Let's say Nintendo decided to let IDW, the same company that has made comic books based on major franchises such as Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony and Sonic the Hedgehog make a comic book series based on Pokémon. What do you think it would be like and would you approve of it?
One idea I have for an IDW Pokémon comic is that it's based on the anime, but set in a different continuity. Ash Ketchum would be the obvious star, but it would also feature ALL of his travelling companions that he met throughout the series. The setup would be like that of Pokémon Journeys in which he travels across the entire Pokémon world. Ash's companions would be rotating depending on the story, which could lead to some character interactions that never happened in the anime. Like Serena interacting with Dawn or Max interacting with Bonnie.
And of course, Sonic comics head writer Ian Flynn is part of the writing team.
