Skyforger - "O Kai Saulutė Tekėjo" [Lietuviešu tautas dziesma]
song translation: "When the Sun Was Rising" [Lithuanian folk song]
Even with the lyrics in front of me, and listening carefully with headphones (me, trying to keep up),
Lithuanian is so hard to pronounce - especially for me, since I only speak English and Spanish.
Lyrics:
O kai saulutė tekėjo
Brolis žirgelį balnojo
Kelkis sesela, žalių rūtela
Uždek šviesių ugnel
Aš atsikėliau rytelį
Ir nusiprausiau veidelį
Atsisveikinau tėvų motulį
Gal daugiau nebsmatys
Aš vieškelėliu jodamas
Žirgelį muštravodamas
O ir pamačiau jaunų mergelį
Svirnely pas skrynial
O kam tu varstai skrynelas,
O kam tu pjaustai drobelas
Aš nenešiosiu tav marškinėlių
Kareivėliu būdams
Duos mums karalius žirgelius
O ant žirgelių balnelius
Rėdys mus visus vienais parėdais
Kaip vienos motinėls
Sugrius kalneliai kloniuosna
Pasruvs upeliai kraujuosna
O mes stovėsim ir nedrebėsim
Kol priešų nugalėsim
I finally got around to listening to the 2014 remaster of Isis's Panopticon, currently at "Wills Dissolve". Every song on this album is really unique from the rest while still keeping the same brooding, atmospheric style. That's the power of melody, yo. I love it.
