Since there is an appreciation thread with the same subject at hand, I wanted to make a thread that acts like a future continuation of it. In short, what little details and such do you want to see implemented in future games?
For starters, I would like the various NPCs to continue using different types of Poke Balls instead of just the standard model. It's a small detail but it adds some realism to the games. After all, you can't be the only person running around with Great Balls, Dusk Balls, and Quick Balls, right? It only makes sense that, if different balls are available, then other people should use them and not just you.
Another thing I'd really like to see is that gift Pokemon (by that I mean in-game gifts, not events like wifi) are given to you in Premier Balls instead of the standard model. Most gift Pokemon tend to be very rare or one-of-a-kind (per game, anyway), so why not put them in a special ball to indicate that they are special. This idea also applies to in-game trades, though it doesn't have to be a Premier Ball per se, since in-game trade Mons always end up in standard Poke Balls. Again, it shows realism and indicates that they're special. I would like this to also apply to the Starters but I know that's a lost cause, so that's one idea that'll never happen. In a similar vein, in-game event Mons always end up in standard Poke Balls, like the second Cosmog, instead of allowing you to choose a ball for it. The only time that didn't happen was in BW with the event Zorua, where you could pick a ball for it. That hasn't been seen again since, which I find to be rather annoying. That's something I'd like to see, or at least having the option to re-ball a Mon at a special facility or something, even if you have to pay for it. (You can probably tell at this point that I don't like the standard model Poke Ball. I find it too boring and bland, plus it has a miserable catch rate, no useful gimmicks, and gets plastered on EVERYTHING in the Poke-world, making it rather annoying to always see.) But I'd like to see that kind of thing happen.
The last thing I'd like to see is a more reliable ID lotto. The ID lotto in SM is a bit more gimmicky than past ones. Sure, we have access to Wonder Trade and such, but according to what I know, the SM ID Lotto actually ignores the first number in an ID, only registering the second number and on. This makes it much harder to get the prizes they offer. Back in past games, every number in the ID lotto mattered, so even if just the first digit matched, it made it easier to get the prizes they offered. I want that system back, as even after Wonder Trading and such, I STILL can't catch a break with the ID lotto, and I used to win almost every time in past games. So I would like to see the lotto get changed back to its original format so it'll be more fair and easier to win.
Well, that's enough out of me. What about you guys? What small things do you want to see in future games?
