What game mechanic-Megas or Z-moves was more used in competitive battles and which one won more battles for their trainers?

Maybe the question should be limited to the past two years (or a bit less) when they co-existed. Anyway, I would think that most competitive players would use both, which certainly seems to be the case in VGC. Their impact would be much harder to quantify, but Megas would make more sense.
