The Evens - On The Face of It

The Evens are a "post post hardcore" band that features Amy Farina (of The Warmers) on drums, and Ian MacKaye (of Fugazi, Embrace, Minor Threat) on guitar. The music is very minimalistic and somewhat on the folky side with some political undertones, but politics without being preachy. I would recommend this band to anyone looking for something pleasant that can soothe your soul in this hectic world.
 
hehe, I have that MM album in my cd collection somewhere. It's been ages since I listened to that one. Antichrist Superstar is one insane album, although Portrait and the recalled version of Smells Like Children might just top it in pure WTF, but in a way Antichrist was a very accessible album for people feeling jaded at the radio dial at that point.

For now though, I'm enjoying some beatles myself.
