SwSh What little things, details, and other small additions in Sword/Shield that you like

I loved the League Cards. On top of the Gym Leaders actually having a personality for the most part, the League Cards also give you some neat info on them.

i loved the little detail with how some overworld pokemon would interact with the trainer once they got close enough. some would start a battle immediately, some would ignore the trainer outright (lol), and the smaller pokemon would stand next to the player making cute cries for a while. it's interesting.

I thought the encouter method for Galarian Stunfisk was very original and memorable. I still clearly remember being confused that the Pokéball item on the ground was much smaller than usual, before getting chomped by Stunfisk for the first time. I would love to see more unique ways of encountering certain Pokémon to match their biology, such as Gengar appearing from the player's shadow for example or Kecleon using its camouflage in the overworld. With a larger open world there's a lot of potential to make encountering Pokémon more engaging and exciting and I hope that SwSh are the start of this trend.

Another little detail I forgot to mention that Sword/Shield have added. Your Pokemon are fully healed upon a Gym Badge victory. That's a nice QoL addition, especially since the story sometimes thrusts you into the next "event" right after you leave the Gym (Stow-and-Side is a good example). So, you no longer have to run to the Pokemon Center for healing after completing a Gym before doing the next part of the game, thereby allowing you to move on with the game/story unhindered.

If I had to list off all the little things that I like about these games, it would take me all night. One of my favorite things is how all the Gym Leaders were fleshed out with their League cards. Not only that, but just their overall appearances and personalities too. Just the overall characters I've really liked, I think Leon is now my favorite Champion next to Cynthia.

Also.... PINK! :ROFLMAO:

Then you realize her favorite color is purple...
Also I love how each one of the gym leaders appears at least once before battling (not counting the opening ceremony), except the vexclusives (and Piers for obvious reasons, plus we know his job and he travels with the player in the post-game story.) wich is dissappointing since the only one of them that I like is Gordie since he is just a celebrity radiating in coolness, and Allister being a second but it's only because I want to hug him and that's it. Also ,their occupations aren't 100% background for their gyms.
Milo-farmer: you meet him while he's chasing a wooloo
Nessa-model: she appears in one of the adds in wyndon, plus the photo on her rare league card
Kabu-retired,I think: you first meet him training outside because he has free-time, yeah that's so speculative, but it fits well
Opal-singer and Piers-singer: did you see their gym?
Raihan-a guard(?): He's the guardian of the vaults wich is fitting since he's a dragon type specialist as an NPC pointed out, other than that I guess he makes a living out of being online famous.
And I consider this generation the best when it comes to pokemon and character design. Or at least equal to gen 5 for the latter.

I do agree that the fleshing out of the Gym Leaders via their League Cards is a very nice improvement. Especially after the near non-existent nature of the Kalos Gym Leaders, which was a huge step down from Gen 5. The fact that each Gym Leader has some form of history, backstory, or certain personality traits is a definite improvement. Not to mention they are often outside of their Gyms a lot or doing various events during the game (sans the version exclusives, though that's understandable). Piers in particular is just loaded with personality, especially his deadpan snarker tendencies (the post-game is just loaded with him laying on the snark and I love it). Really, just giving the Gym Leaders actual personalities and traits is refreshing, especially compared to how bland previous Gym Leaders were (special mention to Kalos and Kanto, since they were pretty much flat characters with no real personality). I also love how some of the League Cards mention certain aspects of the Trainers, like Leon's incredibly bad sense of direction (seriously, how can someone get lost going down a short and straight road from the train station to his house?!) or Hop's partnership with his Wooloo/Dubwool. They're all nice little tidbits that add a lot of spice to the characters, making them more interesting and not one-dimensional. I hope they keep the League Card bit for future games (or at least non-remakes if it makes it easier for GF), as they add a lot of nice details to the characters.

I like how the Pokémon Center Nurses's uniforms take design cues from WW1 British Red Cross VAD uniforms. Kinda gets my brain wondering about what the equivalent of WW1 in the Pokémon universe might've been.

I also like how the game still manages to have a de facto Elite Four thanks to Bede's intrusion on the Championship finals. It's where he's first classed as "Gym Leader" Bede, and right before you take on three other Gym Leaders, so they're all on the same standing and all specialize in a certain type (Fairy, Water, Fighting/Ghost, Dragon). In that way, it is much like how the Alola League is (mostly) comprised of existing Kahunas or Captains, but with a return to the "fixed sequence" style of Gens 1-4.

Considering what Surge implied about what possibly is the Vietnam War, I don't want to think how bad it would have been with living weapons.

When you stand at tge edges of route 6, the avatar seems to be afraid of heights like me, or it's just contemplating at the scenery down there and I'm stretching it too much...
Also ,raboot has the ability blaze ,a BST of 420, and looks like a teen, sorry I just wanted to let you have some trivia.

The player character has a lot of little specialized animations like this. Like, depending on the weather, they might cover their eyes (in a sandstorm), or wipe off their clothes (when it's raining). I've been meaning to mention that here!

The evolution animation in SwSh seems to be the shortest yet, which is nice considering the animation could get a little tedious in older games. Also, if you level up a Pokemon and it can learn multiple moves in that level span, the game waits until the Pokemon has finished leveling up before asking you if you want your Pokemon to learn those moves, which I believe is currently unique to SwSh.

I like all the clothing options. Ive only played as the male character so idk if the female trainer has more but there are a lot of options it's nice.
