains from Ryan's Chain Sword. Ryan shows just how far he's come by dealing some heavy damage to Akuji before Celtic finishes him off with Undead Eat. They find a tracking device that Akuji had been using and decide to bring it back to King Duskbane for analysis, since it might prove useful. The return to Shaori and are rewarded with, you guessed it, more seafood and dried meats, to which Celtic and his party will gladly split with Ryan's. They return to Delgunner to report their success. The next chapter, "Robert's Revenge", will focus on Robert's latest plan to take down the Shroud Hero party.

709 words, mostly as narration, which I figured this morning would be the better route. Might delete part of the latest dialogue and replace with narration, not sure yet.

Finished the next chapter of Chaos Rising ("Robert's Revenge"). This one took a bit more work than normal, as I had the basic idea down but I couldn't quite get the main meat of the chapter ironed out right away. Took a few tries before I finally got it.

Anyway, Celtic and Ryan are rewarded for not only getting back the Karma Diamond but also defeating General Akuji. Celtic and his party then spend the next few days doing their own thing, as the weather kept them indoors. However, Robert is still out there. And what's worse, he found one of the Karma Diamonds! He plans on getting all five to enact his final revenge, but, for now, he's got another plan in place. The following day he attacks Delgunner with another monster army, this time the Skull Bell he had summoned Wrath Iron Maidens, among other monsters, to do his bidding. Celtic's party, and later Lucas' party and Ryan's party take the threat head-on, though Lucas, once again, proves to be rather incompetent, while his party barely does anything, much the the Wrath Iron Maidens' disappointment. Ryan and his party, however, do much better, working well alongside Celtic's party. Eventually they succeed in defeating the monsters and Leon snipes the Skull Bell again, destroying to prevent Robert from summoning any more Undead and Lesser Demon monsters, forcing Robert to flee, but he still has the Karma Diamond with him. Skye realizes that her new Shadow Mana Dagger could keep Robert from using Teleport (and any other magic he has) so they can finally catch him, though she's annoyed that she remembered this too late for this time. Celtic and his party stay to clean up the monster corpses and heal the soldiers, to which Lucas calls him a janitor and walks away so he and his party can brag about "his" victory, much to everyone else's disgust. Ryan, however, has his party stick around to help clean up the monsters, showing that his respect for Celtic and his hard work has grown enough that he's willing to lend the Shroud Hero some help. Meanwhile, General Bronwen has since recovered from her 2500 year stasis and imprisonment and is ready to help Infinator with her tactical skills, while Akuji is being cloned again after his failure at the hands of Celtic and Ryan. The next chapter, "Casting a Shade by a Shade Wing", will feature Alastor's latest attempt to help his side overcome the Heroes.

Wrote an extremely barebones concept outline for a new idea ping-ponging off the walls of my brain today, and wrote some comments on some other fanfics in the past few days.

Wrote the next chapter of Chaos Rising ("Casting a Shade by a Shade Wing"). As normal with me I started it yesterday but finished it today.

Anyway, Bronwen is reintroduced to her master, Infinator, much to his pleasure. She immediately figures out a new plan, one that doesn't need the Karma Diamonds in order to succeed. And the plan is centered around Wench, her devious nature, and the Chaos Chimera. However, it hinges on the fact that Alastor needs to be able to control Gengar Bats, something that he's not sure he can do. He decides to go out into the field and see if he can find some Gengar Bats to test if he can control them. Sylph gives him another tracking device in case he stumbles across the last Karma Diamond. His presence doesn't go unnoticed by the Heroes, and thus Celtic and Lucas, along with their parties, are deployed to try to stop Alastor. Alastor manages to get the drop on them by causing a rockslide but thanks to Tyroe's geokinesis they manage to catch up to the Demon General, who has located the final Karma Diamond. The battle begins. Lucas, once again, proves ineffective and he and his party are knocked out of the fight pretty quickly. Celtic, desperate to keep Alastor from fleeing, attempts to use Chaos Blood Curse again to stop him, but Alastor uses his newfound ability to control a colony of Gengar Bats to throw Celtic into a mental tailspin, allowing him to escape with the Karma Diamond. After reporting back to King Alvin, Lucas tries to shift the blame all on Celtic, but King Alvin, along with the other Heroes, call him out, saying he's just as guilty as Celtic for failing the mission. Meanwhile, Alastor reports back to Infinator, showing his success to his master, much to the great demon's delight. This means Bronwen's plan can move ahead. The next chapter, "For Whom the Gengar Bats Toll", will feature Bronwen's plan being put into motion. What will happen next?

776 words today. Getting close to the point where I can wind things down and end the scene.

Finally found a title for this new idea that vibes with me - currently going with “memento” for this fic’s working title. It’s another one based off the same comic I’ve been basing all my previous fics on, though instead of strictly detailing canon events from someone’s POV I’m probably gonna be focusing on a relationship between two of its main characters (and self-projecting hard onto one of them). Still undecided as to whether I want to make this a oneshot or break it into multiple chapters - after finding out all the canon chapters I will probably need to reference I’m pretty sure I’m in over my head at the amount of stuff I want to write about, but I at least have a rough idea of where I want to start and where I want it to end.

I’m also undecided as to whether I want to hold off on this idea until the next chapter of the comic is released, since that chapter features both the main characters again (seeing from early progress shots) and might also prove a pretty depressing theory I’ve had for the longest time true, so it would probably be better for me to wrap up my fic at the next chapter instead of at the current latest chapter. I’ll let my ideas stew for a hot minute and see.

662 words today. Decided to stop earlier than usual since I'm a little more tired than I thought. Anyway, have a couple more things to write during the wind-down and then I'll be done with the scene.

Decided to do so Pokémon orientated drabbles to get some stuff out of my system. Still not sure on the 'style' I'm doing for it but I'm sure I'll find an answer.

As far as my Digimon fic goes, still a bit stuck at the 'link' between the first part and the second part. Hopefully I can figure it out soon.

With that massive reveal yesterday of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, I have been itching to write something Pokemon. So after struggling to maybe write 100 words for my capstone (final major project for my creative writing major), I took some time to make up a quick idea where I can rite some Pokemon-related one-shots when I felt like it. I ended up writing like a 3000-word piece for that as an intro piece. I wish I could write like that for capstone lol.
