I guess I always choose Water, Electric, Flying, Fighting and Ground. Flying because I need a way around, the others I just like. There pokémon look cool.

For Y, I think I'm gonna go in and choose all my pokémon as I play instead of pre-planning, something I haven't done since Diamond. I try to make sure my pokémon aren't weak and unusable, but still try to pick ones I like and not determined soley on power. One of my goals is to prove I can use normal pokémon like my main game team and still do decent in competitive play, not having to result to powerhouses like Hydreigon.

The first five are my main game team. I used these guys to go after Ghetsis, the E4, etc. The sixth man is a take-in from the GTS; he was level 88 when I traded for him and had no decent IVs. I'm trying to get him attached to me and get him a good Attack stat. The EV training I'm doing seems to be helping the big guy and he's gone from tolerating my presence to outright adoring me.

The main five rarely leave my side, unless I'm gathering/hatching Eggs. I put a lot of effort into these little pixels and I love 'em.
