Music What Japanese Song Are You Currently Addicted To?

A happy hardcoreish piece off of Hardcore Syndrome 6, I've been listening to Lift Up by 源屋 featuring 3L on vocals. I'm still working on familiarizing myself with all the Hardcore Syndrome material, but of what I've listened to so far, this one caught my ear (which is no surprise, as I was already a fan of both 源屋 and 3L, so seeing a collaboration is great).

I've also really been digging ミレナリオ by ELISA, a single of hers from last spring. It's a pretty epic-sounding pop ballad. I have to give kudos to the composers and arrangers, and ELISA's voice fits it really well, too.

Finishing Fate/Zero, I am IN LOVE with LiSA all over again with "Oath Sign", and Kalafina's "To the Beginning". Just, some of the best songs my ears I've ever heard.

I think this is an amazing collaboration! I'm not the biggest Vocaloid fan, but it's great to see Vocaloid being used in mainstream music :3

They're all anime OPs.

Moon Pride by Momoiro Clover Z
Let Me Hear by Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas
Kyokugen Dreamer by Screen Mode
Ouka Ranman by Keytalk: mainly this one right now
(sometimes) Tank! by Seatbelts

Unusually for someone (originally) from Japan, almost none - if you limit to what typically be classified as J-Pop. Just the theme songs from the OS-equivalent of the Pokémon anime. For the later seasons, I prefer the English-dubbed songs.

However, I really like listening to older traditional enka; there are two café/fastfood-style Japanese restaurants along George Street in the Sydney ***, and they run enka songs from the 1930s-1950/60s? all the time. This is where I usually eat dinner after my weekly part-time uni lectures.

While I haven't got around to it yet, I would like to listen to classical music by Akira Ifukube (the guy most famous for Godzilla music).

Kira Kira Killer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu
That's what is rattling around inside my head right now
Its a very catchy track
Plus I have probably got it stuck in my head as I just been watching MoshiMoshi Nippon on NHK World

I feel as though I can play this song at a party and I'll see people dancing to it. The Beat is pretty awesome.

As for the lyrics, I have some ideas on what the song is about but I'm not certain. People get the wrong idea because of the lyrical content. It's clear that those people don't know how to read song lyrics.

Let's Contribute: Imprisonment of Love for 1,000,000 years

I have this song play whenever I re-do a mission in Freedom Wars, it makes tackling abductors a whole lot more fun that usual. I also bought the Panna, Opti and Connie theme for my Vita so this song also plays on my Vita's home screen. So it's pretty much hot wired into my cranium by now.

This thread needs another revival :D

I've had a couple songs stuck in my head lately. First is Wind and Wander by Mami Kawada. I think she does well in this song, but what really carries it is the great composition. I find it to be very uplifting and immersive. The music is by Tomoyuki Nakazawa of I've Sound, who's also done some other great pieces (he composed the opening for Little Busters!, both openings for Nagi no Asu kara, and two of my favorite KOTOKO songs, Presto and HALLUCINO). Here's a live performance with the melody performed on violin. In my opinion, the show is stolen away from Mami Kawada here again, this time by the violinist. :p But she's still one of my faves!

The other is SAKURA☆風味 (DJ Shimamura Remix), performed by Rui Miyabe. She voiced one of the heroines of the VN that the original song was the opening for, and I've never seen her in any other songs, so this might just be a one off (here is the original). I don't think it's particularly good or bad, but I absolutey love the remix! I think DJ Shimamura really improved on this song. It's almost as if the vocal track was made to be part of a dance song. In true EDM fashion, this one just gets in my head with classic catchiness and repetition.

Opening of School Live! (Gakkou Gurashi), Friend Shitai (I Want to be Friends) by Gakuen Seikatsu-bu.

I've been addicted to Mimi no Naka e by Earphones for a while. Also Make My Day! by Piko and Trust Me by Yuya Matsushita, rarely am I able to hop in the car without ending up listening to those. Looking forward to Utada's (eventual) comeback and getting addicted to her new music though! :3
